The beautifully presented dishes, a feast for the eyes, awaken our taste buds and ignite our pleasure in tasting them. A wide selection of rum and/or whisky will delight connoisseurs. The Champagne and Wine list is extensive and impressive, offering epicureans plenty to enjoy.

12/08/2026: Based on previous reviews, we decided to make a reservation at Les Canailles. We initially wanted to book through the website, but saw that a credit card was required to make a reservation. Since we were staying in an apartment just two doors down, we went in to ask the staff if we could make a reservation in person. In a rather unfriendly manner, we were told that reservations could only be made online in a specific way. This made us question whether we still wanted to go, but we decided to give it a chance and made a reservation four days in advance. When we arrived, we asked if we could sit outside, but were immediately given a firm “no” and shown to a table far in the corner. We decided to have a drink first, hoping that an outdoor table might become available. We were asked twice quite quickly if we were ready to order. We said we wanted a little more time to decide, after which we were completely ignored by all the staff for an entire hour. No one came back to our table. We really wanted to enjoy the evening, and since we had already paid the €15 per person deposit, we tried to make the best of it. At one point, an outdoor table became available, but it was not offered to us. Instead, it was given to walk-in guests who had not made a reservation. Eventually, we decided to leave and accept the loss of our deposit, despite how much we had been looking forward to the evening. Surprisingly, the waiters were extremely confused about why we wanted to leave. After a loud discussion in the restaurant, we paid and went to another restaurant instead. Definitely not recommended!

22/07/2026: Excellent regional cuisine. We loved the Carbonnade and the Potvöshe. The welcome and service were very warm, and we had a wonderful time. We highly recommend Le Saint Théodore and will definitely return during our holiday in the North.

04/04/2026: For my first visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the welcome, the service, and the food. I had a Welsh rarebit, and it was by far the best I've ever had. Truly exceptional—the texture, the taste, everything was perfect. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the desire to serve a high-quality dish. I highly recommend it and I will definitely be back.

21/03/2026: Great little restaurant! A big thumbs up for the speculoos apple tart! Everything is homemade, and I discovered a local specialty: Welsh rarebit! Cheddar cheese, bread, ham, and an egg—delicious! The chef actually comes to chat with his customers, which is rare these days, and the waiter was fantastic! Thank you! ❤️

24/08/2026: I was invited to a wedding anniversary celebration at Rive restaurant this weekend. It was fantastic! The menu was incredible, the waitresses were very friendly and they adapted perfectly to the pace of the family gathering. The banquet room is super convenient! From the very first minute, everything was perfect: a beautiful ambiance, a warm welcome, incredibly friendly and attentive service, and of course, cuisine that truly delights. The dishes are not only beautifully presented, but their flavors are on a completely different level. Fresh, high-quality ingredients, perfectly balanced aromas, and creative cuisine that still manages to be pleasantly down-to-earth. Every course was a real experience – you can immediately tell that the food is cooked with passion and skill. We were particularly impressed that, despite the sophisticated cuisine, the atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed and not at all stuffy. This combination is precisely what makes the visit so special. For us, it's a clear 5-star recommendation and a must-visit in Calais! ❤️ Anyone who enjoys truly excellent food should absolutely not miss this restaurant.
