12/02/2026: We dined at this restaurant on Christmas Day. We received a warm welcome. The cuisine was worthy of a top chef. We truly had a wonderful time, and everything was more than perfect. Our taste buds were thoroughly delighted. The service was impeccable. Thank you to the chef and, of course, to the waitresses. We will gladly return.

20/04/2026: We did not stay in the Hotel we only went there for dinner. We chatted to a lovely English Lady that seems to be the proprietor so hopefully this review helps get their Restaurant service up to par. Talking badly about your customers to other patrons is a no, no, no! Simply unacceptable. We booked a table and arrived a bit early to have a drink outside as the evening was super lovely. Our table was ready and we sat promptly. We ordered our food and everything was going well… Food arrived quickly. The Restaurant by this point had 5 tables with patrons of which 3 were already served. Some locals arrived and were chatting at the bar with the only server/manager around… The food was average but the fries were really lovely so here comes Strike 1. When we finally manage to get the attention of the server/manager and asked him if we could order more fries his answer was simply “no”. There are other tables waiting for their food (2) and their fryer is simply too small so no, there is a limit of 1 order of fries per person. Ok then… did I mention we were obviously going to pay for them? And we asked for some more wine. It took quite a while to come but ok, this guy is running service by himself… Our daughter was taking her sweet time eating so we thought we could order some cheese while she was finishing so here comes Strike 2. I ask him about cheese and his answer was he hasn’t even cleaned our table how dare we ask if they have cheese. And here comes the best part - he starts badmouthing us to the other patrons. And he knew we understood French. He came around and took our plates and left the board for us to look at the menu. And he kept talking badly about us to the other tables - how dare we be on Holiday and be rushing around, he was doing what he could all by himself (whose fault is that btw?)… and is not like we were pressuring him or anything. We were pretty calm throughout this whole experience. To the point that my daughter was almost choking and I went and got water from my car before asking him for more water - that is how badly we were trying to accommodate him. When he finally comes and asks what we want I finally answered very calmly “as we are disturbing you, we only want the check please”. So if you have bad service and attitude, at least serve the absolute best food so we forget about the experience! But the food was forgettable (and I am being generous!) except for the fries - and we were denied more of them! Anyway I think it has amazing potential as the setting is lovely but they need to get their service in order…

22/03/2026: Fantastic tartiflette evening at the PMU with Epinac! The atmosphere was truly wonderful, a perfect blend of conviviality and live music. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves; everything was delicious. Special mention for the very warm welcome and top-notch service. An evening just the way we like them, we'll definitely be back! 23/04/2026: Share and enjoy a variety of delicious hot and cold dishes. A real bonus that adds a convivial touch to your meal. For those who are hesitant or unfamiliar with it, don't waste any more time, give it a try!

21/04/2026: Very reasonable value for money. A mezze set menu for €20 with 8 courses and a set menu for €25 with 3 small mezze starters, a choice of main course, and a choice of dessert. Simple dishes, but the flavor is definitely there.

27/04/2026: Passing through Montceau In my top 3 tea rooms visited A beautiful place blending rustic charm and a touch of magic, perfect for families or couples. This kind of tea room deserves more recognition. Judging by some of the reviews, I must have just caught them on a lucky day.

16/04/2026: We come here often, but today the owner was incredibly stingy with the parmesan, claiming it was the right amount. And the Mont Blanc ice cream sundae with chestnut cream was €8—I was looking for the chestnut cream! What a shame. I find it all very pathetic, especially since the restaurant was full. The best thing to do is tell them goodbye and never again, and believe me, I'm being kind. Try it yourself; it's better, and you'll understand.

11/04/2026: A fantastic time! The pizzas and pasta were absolutely delicious. The restaurant is top-notch, as is the impeccable service. Special mention to the owner, who is lovely and very welcoming. I highly recommend it!

18/05/2026: The brasserie's terrace looked like a lovely spot for a drink or a bite to eat. Unfortunately, it was too cold outside that day, and as a result, the smoking customers had taken over the place. The service, provided by two young waiters, was very attentive. Kudos to them both. The atmosphere is very noisy, partly because the kitchen music is played at full blast. However, as for the food... what a disaster. The portions are generous, but the preparation of my beef tartare was, how shall I say... I felt like I was on the show "Kitchen Nightmares." The tartare was swimming in grease because they had added far too much oil along with the egg yolk. In addition, there were far too many condiments (gherkins and onions), very roughly chopped. Finally, my steak tartare was purple because of way too much ketchup, but especially way, way too much Worcestershire sauce. As a result, I couldn't even taste the meat; instead, I had a very, very acidic "paste." In short, it's a nice spot for a drink on the terrace in the city center, but otherwise, unless you want to be Philippe Etchebest, avoid the restaurant section.

22/03/2026: Warm welcome, excellent service. Very good products, perfectly cooked meat, excellent value for money! Very pleasantly surprised; the food has been of much higher quality since the change of chef.

21/04/2026: A family-run hotel with rather dated decor. The room was extremely noisy (you could hear everything in the hallway and other rooms as if you were right there) with a double bed. The bathroom was fine except for the rather rough towels. It's also a shame there's no power outlet near the (small) desk, which makes things difficult if you need to work there. The owner was pleasant, but unfortunately, she spent my entire breakfast on the phone with her daughter on speakerphone… As for the food: limited selection, simple but good, and made with fresh ingredients.
