29/11/2025: The hotel is charming, and the staff is phenomenal. Dinner was among the best I had during my stay in France. However, there was one major issue that affected my experience.
I stayed in the old house, room 1782, and there was a constant loud dragging noise—so strong and so frequent that I could feel the vibrations through the floor. I was often woken up very early or kept awake late at night. At first, I thought it was other guests, but the sound was so regular that it seemed more like pipes or a door being dragged repeatedly.
I reported the issue to the front desk and mentioned it three nights in a row, but nothing was done to investigate or resolve it. Unfortunately, I felt as if I wasn’t being taken seriously, which was very disappointing. Proper rest is one of the most important reasons to choose a hotel, especially one with a minimum age requirement for guests, and I wasn’t able to sleep well at all.
We stayed four nights, and the constant dragging noise left me exhausted and frustrated. Despite how beautiful the hotel and the location are, I was honestly relieved to check out. Breakfast was also quite mediocre, though there is a bakery down the road with good coffee and pastries.
I truly believe more effort could have been made to identify the source of the noise (it seemed like a door used regularly by staff). I even spoke with the Maître d’Hôtel, but the problem was never addressed, and nothing was communicated to me.
I value hospitality above all. All the luxury in the world and even the best food cannot replace the fact that my concerns were not taken seriously during our stay. I loved the hotel, but I won’t be coming back. If you stay here, do NOT stay in room 1782 if you value quiet and rest.

01/09/2024: Magnifique en tout !! Cassez votre tirelire et offrez vous un grand souvenir culinaire ; si vous avez une grosse tirelire alors n'hésitez pas et passez la nuit là car c'est aussi bien que le restaurant. Vous ne regretterez pas un euro dépensé mais vous en dépenserez...
26/08/2024: À La Table de Pavie, l'expérience gastronomique se transforme en une véritable immersion sensorielle.
D'ordinaire peu enclins à partager nos impressions en ligne, nous sommes pourtant si enchantés par notre passage dans ce restaurant deux étoiles que nous tenons à en témoigner ici.
Dès notre réservation, Margot a eu la délicatesse de nous contacter pour connaître nos préférences et créer un lien avec cette table que nous devions découvrir.
À notre arrivée, l'accueil chaleureux et attentionné nous a immédiatement fait sentir attendus et valorisés.
La bâtisse est splendide, et la terrasse, avec sa vue imprenable sur le village et la vallée, offre un cadre idéal pour savourer l'apéritif en toute quiétude.
Benoît et Guillaume, passionnés et attentifs, ont su être à notre écoute et nous ont guidés avec finesse dans le choix des vins, en parfaite harmonie avec les menus. Leur dévouement pour leur métier et cette maison est palpable et fort appréciable.
Chaque plat, des mises en bouche aux mignardises, est un immense régal pour les papilles. Les saveurs éclatent, les surprises sont au rendez-vous, et l'ensemble est fort réussi.
Pour avoir dégusté la veille une autre table gastronomique, le haut niveau est clairement perceptible tant l'exécution est maîtrisée et chaque bouchée un ravissement.
Chaque plat est un voyage gustatif à lui seul. Les moules, l'omelette soufflée au caviar, la tomate et son sorbet intense, ainsi que la généreuse langoustine, nous ont émerveillés.
Le riz cuisiné au vin, accompagné de coques, est tout simplement remarquable. Même le pigeon, habituellement loin de nos préférences, a su nous conquérir par l'originalité de sa cuisson et son goût inédit.
Chaque membre du personnel, du chef Faramond aux serveurs, a fait preuve d'une gentillesse et d'une attention exceptionnelles, rendant ce dîner mémorable. Retrouver Margot en personne, après notre échange téléphonique, a été un plaisir, et a contribuée, avec le reste des serveurs à faire de ce repas un succès.
Nos moindres désirs ont été anticipés, chacun est généreux d'anecdotes et de partages autour des plats et des vins, ce qui est un véritable plaisir.
Mention spéciale pour le choix du Sauternes servi avec le fromage. Tout était orchestré pour notre plus haute satisfaction, faisant de cette soirée à La Table de Pavie un coup de cœur absolu.
Cette table mérite amplement le détour et une plus grande reconnaissance.
Nous y retournerons avec des amis à coup sûr, pour leur faire découvrir cette superbe expérience.
Un grand merci à l'ensemble des acteurs pour ce moment suspendu.

Oh dear. Overly sensitive owners who don't like criticism?
Asked on the evening if we were happy and took great offense when we said no!
We were spoken to rudely and told they were "very busy"... Would we like to help??
I have eaten in many Michelin starred restaurants in several countries over the years and am very aware of what quality is.
This place is not.
Owners think they are something special but they are not. Barely average food , uncomfortable premises, VERY poor service from people who really should not be working in hospitality.
I stand by my comments.
Service slow. 2 hours for service.
Poor.
Dissatisfied.
Disappointed.

04/09/2024: We decided to get off our Viking cruise and venture into town. Like getting away, definitely from the boat, but even more from tourist traps. Those are here in Blaye. I can’t blame them. They get more business that way but we actually like going where there is no English translation and where we need to try a bit more. If you are like us this is the place for you. We got no accommodations. We asked about English when we entered. There was the abrupt French NO. But we understood that and stayed put. The guy came back. We asked for two, in French, and were shown to a table where we waited and waited and waited. We were about to quietly leave since every single table that came after us, at least three, were served their drinks and food before we were even served water. We were patient. I encourage you to be. We tried our best to perfect our French and when he finally returned we ordered in French. He got a little friendlier. The food was amazing. The chef is to be commended. We would return. The last bit was being charged for three Perrier even though he only brought us two. He never brought the third. We tried, in French, to explain. He laughed and did nothing but bring us the check with a charge for three which we never received. In fact he laughed each time we attempted to ask. We finally simply paid it. You should too. They are mostly playing with you and attempting to make you a fool but I can say the food is worth it and as Americans perhaps we deserve it. You will get a great meal. Be brave. If you aren’t. You can literally simply walk up the lane about 100 feet. Many places just 100 yards away are willing to play the game but I don’t think you will eat as well. And truthfully. We need to try to walk that extra 100 feet. It will cause stress and anxiety which they believe we deserve and we probably do. If I ever return to Blaze I will return here

28/08/2024: I visited this restaurant on 26/8/24, arriving later than 14:30 after being stuck in a traffic jam. Even though the lunch service had finished and the staff were cleaning up, I was welcomed with a smile and offered a choice of 3 meals. The food was good and the portions ample. The prices were very reasonable. Well done!
27/08/2024: I'm only giving it 4 stars, not 5, because the cashier is not at all pleasant, barely says hello, and answers questions halfheartedly.
The dining room is a bit noisy, but the cooked dishes are very good.

22/07/2024: L'endroit est jolie. Les plats sont de très bonne qualités ( frites maison , nuggets maison) . En revanche les quantités sont légers et le prix trop.cher selon nous.
Beaucoup attentes pour les desserts qui n'ont pas été servit tous au même moments..
Accueil est moyenne.

A delicious gastronomic experience!!
I chose the suggested menu with salad and jamon and a main course with octopus and potatoes.
Delicious dessert.
It is worth remembering that it is not open on Saturdays and Sundays.
