02/10/2026: I ordered the crispy chicken rice (sweet and sour sauce and chili) tonight. It was excellent, I thoroughly enjoyed it! A generous portion and inexpensive too. The service was top-notch. They're clearly hard workers, and the products are high quality. Thank you, I'll be back!

30/09/2026: Upon entering, we were immediately put off by the menu, which was in a state of dismal condition, prompting us to turn right around. If even a menu isn't presentable, there's no point in looking at what's on it or eating what's on offer. Isn't that the bare minimum?

12/09/2026: Great find in Bayeux! We hadn’t booked but managed to get an outside table. Our New Zealand waiter was excellent, friendly and attentive. The tenderloin steak with peppercorn sauce and potato patty was absolutely superb, I’m salivating thinking about it! The chicken supreme was also excellent, and the carafe of Merlot was very good and reasonably priced. Book ahead if you can.

I had the pleasure of discovering La Belle Époque's Sunday brunch, and I can say without hesitation that it's one of the best brunches I've ever experienced. The setting is sumptuous, refined, and bright, perfect for a delicious and convivial experience. The buffet is of exceptional quality: fresh produce, a magnificent selection of seafood, delicious hot dishes (special mention for the truffle spaghetti and the beef bourguignon!), and a dazzling array of desserts, each more tempting than the last. Every dish is carefully prepared and elegantly presented. But what truly stood out about this experience was the excellence of the service. All the staff were charming, attentive, and efficient. Empty plates were systematically replenished until the very last minute—a level of attention to detail I've never seen anywhere else! And to top it all off, just as we were about to leave, a lovely waitress called out to us kindly: "Why leave without having tea or coffee?" In an instant, she served us a hot drink with remarkable speed and kindness. This level of service, combined with the quality of the food, makes this brunch an unforgettable experience. Admittedly, the price (€95) is significant, but it is more than justified by the quality of the experience. A must-try in Deauville that I wholeheartedly recommend!

06/10/2026: Surprise menu, was super tasty. Would send friends and family here if they are in the area. The location is a bit further from the center, but definitely more than worth the walk.

06/06/2026: Husband and wife team bringing culinary excellence to Caen. This is not artsy fartsy food but traditional French home cooking at its best. We just finished our meal and we are so pleased. The restaurant was packed and the co-owner Marie was out front taking care of everyone. Would definitely recommend.

30/09/2026: The restaurant was recommended to us by our local hosts and diner at Le P’tit Resto was indeed an excellent experience in French food. Seated outside, with a beautiful view of the cathedral, we had a very nice 3-course diner, very well prepared and presented. The dark chocolate desert was fingerlicking good.

30/09/2026: This was our 2. visit to Bayeux, but our 1. chance to dine at Le P’tit Resto, it had always been fully booked before. Now we understand why! The service was outstanding. Our server spoke excellent English and stayed wonderfully calm even when the restaurant became very busy. She and her colleague managed everything with such warmth and skill. I’ve worked in hospitality myself, and I know how much that takes. Those two are worth their weight in gold. The food was just as impressive. The chefs deserve a star of their own! Every cent was worth it, and we would happily come back.

04/10/2026: The welcome and staff were friendly and efficient, especially considering the estimated wait time. The sushi was good; we had crispy honey and salmon, and we highly recommend it. The cocktails and the afternoon tea are also worth trying.

04/10/2026: We discovered this restaurant thanks to the reviews, and we weren't disappointed. The homemade coleslaw and soup are a nice change and absolutely delicious! The sushi is fantastic, and the friendly staff is a real bonus. Our new go-to spot for sushi in Caen!

27/08/2026: While on holiday in Normandy, we decided to have some pizzas. They were absolutely fantastic, both the pizzas and the service! The lady who served us was incredibly kind; we appreciated her warm welcome and the fact that she took the time to chat with her customers. As for the pizzas, they were very generously topped and delicious—we couldn't finish them! They even offered to let us take the leftovers home, which is quite unusual. The Bretons thank you, and we won't hesitate to come back again!

27/08/2026: I was recently in Sardinia; the pizza there was just so-so. The pizzas from La Base were perfect, smelling delicious and perfectly topped. With a large glass of Birra Moretti, it was pure bliss! Highly recommended.
