31/07/2026: Do you know this feeling when you enter a hotel and you immediately feel at home? It is the opposite with this hotel: it smells a little stale with run-down carpets everywhere. Our room also featured a very old carpet. As others have written here, it urgently needs a renovation. The beds were good, but it was very hot in our room. A ventilator was provided, but we found it difficult to sleep with a ventilator running. You cannot open the windows because a) there is a strong lamp outside that shines on the facade of the building and b) there are mosquitoes. The shower was uncomfortable with low water pressure and a low wall that did not allow me as a tall person to stand while taking a shower.

23/05/2026: A very warm welcome, the breakfast is very good and plentiful, the location is truly ideal. I highly recommend it.

27/06/2026: The inn has very friendly and welcoming staff. The swimming pool is a real bonus.

16/06/2026: I made a confident reservation by email and appreciated that trust, and I paid directly at reception. The staff was very pleasant. The place is rustic with all its charm. The room was simple and clean. The only downside was the small parking area and the visible rubbish bins right at the hotel entrance.

11/07/2026: One really sweet waitress but the others stood around the bar area and after rather a long time I had to ask someone to bring me a menu. I accept my French is terrible. I ordered the chicken kebab but some of the meat was still raw in the middle. I sent it back and ordered a green salad instead. Few options in this little town but best you avoid. Shame really!

24/08/2026: We ate at the Au Fil de l’Eau restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the setting, which was truly lovely, right on the water with a beautiful view of the monument directly opposite. It's a very charming place. As for the meal, we were a little less enthusiastic. The chef's salad at €18 seemed rather simple and sparsely filled for the price. We were expecting a more generous portion. A few minor points could also be improved: the meats we ordered rare arrived medium-rare, and the sauces for my steak tartare took a while to arrive. Our neighbor at the next table was kind enough to lend me some while we waited. The service was occasionally a bit disorganized, but the servers are young, and we understand that they need time to find their feet. They did their best despite a few minor oversights. A little more organization and a smile from some of them would simply make the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, this is a restaurant with a beautiful setting and a lot of potential. A few improvements to the service, cooking methods, and portion sizes would allow for a quality-to-price ratio more in line with the prices charged. Nevertheless, we had a pleasant experience thanks to the ambiance, and we hope these few points can be addressed.

25/08/2026: Fantastic hotel, we had a room for 4, absolutely superb!! The bed was super comfortable, a real treat for a restful night before hitting the road again for our holiday with the kids.

03/06/2026: Ate in the hotel restaurant, the butchers choice sirloin steak was just awfull, tough and chewy, probably the worst i can remember having. Its a shame because this is a nice hotel.

30/05/2026: We stayed here several times, always happy. However this time was disappointing. I wasn’t aware of rooms in another building being part of the hotel. Unfortunately those rooms are far inferior to the main stylish part of the hotel. The rooms are not renovated, not as cozy and reachable via labyrinth of stairs and corridors. I will be more specific when making reservation next time. If you want to experience Le Rempart from its best side make sure you specify you want to stay in the main building - then you get a truly quality stay.

22/07/2026: We had a wonderful time at Le Grand Café with friends for lunch. The terrace, shaded by magnificent plane trees, is particularly pleasant, especially in good weather. The service is quick and efficient. As for the food, it's flawless: high-quality dishes, beautifully presented and delicious, all homemade! A truly great place that I highly recommend!

25/07/2026: Romantic dinner for our anniversary, booked by my husband as a surprise. The setting is indeed nice, with a pleasant musical duo/singer, but it's a large restaurant with a lot of coming and going. The service was provided by a very young team; they came to ask us if we wanted dessert while we were still waiting for our main course (little hiccups can happen). As for the meal... well, what can I say except that it was bland, overcooked, underseasoned, and poorly presented. For starters, a Caesar salad with what I suspect was a pre-made dressing, a rather tasteless bruschetta that was difficult to cut, then octopus on a bed of pea and new potato purée—the octopus was far too overcooked, the peas were completely unseasoned, and the Asian tartare was inedible. Expensive for what it was. I was very, very disappointed with this restaurant, which somewhat spoiled my evening. We certainly won't be back and wouldn't recommend it.

02/09/2026: We just stopped by and bought several takeaway meals, including one with a slice of pizza. It was cold; the employee hadn't heated it up, and to top it off, her service was far from pleasant! Avoid this place.
