22/09/2024: We had the opportunity to take advantage of this place for our friends' wedding and to sleep in the hotel. The garden area was sublime, the staff at the top, the meal delicious, we really had a great time there!

14/09/2024: Restaurant à l’ancienne comme on aimerait en revoir encore beaucoup avec une cuisine Française classique et réussie avec un service familial de très bonne qualité. Ce restaurant est en entrée de village et bénéficie d’un parking bien utile à l’arrière du bâtiment, la bâtisse est grande et bien entretenue pour profiter à de nombreux groupes (anniversaires, mariages , réunions familiales, etc…) de venir, sur réservation bien entendu, à 20-30-50 personnes sans crainte . Le professionnalisme de la famille fait ici la différence avec un restaurant classique.

19/09/2024: What an amazing hotel and restaurant in the heart of Alsace! So glad we took the advice of other travellers and gave it a try. The highlight is the food… a very professionally run restaurant with local dishes cooked with great care and served in a lovely contemporary dining room. The chef is very talented. The wine list showcases some excellent local wines at very reasonable prices. The breakfast buffet is simple but fresh (excellent croissants, bread and local cheese and ham as well as cereals, yogurts and fruit). We were seriously impressed with the food. The portions are very generous! The rooms above the restaurant have been given a contemporary lick of paint and the beds are modern and super comfy but the bathrooms remain firmly rooted in the 1970s (it’s a long time since we’ve seen an avocado suite!). We felt this added a certain charm and everything worked amazingly well which is all that matters after a hard day’s walking. The only thing we missed was a kettle and cups to make a morning drink. We’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re planning a trip to this lovely area.

29/06/2024: Serveur très sympathique, cadre très beau (anti-moustique à prévoir pour manger en terrasse), nous avons bien mangé. Tout s’est bien passé jusqu’à tomber sur la patronne du resto en voulant payer… Qui nous clame qu’il n’est pas correct que l’une de nous 3 n’a pas pris de plat (nous avons pris une tarte flambée avec les 3 boissons apéro, 2 plats et ensuite 3 desserts - l’une de nous est malade voilà pourquoi elle n’a pas pris de plat). la patronne n’a rien voulu entendre de maladie, « si on va au restaurant c’est pour que chacun mange un plat » et elle est partie 🙄🙄🙄 Aucune empathie pour les gens malades ! Sommes venus une fois, mais plus 2

18/12/2024: The restaurant is very welcoming, we ate very well from starter to dessert, the quality and quantity was there, neither too much nor too little on the plate, a pleasant menu, a simple and unfussy atmosphere and a wine list and good advice for choosing wine. Honestly, I recommend the restaurant.

21/08/2024: It's hard to understand some of the reviews... We have been regular customers for years, and behind the stove there is a real cook who loves what he does! It's just excellent and in more than enough quantity. If you like local and well-made cuisine, don't hesitate. People who “are in the trade” and criticize, I think you are not at all in the trade to say such things about such dishes. Never disappointed, price consistent with quality and quantity…. Bravo to you and don’t change anything, we will come back again and again! Being “of the trade” :)

12/08/2024: We just had the Strasbourg salad and sorbet for dessert. But when I was looking for the toilet the boss called out to me and said: "honey it's on the right, behind the curtain!!" and added "since you're of a certain age"!! I like to joke but for a restaurateur to address his customers in this way, a total lack of respect!! No one will see me there again!!

03/11/2024: Je suis venu à l'auberge de l'Illwald avec mon Papa, 20 ans après y être venu avec un ami. Le site est très beau, soigneusement entretenu, fleuri et deux chiens mignons nous ont gentiment accueillis. Ils voulaient jouer à la balle et étaient amusants et étaient très bien élevés. Ils attendaient patiemment. Le restaurant tout en boiseries avec de belles peintures est chaleureux, de même que l'accueil et le service. Une salle moderne avec de grandes baies vitrées donnant sur la nature et réservée aux banquets complète le lieu. La carte est présentée sur ardoise avec un large choix d'entrées, de plats et desserts. Le type de cuisine est bistronomique avec aussi des propositions plus classiques comme la choucroute. Les prix correspondent à la qualité des mets servis. Nous nous sommes régalés et avons passé un très bon moment ! J'ai déjà envie d'y retourner car la carte évolue régulièrement.

06/10/2024: Das Essen war sehr gut und die Bedienung sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Leider hatten wir trotz Reservation 4 Monate zuvor (!) einen richtig schlechten Tisch. Schade und irgendwie unverständlich, denn die Begründung, dass alle so früh reserviert hatten, ist irgendwie nicht sehr glaubhaft.

09/07/2024: Super friendly welcome, lovely overnight stay and very good breakfast with cured ham and 2 fried eggs with flowers as decoration prepared in a very old enameled pan on a bed of hay. So awesome
