24/11/2025: A place like few others left in France! Arriving on our motorcycles, a bit dirty after a ride through the forest, we were warmly welcomed by the owner and invited to discover the local cuisine prepared by his wife. If you're passing through the region, it's well worth a visit, provided you have a sense of humor 😉 It will remain a very fond memory and a wonderful encounter for us.

22/08/2025: Four of us had a delicious three course set menu, with four choices for each course, for €32 each plus drinks. We sat outside and were served by the friendly host and his wife who prepared our meals. A very enjoyable time was had by all. I would certainly recommend.

22/09/2024: If you ever want to order cold drinks after a hot summer day, it's simply impossible... Yes yes from 6 p.m. the staff will tell you (without further explanation) that the drinks service is no longer available, on a Saturday, at 6:15 p.m., in the city center... The comedy of this situation! It's something to laugh about but I understand that my two poor drinks were not tempting enough to increase the turnover at the end of the day. Probably lazy on the part of the staff to have to go get two drinks and collect 15 poor euros... The terrace was almost full of people who, like us, were drinking drinks, and the funny thing is that when we came back 30 minutes later, there were no people inside or out. Obviously drinkers are turned away from this establishment like at the entrance to a nightclub, in 20 years and even in larger cities I have never seen or heard this excuse. Having asked people in the industry, they have never heard that too 😂 In short, if you are going to drink at this address, move on.

29/10/2024: We stopped by, to have a drink on the terrace, a half 25cl (single beer) €3.50, a small orange juice (plastic bottle), €4. We find the price excessive, okay it's summer, but still...

19/10/2024: Be vary wary of this establishment - the Trip Advisor star ratings mostly pre-date the change of management. Although the restaurant looks quite cute, it is obvious that the current management are either clueless, or skirt around environmental rules and legislation to do things at minimum cost. The noisy and highly odoriferous extractor system has recently been installed on the cheap and without the necessary authorisations, at the detriment of local neighbours and the charming village square. Bags of fly-tipped rubbish are left on the lane by the side door overnight, an attraction to vermin and an eyesore. If these highly visible problems are evident to a client stopping by from time to time for a drink, just imagine what hygiene rules and regulations may be compromised behind the closed doors of the kitchen!

31/08/2024: I rarely leave reviews but I had to because the staff and the dinner were remarkable. We spent a pleasant evening with a little 2 year old. It's not always easy to stay at the table but the gentleman was happy. 'remarkable kindness and understanding... I recommend this address we will come back with pleasure

13/09/2024: Nous avons pour la première fois depuis des années sur Sarlat franchi la porte de ce bel établissement perché sur les hauteurs de la ville . Malheureusement cette soirée était accompagnée d'un fort orage ce qui nous a pas permis de profiter de la splendide terrasse et sa vue spectaculaire. Le repas fût donc servi dans la grande et jolie salle .Les plats choisis sur la carte , on tous été d'une excellente qualité , finesse dans la présentation , et produits frais de cette belle région gastronomique . Le service excellent , le seul petit désagrément fût le brouhaha important compte tenu du nombre de personnes , et la chaleur , la clim n'ayant pas été mise en route . Espérons que la prochaine fois on pourra déjeuné sur la terrasse .

16/09/2024: Wonderful, creative, very good tasting menu "la Folie de chef" for the price of 29€. The photos speak for themselves. Today we sat on the terrace overlooking the river, the interior is also very pretty.

14/01/2025: Come, discover and taste. A 2-star hotel that deserves much more due to the quality of the welcome and kindness. The restaurant does not denote this; quality of dishes, freshness of products, everything in "simplicity".... Don't ask yourself the question, if you are in the Bugue region, come. 22/12/2024: We came for a stay in 2022 and another stay in 2024 where we discovered the enormous transformations of the very clean rooms (comfortable bed and mattresses), of the welcoming breakfast room where we found a range of pastries, brioche, muffins , madeleines, pancakes, cereals, fruits, yogurts, cheese, ham, coffee, teas and fresh juices for 10 euros. Chef Bastien treated us to cod crumble, duck leg confit, butternut cappuccino with truffle whipped cream and the best dessert, the ❤️ pistachio flow and lemon tenderness 🤩😍. Very good mention for Sabrina's welcome and her experienced service. Truly an address to remember!!! Don’t hesitate to make the detour all year round.
