03/06/2026: The hotel is alright, but my rating reflects the quality/price ratio for a 3-star hotel in a small town. The hotel is well-located, with a nice restaurant, but a bit pricey compared to what you can find in Monceaux. The service was average (no ATM for late-night needs). As for the room, a huge disappointment. When booking, there's no mention of whether some rooms have air conditioning and others don't. For €90: - No air conditioning (just a fan...) - Tiny bathroom - No power outlet near the bed or desk for working. The only outlet is under the radiator, practically on the floor (handy for a spare fan...). They offer you an extension cord to cross the room... very stylish. This hotel doesn't justify its price and deserves a 2-star rating, not 3.

30/05/2026: Our superior room was very nice specially with aircon BUT very strange that a double room with two occupants only had one small towel and one large towel! Dinner was ok, nothing special and overpriced and understaffed! Breakfast was ok but no croissants as we got there “late” Free car park

07/06/2026: The takeaway salads are a real lettuce pitiful; there's practically only green salad, and the quantity is disappointing for the price. Luckily, I had a chocolate mousse to stave off hunger. I miss the previous owner, who in my opinion was much better in terms of both quantity and quality...

05/06/2026: We used to go there four or five times a month with the previous owners. It was such a gem; nothing should have changed, just continued with the same team. The new owner's vision is undoubtedly different, or perhaps he's facing a challenge: how to get customers to leave in record time. He's on the right track.

24/05/2026: What a fantastic find! We had a family room with a lake view. The bathroom was very spacious, and the toilet was in a separate area. The beds were wonderful! We slept very well. The area in front of the room was perfect for that lovely evening. The grounds are well-maintained and truly beautiful, especially with a dog. We were able to pick up the key at the restaurant across the street. The breakfast for €10 per person was good, and we had the perfect start to our vacation day! Thank you so much for the warm welcome! We would love to stop by again when we're passing through!

27/04/2026: Excellent welcome, comfortable and quiet room. I had a truly enjoyable 3-week stay! The added bonus was the garden furniture outside the room, perfect for enjoying the sun!

26/06/2026: For 25 years, we've been stopping at the Forum on our way to and from the South of France. We appreciate the garden atmosphere, the friendliness of the staff, and the rustic charm of the building. The food is always delicious and carefully prepared. And the Macon Rosé is an added treat. We'll be back again this year.

20/06/2026: I have edited my review because it might not have been complete: Service very unfriendly. You don't feel welcome: There is a beautiful garden, which I think appeals to many people. We were subsequently assigned a table in an uninviting corner. We would have liked to switch to a table in the garden, but that was not to the liking of the staff. After some negotiation, we were assigned a new table, but we noticed this throughout the entire evening because of the service. I think this is the wrong approach because there was more than enough space in the garden and quite a few tables were still free once we left. Food not amazing. Doesn't have anything to do with Italian food in the slightest.

18/05/2026: We ate at Le Verre Galant restaurant, located on Place Saint-Vincent in the pedestrian center of Chalon-sur-Saône. The restaurant has a terrace overlooking the square with a direct view of the cathedral. Inside, the atmosphere is that of a brasserie. The menu offers traditional French cuisine, with a nod to regional Burgundian specialties. We saw typical appetizers such as duck terrine with confit duck breast or poached eggs with Epoisses cream. The main courses follow the same style, with dishes like eggs meurette, chicken supreme with Epoisses sauce, and more classic cuts of meat. We ultimately chose the butcher's cut with Roquefort sauce. The presentation was simple and appetizing, and the portions were generous. The service was friendly and attentive. The drinks menu perfectly complements the meal with a genuine selection of Burgundy wines served by the glass, such as Rully, Mercurey, and Petit Chablis. It's a very good restaurant (offering unbeatable value for money) that we enjoyed for a delicious meal near the cathedral.

16/05/2026: Pleasant waiters, some very good dishes, a bit of a wait and a few oversights, but it seemed to me that the waiter must have been new. Good value for money.

28/06/2026: The cappuccino we ordered today was horrible. Weak coffee and some kind of watery foam. For 5,50 euro per cappuccino.

09/07/2026: We were strolling around... We saw the daily special: mussels, fries, dessert... The restaurant was full, but the staff found us a table from inside, moved it outside, and voilà, the experience was perfect. Excellent mussels in generous portions. A generous dessert and a very reasonable price. Truly, an excellent place!

09/07/2026: It's perfect! There's something for everyone! Beautiful salads! Generous crepes! A magnificent setting! A must-visit in our lovely city!

29/06/2026: The restaurant offered a very French plat du jour at a reasonable price. However, I did feel a bit force-fed as the service between courses was so quick. I can't comment on the accommodation.

15/04/2026: This is rock bottom! It can't last at this rate. Catastrophic service, mediocre food, cold plates... and to top it all off, they insist on cash payment, supposedly due to a problem with the card reader. I asked, "Since when?" The answer was "since yesterday." So why weren't we informed about this when we made our reservation or when we arrived?! A complete rip-off! Another one that's going to close down!!

14/03/2026: Excellent cuisine with sophisticated and flavorful dishes. You can taste the chef's creativity and the quality of the ingredients. A delight every time! Highly recommended!

16/11/2025: A terrible experience. No respect for the customer. I had a reserved table for four, but when I arrived... the door was locked! There was a light on inside the restaurant, but it was closed! I had left my number, but I wasn't notified.

21/06/2026: Having known this place for many years, I can only offer a comparison of the different meals I've had at this establishment, which has seen better days. My latest disappointing experience: The wait staff were very friendly but constantly running around, despite the terrace being two-thirds full. The fried food was perfectly sized but very dry; beware of the pre-cooked bits. The frogs' legs in cream sauce were swimming in flavorless, boxed cream. The fries were McCain's (Fry 'n Dip) industrial fries. Couldn't they put in a little more effort? The ice cream sundae was basic, the ice cream was entry-level. The passion for the craft is gone. What a shame... just another one gone. Soon there won't be any reason to go to a restaurant. Sincerely, R. Babou

21/06/2026: Mixed feelings... the meal was delicious, the servers very friendly, but the wait was far too long... We arrived at 7:45 pm and left at 11 pm??? An hour's wait between courses... I think there might have been a problem in the kitchen, but in that case, they should simply inform the customers. Otherwise, everything was great.
