14/03/2026: A friendly welcome for fast food, the cook is very straightforward: pizza burger folded in half like a kebab, but poor quality ingredients, thin, pre-cooked crust for speed... to each their own.

29/03/2026: We celebrated a birthday on a Sunday at lunchtime. The meal was pleasant but not memorable. The food was good, and the €24 set menu was tasty and generous. However, the service was minimal. The waitress forgot about us several times (no still water despite our requests, and no cork for our bottle despite being asked three times). The 2024 Mercurey white was very disappointing. So, overall, an average experience.

19/03/2026: First time at this restaurant. We have absolutely no complaints; everything was perfect, from the aperitif to the dessert. We had the €35 set menu. Excellent value for money. The meat was cooked exactly as we requested. And the best part was, we had the entire restaurant to ourselves.

02/12/2025: Unacceptable for a restaurant. Frozen products, fries, frog legs, etc., with no mention of them on the menus. Butcher's cuts and XXL cuts are identical—a real rip-off. Meat cooked with olive oil.... A restaurateur who calls himself a chef makes chocolates in his dining room—where is the hygiene??? No disabled access, especially to the restrooms. The service depends on the owners' mood.

19/03/2026: Honestly, a real gem! The owners are incredibly kind: very welcoming, always smiling, and genuinely open—it's a pleasure to see. You immediately feel welcome. The pizzas are magnificent and, above all, delicious: generously topped, perfectly portioned, and made with high-quality ingredients. And honestly, the prices are more than reasonable for what you get. It's rare to find a pizzeria like this these days. Plus, it's in a fantastic location, right next to the Vieux Bourbon. Perfect for grabbing a pizza and enjoying it peacefully on a bench, or then strolling towards the lake or the surrounding area. There's plenty to see in the neighborhood, so it's a truly great place to stop for a bite to eat. And when you know the owners have been there for 25 years, it's a sure sign of success, and above all, that it's delicious! In short, I recommend it 100%, it's excellent.

07/03/2026: Huge disappointment. We had planned to have our civil wedding reception at Le Phoenix. We ate there at the end of January and discussed our plans with the owner, who told us it was perfectly possible. She explained everything to us. Excellent communication. All that was left was to give her a budget per person so she could send us menu proposals. This information was sent the day after our visit to Le Phoenix. I called back a week and a half later to make sure she had received my email. Receipt was confirmed, and she said she would take care of it. And here we are, a month and a half later, and zero news. Radio silence. No information. No explanation. Despite two follow-up emails and another via the contact form on the restaurant's website, we conclude (since we still haven't received a response) that she has decided she doesn't want to cater our wedding. The restaurant has been open for lunch during this entire time, so it should have been possible to contact us. It was the perfect place for us: the conditions, the location, the food, and the excellent recommendations from my clients. We are all the more disappointed. And we still don't understand why we never heard from them again. Even personal problems don't justify such behavior. An email or an automated message takes a minute. Anger and disappointment—that's our experience with the "new" management of the Phoenix.

06/03/2026: A warm and friendly welcome in a verdant setting, the meals are good, and the various overnight packages are a bonus. The rooms are clean and quiet, the bedding is comfortable, but they could use a fresh coat of paint. In short, we'll be back! 😊

The desserts were unremarkable, and the dining room was tiny with very small tables. In short, a bit disappointing for the price, except for the set menu, which is a no-brainer.

01/04/2026: A friendly restaurant where you'll find a wide selection, from the daily menu to à la carte options including frogs' legs, etc. The owner has a big heart despite his sometimes gruff exterior, the staff is efficient, and you won't spend two hours at the table eating just three courses.

16/03/2026: We had a good meal, it's a shame the welcome and service were so unpleasant. We didn't even receive a greeting for our reservation, and a simple "hello" from the waiters before taking our order would have been appreciated. Politeness is fundamental to the profession, it seems to me.
