15/07/2026: Four pizzas ordered, four pizzas ready in no time. It's takeout, there's no dining area, but frankly, the organization alone is worth the trip: it runs like clockwork, everyone knows what they're doing, no one waits. And above all, it's delicious. The dough is perfectly made, light, and easy to digest. You can eat a whole pizza and get up from the table without feeling heavy, which is rarer than you might think. The ingredients are high quality; you can taste it from the first bite. There's a good selection, from simple to more elaborate, and the value for money is excellent across the entire menu. We ate them while watching the France-Spain match. The game didn't do us any good, but the pizzas did. For me, it's the best pizza in the Gier Valley. If you're in the area, go without hesitation.

24/09/2026: There were five of us. The plates were nicely presented, but some dishes lacked flavor. The atmosphere was pleasant and intimate. The bottle of red wine (€56) was served at room temperature (almost 25°C; I should have refused it when tasting it), which is unacceptable in a restaurant of this caliber. Furthermore, we had to ask for more wine, and after the service, some glasses were still nearly empty, forcing us to order another half-bottle (from the cellar this time) so everyone could have a properly filled glass. At this price point, a sommelier would be necessary to avoid these kinds of mistakes.

20/09/2026: We had dinner there on Saturday evening, September 19th. It was a very good restaurant; the food was of excellent quality, and the welcome and service were top-notch. We have absolutely no complaints. We will definitely return.

28/09/2026: We chose this establishment to celebrate my partner's birthday, mainly because it has a good reputation in the area. Unfortunately, we were quickly disappointed… All evening, we felt rushed. Every half hour, someone would come to remind us what needed to be cleared, what to do next, that we needed to move on… In the end, we felt more like we had to keep to their schedule than enjoy our evening in peace. For a birthday, this is quite oppressive and, above all, not very pleasant. The food, on the other hand, was good, and the platters were excellent, as was the cake. But we were also very disappointed by the lack of any gesture of goodwill, despite a substantial bill and several bottles of wine being purchased throughout the evening. When we expressed our disappointment, we were simply told that the owner wasn't there and therefore nothing could be done. We would have really appreciated a bit more flexibility, attentiveness, and business acumen. It's a shame, because the venue and the food had everything we needed for a lovely evening.

05/09/2026: A lovely family meal for four at Carré Pétanque. The food was decent, nothing exceptional, but perfectly acceptable. And the waiter was fantastic, very friendly 👍 However, a huge disappointment regarding the pétanque courts. This is Obut, after all, the flagship and image of French pétanque! The courts are sorely lacking in gravel; sometimes you're practically playing on wood, and the condition of the boules provided is frankly appalling. For a brand like Obut, this is a real shame. When you represent French pétanque to this extent, you should have impeccable courts and equipment. The storefront should reflect the brand's image.

11/04/2026: The buffet was a manageable size, but still very, very noisy. A bit pricey!

03/04/2026: This is the first self-service restaurant with so many high-quality choices. An address to remember. We'll be back as soon as possible. Even if it means going out of our way! 🤩

21/07/2026: Very disappointed. The grated cheese was incredibly greasy, the chocolate mousse was rock hard and definitely not homemade. For the price, it wasn't a very generous portion.

01/09/2026: The pizza wasn't great. The dough, the tomato sauce, the ingredients weren't good quality. Sure, it's cheap, but they rip you off with the toppings. Last time I ordered a cheese pizza. Tomato sauce, grated cheese, olives... I only got one olive on the whole pizza 🤣 You don't have to be picky to say it's the best pizzeria in Roanne

16/09/2026: Craving some good fried food, we went to Auberge du Pont and, as always, the fried food was delicious and the portion generous. This inn has been run by the same owners for over 30 years, and the food is still consistently good and the portions are still as generous as ever, despite current inflation. Keep up the good work! Your waitresses and the owner maintain their cheerful and welcoming atmosphere, the setting is beautiful, and the value for money is excellent. Thanks also to the cook; I absolutely loved your fried food. Have a great end to the season and see you next year!
