16/07/2026: The service is always excellent, the whole team is lovely. The food is very good and plentiful!

06/07/2026: One drawback regarding the service: We opted for the set menu. When dessert arrived, the waitress brought the menu without any explanation. It turned out that not all desserts were included. The bill was a surprise.

27/08/2026: Passing through the area, coming from Lille, we stopped at this swimming pool. Well...we were lucky, it wasn't too crowded on Monday, August 24, 2026. We took advantage of everything this lovely pool has to offer: sauna, spa, water games, slide, and large pool, etc. The staff and lifeguards were friendly, and the changing rooms, showers, and restrooms were very clean, with the added bonus of soap provided in the showers. We really appreciated the facilities and the welcome. Thank you.

05/05/2026: We spent three nights at this hotel. The staff is very welcoming and the rooms are very pleasant. There was a small problem with a spring in room 414, but it was quickly resolved. The housekeeping staff is excellent. The food is very good. Special mention to the lady who was in charge of breakfast on Saturday, May 2nd. She had incredible energy serving the guests, covering miles during service to replenish the food: well done! The only downside was the lack of cloth napkins on the tables. While this isn't a big deal, the half-sized white paper napkins are more like something you'd find at a mobile chip shop—no, not in a Mercure hotel.

04/05/2026: I was very disappointed with this hotel. I had booked a special package that included a bottle of wine in the room upon arrival and a late dinner. However, the wine was mediocre; we didn't drink it. We didn't use the late dinner because we were planning to enjoy the indoor pool, but it was so cold that we only took a quick dip. This hotel is absolutely not worth the price I paid!

14/06/2026: Looking for a place to have lunch? Le Pélican is a restaurant I wasn't disappointed to visit. The set menu (starter and main course, main course and dessert, or all three) is a good compromise. It offers good value for money, and the service is very friendly.

02/04/2026: A very pleasant stay at this hotel located in the center of Ambert. Room (10) is spacious with excellent bedding and a large bathroom. Add to that a delicious restaurant and a warm welcome (despite what the naysayers might say). Thank you.

05/08/2026: It's impossible to rate the food. We waited 25 minutes for our order to be taken, only to be told that the typical dish (fondue) was no longer available... We left and don't wish to return.

04/08/2026: We went to this restaurant for lunch, a party of four, without a reservation. We received a very warm welcome; the waiter immediately brought us a bowl of water for our dog. We ordered truffade, which we enjoyed, and the charcuterie was very good. My only complaint is that the beers are sold in bottles, but I understand the choice. The local lemonade is very good. A major plus: the waiter was very friendly and gave us helpful recommendations. I recommend it.

24/07/2026: My god, so many restaurant professionals here. Always complaining, "We don't have this, we don't have that," and so on and so forth. So here we're all about authenticity, no frills, no fuss. We eat well, we drink, and we have fun. We're not in a convent or at some Michelin-starred restaurant where you pay 150 euros for a three-carrot and half-potato meal. Want fast service? Go to the cafeteria or the burger joint; it'll be quicker for almost the same price.

13/07/2026: Unfortunately, there was a staff shortage in the kitchen. We waited two hours for our first course, and there were several mistakes in our order. The food was quite good, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The menu described the French toast as having caramel, almonds, and iced popcorn, but none of those ingredients were present. As compensation, we were at least offered complimentary after-dinner drinks.

11/08/2026: Great food, great service, finally a vegetarian alternative to the tourist traps in the area, really very friendly service, highly recommended.

17/07/2026: We were hoping to enjoy the shaded terrace for a meal with friends... the fact is, the terrace is a real asset! Except when... there was a smell of cat pee near our table... and the service was lacking. The white wine wasn't chilled... they apologized... but still! The meal was disappointing (soggy pizza crust, industrial-tasting sauce)... the lemon and shrimp pasta was okay... except that it arrived on chipped plates... not really up to par... so we won't be back... not even for one of the few terraces in Clermont!

16/08/2026: Restaurant only. One Sunday evening, a last-minute table for six with children: fantastic meal! Friendly service despite the crowds, and thoughtful touches like a salad bowl to share with the savory crepes, and hot lemon juice served separately with the lemon-butter crepe... everything was excellent and easy to make.

26/09/2026: A fantastic time for a hen party! The atmosphere and food were amazing. I highly recommend it.

24/09/2026: The setting hasn't changed, but even just the pizzas are nowhere near what they used to be!

17/07/2026: For our last day of vacation in the region, we didn't feel like cooking. We weren't disappointed. The value for money was excellent, the welcome was very friendly and pleasant, and the food was simple but high quality! There was a good selection of menus in terms of price and taste – something for every budget and every palate! I highly recommend it.

10/07/2026: We were a group of about forty people and had reserved tables for the evening. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When ordering at the bar, the server was rather unpleasant. During happy hour, we ordered half-pints of beer, unaware that a pint was available for the same price. This information was only provided to us afterward by a waitress when I asked her exactly what the offer entailed. I pointed out that this information hadn't been shared with anyone in our group and asked, as a gesture of goodwill, for some kind of compensation. My request was refused. It's not so much the price that bothers me as the lack of customer service. With a group of about forty people eating in, a simple gesture or a solution would have been appreciated. It's a shame, because it leaves a very negative impression when it could easily have been turned into a positive experience.
