18/10/2025: Very disappointed with the restaurant since we wanted to eat. We were very disappointed with the staff who did not take care of us, I had asked for parmesan when they served me the pasta but I received it after my dish was FINISHED. In the photos of the restaurant they show us pizzas but there are not even any. When it came to paying the bill at the counter they preferred to chat with their friends they did not even speak to us to tell us the price! In short I will never go back and I do not recommend it and other people I talk to about it have noticed the same thing as me.

12/03/2026: Excellent products. The dishes prepared by the Chef are a real treat… (kugelhopf, pretzels, Black Forest cake, and more). The service is not only professional but also very warm and makes you want to try everything.

27/07/2026: A Caesar salad with four lettuce leaves in a shallow bowl, topped with three tiny pieces of fried chicken (3 mm x 2 cm) that I couldn't eat, all for €23! That's outrageous! And ridiculous! Today the menu says "Homemade Fries," but after checking, the waiter tells us they're frozen! Outrageous!

30/07/2026: Access to the bar is really difficult; the signage is poor. The welcome, from both the servers and the manager, was unpleasant—a cold and rushed reception. We went there in the morning, and it was a mistake: the service was subpar, and we felt like we were bothering them. I won't be going back.

We were already won over by the tasting, and our guests loved it and found the dessert delicious. The number cake for our son's 20th birthday the following day was also perfect!

06/07/2026: This establishment is absolutely to be avoided. We had a very disappointing experience. A friend, who arrived later than us, didn't have white pants or shorts for the white party. Yet, several other people present also disregarded the dress code and entered without any problem. Once we returned to the entrance to accompany our friend, communication with the security guards at the entrance became very difficult, and their tone was anything but courteous. Faced with this situation, we decided to leave. I wanted to go back inside to tell my friends and retrieve my belongings, but a guard refused me entry. After insisting on getting my things back, another guard grabbed my wrist and pushed me, telling me I couldn't stay there. We left with a frustrating experience which, in our opinion, reflects a lack of training for the security staff and is a consequence of this establishment's policies. We do not recommend this place, especially for its parties. I've never seen such kindness, it doesn't even deserve one star 😏

24/07/2026: The welcome at Restaurant Chez Carles, Chartreuse is truly warm; what I remember is that the quality is definitely there despite a large number of customers.

07/04/2026: Unfortunately, we will not be able to come to your restaurant. The reason is simple: motorhomes are not accommodated fairly. The pitch is sloping, cluttered with branches, and the area looks more like an abandoned space than a place designed to welcome customers. Furthermore, motorhome owners are not travelers and should not be treated as such. This is not the first time we have encountered this situation, which makes it all the more regrettable. We would have liked to stop at your establishment, but under these circumstances, we prefer to move on. Sincerely.

30/12/2025: The setting is remarkable and we enjoyed our lunch. Two points of disappointment: it was far too cold in the dining room and the price of the estate's wines was very disappointing (a white wine costing €40 in the shop was billed at €115 in the restaurant).

13/07/2026: I must say, I have to commend the service. There were only 10 minutes left before closing time, and they were incredibly kind and served us food. It was excellent, the wine was very good, I highly recommend it.

The staff is proud to represent the Médoc region in an elegant setting that restores the town's former glory. The restaurant offers an eclectic menu while maintaining a focus on local specialties. Finally, châteaux are no longer the only ones offering accommodation and tours that are often overly focused. The room rates are reasonable and the services are of high quality. A "great find" in Pauillac!

30/06/2026: Everything is homemade with quality ingredients, and you can taste the difference. I love going there whenever I'm in Bordeaux to enjoy a scone and tea for breakfast. It's also ideal for an afternoon snack; the pastries are delicious.

23/05/2026: Excellent lemon tart (still a little warm, but that proves how fresh the pastries are) in which you can taste the true flavor of the ingredients carefully chosen by the pastry chef. Bonus: the terrace on a quiet street. The owner is a bit pushy about ordering more... but there's no obligation to do so.

31/07/2026: Lunch had started off well enough with my colleagues… The drinks arrived quickly, then we waited 25 minutes before we could finally order. And then, a general surprise: there were only two dishes left on the menu (Caesar salad or carpaccio), “a problem with supplies.” Clearly, they preferred to make us wait rather than inform us when we arrived. The dishes eventually arrived. The Caesar salad looked more like a green salad with three pieces of chicken, a little corn, a few tomatoes… and no dressing. We had to ask for it, and finally received a simple vinaigrette. Not an apology, not a gesture of goodwill, and a waiter who had suddenly vanished. The best was yet to come: a few minutes later, the table next to us was offered chicken skewers. Common sense had clearly left the restaurant before we had. €140 spent, a hefty bill, and a rather bland experience, but at least my colleagues had a good laugh. It's a shame that the only really substantial dish was the apology menu… which, too, was sold out.

19/07/2026: The service at Le Vesuve restaurant is absolutely exceptional; you immediately feel at home. The servers are very discreet and attentive, allowing you to enjoy your meal in complete peace and without any pressure.

09/07/2026: It's very good. Well prepared. A very good meal. Plus, parking is easy with the new solar-powered carport they've installed. We had a pleasant time with colleagues. I recommend the rum baba, which is delicious.

12/04/2026: We ordered a birthday cake for 15 adults and the experience was simply extraordinary. Not only was the cake beautiful, but it was also delicious. Special mention goes to the generous portions; even after half the guests went back for seconds, there was still plenty left, and the slices were very generous! A huge thank you for this high-quality work; we thoroughly enjoyed it.

05/04/2026: This will be the last time, for good. I ordered a cake for my son's birthday and called a few days later to make sure his name was spelled correctly and to explain that it was important, as it was his 30th birthday. Of course, when I picked up the cake this morning, there was no plaque, so they just threw it together on a hastily cut chocolate plaque, his name misspelled, a plastic "Happy Birthday," and no "30" on the cake itself. It was a huge disappointment, knowing how important this is for a mother, and I made that clear to Ms. Besson when I spoke to her on the phone. But it seems we don't share the same values, and especially not the same level of customer service. And since this is the second time, it's goodbye for good. Not even as a backup.
