24/02/2024: Atypical setting, warm, with a soul. A very friendly welcome from the chef and his mother. Balanced cuisine, full of flavor that goes off the beaten track of haute cuisine. The Chef's passion is reflected in everything he does. A love of good produce from his vegetable garden, charcuterie and bread made by him. We had a great time. Note that it is rare to find a Chef who is both in the kitchen and serving and who takes the time to discuss his creativity with his customers. Very nice wine list at all prices. 21/02/2024: We loved our meal here! Really lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. Would particularly recommend the mushroom ravioli but also loved the goats cheese salad and vegetarian lasagne. Desserts also delicious, and lots of different options.

24/03/2024: We went there for lunch on a Sunday in March. Very courteous service, good food and a wonderful terrace make this day one of the highlights of our trip. A few very nice hours.

16/03/2024: No, the rooms are romantic but not luxurious. The public parking lot is 100 m away, but that's it for the "gentle" criticism The menu-based dinner was absolutely fantastic, no gimmicks, but pure taste and freshness, a real treat. The boss was able to talk to us about the four different types of cheese on the cheese board for almost 5 minutes, how, what, where from, why, with total enthusiasm! The rooms with incredible views are just the thing for not having to drive home after such an epicurean feast. And then a breakfast beyond all typical French breakfasts - superb! The support never left anything to be desired. A highlight!

06/04/2024: TO AVOID since the change of ownership! A warm welcome at first followed by an endless wait. More than an hour to have a free appetizer (a slice of raw ham rolled around a salad leaf and a crouton with bush garnished with a slice of Emmental cheese) before the starters… which arrived 2 by 2 every 10 minutes for a table of 8 people after an hour and a half... Our entries were followed by an additional hour of waiting... Added to this wait is the chef who is alone in the kitchen (hence the justification on the part of the waitress for the waiting time) who comes out to chat with the table next to ours without worrying about having started cooking our dishes. After an hour of waiting and the repetitive ringing of the microwave bell in the kitchen, we were finally served with bland dishes, cold for some and presented “canteen” style. After 10 minutes of tasting we decide to leave. For the bill I hope you are patient, we had to be 5 people around the cash register because Madam and Sir the owners no longer knew how to take out a note with VAT because as they clarified at the time of the reservation and on their door they do not take credit cards, because the bank terminal is out of order…. So here we were leaving after 2.5 hours and we were the least patient (and we had nevertheless clarified that we were in a hurry when taking the order) from the restaurant because there were still 2 tables that arrived before us.

04/04/2024: Change of ownership and team very recently. A period of adaptation is necessary with team training. The meals are good but the presentation is no longer the same.

26/03/2024: in thalassotherapy for a week in Antibe with my partner, we had a very good evening, everything was excellent, we couldn't find anything better in the area, really great. (deserves the star)

06/04/2024: Discovery menu concept that I really appreciate. But the dishes lack surprise, wow. On this kind of proposition we expect the universe of a chef and not just the good ones. And I have a big problem with the appetizer: a glass of “couscous” (semolina/raisin) with an emulsion on top and a carrot top. For what?? It's rubbish and one of the worst entries for a menu of this type. Good meat dish with a strong juice and the rest is decent. Veggie menu for my partner for the evening where the proteins were replaced twice by roasted onion, yeah... Finally wine by the glass: lack of choice and young wine: Croze Hermitage white 2023 & a Pineau noir en Coteaux Bourguignon 2022 (11&12€). I would have liked to have a slightly more sophisticated proposal to accompany the menu or even a wine pairing proposal. In conclusion, I may be too critical but this reflects disappointment in a promise that appealed to me and it turned out to be too dull for my taste.

03/04/2024: Reservation made after the TV report in January 2024. We had lunch there on Easter Day. Very warm welcome from the whole team. The “surprise” dishes were tasty, creative and seasonal. We feasted. Address to discover!

02/04/2024: We didn't have a reservation, the place was completely full and we couldn't come back tomorrow, but she made it possible for us to taste their amazing ducks for the first time , she did everything she could to make sure we have a great experience, The atmosphere is amazing, and the food is the best. 29/01/2024: My wife and I had the great pleasure of having our marriage here. It was absolutely spectacular. The night sky, the nature, the lakes, the streams, we had our dream celebration. Jean-Paul is very easy to work with, although he works by mountain rules, they are people of honour and if you say you are coming, you are coming and that's it. Which was very strange from my usual understanding with contracts and deposits. Jean-Paul is incredibly honourable and it was very unusual to work in this way for me. The food is unbelievable, I consider myself a foodie, I have been coming to the South of France for the last 15 years and the restaurant is among the top 3 food I have eaten in the area. This was a VERY pleasant surprise. There IS a taxi driver in the area with a mini-bus that you can get to drive you around. That is very necessary if bringing many people because the area is very remote. The accommodations are very very pleasant. We were very pleasantly pleased. The price is very fair and reasonable. We had a superb experience and we would love to go back soon.Thank you team Relais des Merveilles!
