12/05/2026: The Hotel Restaurant Le Normand is a charming hotel, tastefully and carefully decorated, and very quiet. The bedding is of very good quality. Well located near the beach, a 3-minute walk away. Several shops and the market are nearby. The staff is attentive to its guests. The daily specials are varied and generous. If you would like to try teurgoule, you can enjoy a dessert that won first prize at the 2026 French Championship. 🎖 We were very happy with our visit and will return.

14/04/2026: The interior is lovely, a proper restaurant where you feel right at home. Homemade food, using fresh ingredients, is a real plus! The waitresses are very kind and professional. The dessert and daily tart are delicious! I highly recommend this place! Plus, they have a set lunch menu (starter, main course, dessert) for €17.50!

13/05/2026: A quick stop after a long, rainy day; we were looking for a restaurant within walking distance. And what a pleasant surprise! A small, welcoming, and beautifully decorated restaurant. Friendly women inside, a generous plate of food, and the banana split... mmm, a real treat!

03/05/2026: ⚠️ New Owner ⚠️ The food is basic, the fries are mass-produced, there's hardly any food on the plate... the meat is inedible... I don't recommend it, especially considering the price we paid and still being hungry afterwards.

29/04/2026: What a great place pizzeria La Base in Bayeux is! 😊 The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome right away. And the pizzas… absolutely delicious! Fresh, generously topped, and exactly what you want when you’re craving a really good pizza. Definitely recommended if you’re in the area!

25/03/2026: Discovered by chance, this restaurant has become our go-to spot whenever we're in Caen for medical appointments or during difficult times. The welcome and service are top-notch, even when the restaurant is full. The chef, who can be seen working in the kitchen, consistently demonstrates his talent by updating the daily menu and offering well-prepared dishes in generous portions. In short, a place to remember, where reservations are recommended and the staff is efficient and friendly.

15/04/2026: I drove past this place two years ago, and made a mental note to visit. Drove past it last weekend and fulfilled my wish. After many years in France, and many fish and chips meals, this is the BEST I've ever had here. Simple decor but with food like this, you don't need extravagant soundings. Estelle and Ben were really friendly and a joy to meet. My kids and I had fish and chips obviously and were not disappointed. The only place I have been to, offering both brown sauce AND malt vinegar as condiments! A true rarity. My partner (Normandy origins) was very happy with a burger topped with camembert. Finished the meal with a sticky toffee pudding, again a joy and rarity to have. If your British and want a true taste of home, stop by here. The welcome is simply remarkable: warm, attentive, and genuine, you immediately feel at ease. As for the food, it's flawless: flavorful dishes, beautifully presented, showcasing high-quality ingredients. The service is also impeccable, both professional and friendly. An address I highly recommend for a wonderful time, whether as a couple, with family, or with friends.

04/04/2026: We went there in the evening and then again the following day for lunch because we enjoyed the place, the meal, and the atmosphere so much. The service is excellent, the staff seems friendly, and the dishes are delicious, made with high-quality ingredients. The owner greets the customers in the dining room, which shows he's proud of what he offers, and rightly so.

08/03/2026: We were about to go in for lunch, then the owner came out to change the menu display. Not a hello, he simply complained about the other customers, with a haughty and disdainful air… we went to eat elsewhere 😉

06/03/2026: We ordered chicken as a main course and found pork cheeks on our plates without any warning before or after. The portions were rather small. I'll pass on this place next time.
