06/01/2026: A quiet restaurant tucked away in an alley in the heart of Clermont. A small restaurant with two alcove dining rooms, very cozy and with professional service. We first discovered it at the end of October with a starter of calf's head with gribiche sauce, followed by a local dish: truffade. We returned at the end of December for an excellent onion soup to warm us up, and then a melted Saint-Nectaire cheese... absolutely divine. All the dishes are excellent and generous... no room left for dessert 😉. And as they say, good things come in threes... we'll be back on our next trip to Clermont. A bonus: the restaurant accepts holiday vouchers... there's no cell service inside, just step outside to get the codes, validate them, and you're all set.

26/09/2025: We came for my mother's 80th birthday. I had organized everything, the accommodation, the walks... she had never visited Auvergne. We come from Switzerland. She loved it... but especially the meal at your place... It was a mixture of refinement, creativity and tenderness. The love of taste... and the taste of others. I will never forget the strawberry tagada reinterpreted by you and your team. Everything was bold, delicious, especially the 1000 tomatoes on a plate, but there was the particularly moving wink. Thank you! I hope you will read this message and your team too. I know you will close. But something else will be born and I reserve my table...

12/12/2025: Friendly welcome and service! The beef was a generous and high-quality cut...homemade fries, perfect!! No bread, salt, or pepper on the table. The speculoos tiramisu was sickeningly sweet and way too sugary!!! Good value for money! I'll be back.
06/12/2025: Update: I've tasted the food! The truffle was succulent, the meat was delicious, and the desserts were simple yet satisfying!! I haven't tried the food yet (but I will soon!), but I can tell you about the service, which was very efficient, and especially about the owner, who is lovely and passionate! You can tell he's put his heart and soul into taking over this legendary Clermont establishment, and he's succeeded! The decor is fantastic, beautiful, original (the props! 👏), and well thought out. There are free games (darts and board games). They organize themed evenings. They're open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch and, for now, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. And do we even need to mention the stunning view of the Puy-de-Dôme? 🤩 A place to (re)discover!!

07/12/2025: The meat was of excellent quality, and the fries cooked in beef fat were equally delicious. A bit pricey, but that's the price of quality, so it's entirely justified. I'm already looking forward to my next meal at this establishment.

There were five of us at the table, and everyone agreed: flawless from start to finish. A huge congratulations to Rodolphe, the chef, for his remarkable cuisine: each dish is a true work of art, with magnificent presentation, elegant tableware, meticulous attention to detail… and above all, an explosion of flavors with every bite. You can taste the precision, mastery, and generosity of the cuisine, with surprising yet always perfectly balanced combinations. Thank you also to Christelle and the entire team for the warm welcome and service: professional, friendly, and attentive, without being overbearing, but with just the right touch to make you feel truly at ease. And to top it all off, we had the chance to visit the wine cellar: an absolutely incredible, impressive place that shows just how meticulously everything has been thought out. Honestly, if you're ever in the area, stop by without hesitation. It's the kind of place you remember... and return to. 👏 Bravo and thank you for this wonderful experience!
18/01/2026: The beginning of our meal at the Auberge du Pont in Pont-du-Château promised a pleasant experience. The welcome was adequate and the presentation of the dishes elegant, giving a rather positive first impression. However, as the meal progressed, our enthusiasm gradually waned. Upon tasting, the dishes proved rather heavy, lacking finesse and balance. The flavors, lacking nuance, failed to evoke the emotion expected at a Michelin-starred restaurant, and we found it difficult to finish our plates. The dishes were presented with only brief explanations, without any real detail or context. This created an impression of distance and a lack of connection, whereas one generally expects more education and storytelling at this level of cuisine. The notable exception was the sommelier, who was more engaged and took the time to go into detail. But the wine pairings were perplexing. In France, offering Italian wines isn't a problem in itself—provided there's a coherence and that it's explained to us. Here, the whole experience seems more driven by a profit motive than a genuine gastronomic endeavor. The end of the meal, right up to the coffee and petits fours, follows the same downward spiral, lacking any real excitement or controlled finale. The whole thing feels more like an unfinished experience than a true gastronomic moment. Considering this level of service, the price remains high and difficult to justify. One is then led to wonder how a Michelin star can be awarded: a distinction that, as it stands, raises more questions than it convinces.

31/01/2026: Every time we pass through Besse, we stop at Bessoi. And this time, disappointment. My partner chose poor-quality meat; half of it remained on his plate. I had a bland, lukewarm crepe. As for the service, we're still waiting to be cleared after waiting for the novice waiter (who was managing the entire dining room alone) to come back and perhaps offer us dessert? It's a radical and disappointing change.
