13/04/2026: Le Comptoir du Malt in Liévin truly deserves recognition. About three months ago, after a business lunch, I left my laptop and several files there. The team found them, carefully stored them, and then returned them to me with great professionalism. I sincerely thank Kevin, Tom, Léa, and Raïanne for their integrity, thoroughness, and dedication to service. This kind of attitude speaks volumes about the human qualities of an establishment. Beyond this incident, I have always appreciated the warm welcome, the quality of service, and the atmosphere of the place. A reliable, honest, and professional team. We contacted them via Facebook a week or so beforehand and whilst they don't normally allow reservations to be made this way, they made an exception as my spoken French isn't great. Wonderful authentic atmosphere, very friendly staff and chef / owner and the food was simply amazing. Great wine choices too. We liked it so much we tried to come back 2 days later for another visit but alas they were full.. Next time we're in Calais, we'll definitely be coming back!

26/04/2026: A warm welcome from very friendly people who were genuinely concerned with customer satisfaction. Quick service, beautifully presented dishes. The vegetables were cooked to perfection in my opinion, slightly crisp to enhance the delicate flavors. There was a real attention to detail in the arrangement of the food on the plates. Throughout the meal, we felt a sense of well-being in a calm, well-decorated, and very clean space, with excellent service from start to finish. There is a large parking lot covered in gravel, which is not very accessible for wheelchair users, and I didn't notice any designated disabled parking spaces. There are fast charging stations for electric vehicles.

12/04/2026: Very disappointed, we won't be going back! When we arrived as a group of five, including one person with reduced mobility, the waitress wanted to seat us on banquettes! The aperitif arrived at the same time as the main courses, the children had to wait for their drinks, and we weren't asked if we wanted anything to drink with our meal. We were ordered a "gourmet coffee" without coffee, and the coffee arrived 15 minutes later, cold—it must have been forgotten on the bar. The Flemish carbonnade tasted like it had been in the refrigerator (defrosted), and the homemade cordon bleu was dry. The salad had no dressing.

01/05/2026: It's excellent! I've been to this bistro twice now and I've thoroughly enjoyed it! If only there were a few more like it near me. The meals are homemade, as are the desserts. The service is impeccable, with virtually no wait. It's a very pretty, welcoming place with a nice concept where the menus are displayed high up.

21/04/2026: Excellent value for money. The calf's head was perfect for those who enjoy it. The wines were more than adequate and reasonably priced. The service was provided by two staff members, a contrast between the "very serious" and the "checkered shirt and suspenders" types, but both were efficient and attentive (they immediately corrected the ice cream flavors). The atmosphere was very pleasant and intimate. We come back every year.

06/05/2026: A truly wonderful time was had by all. The staff were incredibly welcoming. We loved everything! 😀 And thank you again to the student who kindly helped me crack open my crab's claws 😉, as I was a complete novice at that.
