07/09/2026: We chose this restaurant the day before; it seemed nice and the reviews were good. So I want to clarify that the waitress was completely blameless and very kind. But we hadn't had an experience like this before. The waitress, who was there occasionally, didn't know anything about spirits or how to make coffee, but she was there simply to help out because the owner was absent. She was supposed to be helped by the son, but he had gone to his apartment, leaving her to manage on her own. While the dishes were decent, there was no bread because they had forgotten to buy any. We ordered wine, but since the waitress didn't know anything about wines, we passed on it. For dessert, I had Gewürztraminer Marc ice cream. She searched for it and, with the help of the cook, finally found it. As for the coffee, she had never touched a professional coffee machine, but she managed to make two coffees for us. Again, she couldn't do anything about it and tried, with her kindness, to make it all worthwhile. But why keep a restaurant open under these conditions? The owner has a lazy son who was probably sleeping upstairs. The waitress had to knock on the door every time, but he wouldn't have bothered to help her. I'm being generous by giving it two stars because it doesn't deserve them, but since the food was decent and the waitress was very kind, I couldn't give it one star, even though it was well-deserved. So, Madam, next time you take a break, close the restaurant and don't leave it to your lazy son.

05/09/2026: Avoid this restaurant. It took 20 minutes to get a menu. Another long wait for our drinks. Our neighbors waited an hour for their meals. We could hear shouting coming from the kitchen. A ruined evening.

03/09/2026: Dish of the day: Starter: Pâté en croûte, salad (beautifully presented, generous portion). Main course: Sliced ​​beef with vegetables and Chinese noodles (beautifully presented, generous portion, excellent sauce, a real treat). The welcome was excellent, as was the service. The bill was reasonable. No complaints. Highly recommended. We were satisfied.

12/07/2026: We were there a few weeks ago as a family with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, who invited us for lunch. Between the warm welcome and the attentive service, delivered with a big smile, we were truly delighted with the quality of the dishes we ordered – absolutely perfect, a real treat! Thank you, and we look forward to trying the tarte flambée again soon.

30/09/2026: Avoid at all costs! It took 45 minutes for our order to arrive, even though there were only two other couples on the terrace. Inside, four people had already finished. We asked if there was a problem, and the owner berated us, even suggesting we go to a fast-food restaurant where it would be faster. She claimed it had only been 20 minutes. Excuse me, madam, the bell next door rang three times every 15 minutes. My order: sea bream fillet with Riesling for €24.50, and what I received was a piece of cod loin swimming in tasteless cream with a boiled potato and a bit of julienned vegetables. Frozen food is better. We had a terrible experience and were treated like idiots. Furthermore, in Alsace, €20 for a 50cl pitcher of Riesling is outrageous.

13/09/2026: Passing through Châtenois, we decided on a whim to stop at this restaurant. Personally, I think the €6.90 bottle of water is a bit steep, and the bagged salad was just okay.

17/08/2026: 6/10 - An okey hotel. The room has a good modern shower facility, but misses air conditioning and no drinks like coffee, tea or water (bottles / boiler) or an refrigerator. As for other amenities, the hotel offers a good swimming pool and spa, but has limited opening times (with the spa having even more limited opening times from 15-19 hours). It would be great if for example the turkish steambath in the spa offered some motion sensors for example; so it saves some energy, but allowes the hotel to have more convenient opening times. Also some things like some lights in the pools or spa, or a hair dryer in the swimming pool, doest (seem to) work. The hotel offers a half-board, which offers a good breakfast (where the food and drinks are replenished often), and a set dinner (no choices). Drinks at the (included) dinner are not for free, except tapwater. The dinner itself consists of an okey haute cuisine styled 3-course menu (which might not be totally filling for some people). As for the appearance of the hotel, it is quite old-fashioned from the inside; which might attract, or repel guests who prefer a sleek, modern aesthetic. Throughout the hotel there are some nice reminders of the history of the village and hotel. The outside offers a tennis court, an old fashioned small playing court for the kids, and a huge garden. In the back of the garden there is something what looks like an old anti aircraft emplacement. Some parts of the garden could definitely use a refresh or better maintanance (for example supplying the fish with water in the pond who have to deal with less and less water in hot summers). Finally, the staff is friendly and attentive.

28/06/2026: This hotel is family-owned and was recommended to me by a friend I studied abroad with! It’s a beautiful location with charm. The atmosphere is welcoming and I highly recommend this place to stay.

27/09/2026: Excellent food, right on the riverbank in the shade. Very fast and friendly staff.

12/09/2026: I don't understand the bad reviews. We had a great lunch near the river. Fast, fair price and good food. Service was great too.

05/10/2026: I've been served by the saleswoman Ayse several times now, and it's such a shame that she acts when she speaks. She doesn't speak, she shouts, or she deliberately uses a very exaggerated intonation. It's very unpleasant. I'm sure that if she spoke normally, in her own voice, without exaggeration, it would be much better. The other saleswomen are very pleasant and smiling without being overbearing. The apprentice is also smiling and very friendly.

04/10/2026: - I came once and the welcome was unpleasant, the waiter gave me dirty looks, etc. It was like we were bothering them (the food was good though). - Impossible to reach them by phone. - They don't accept groups even though there are plenty of seats, for some unknown reason. - And their reservation system is useless since you can book for 14 people on their website. 🙂

04/10/2026: This Saturday night, the hamburger had a cold, uncooked cheese curd, the carrot salad and mayonnaise were expired 👿. It's awful, and the fries were undercooked. They need to change cooks ASAP; this is really bad for the restaurant 👿. I left with a stomach ache... the cooks clearly have no experience cooking... they use a microwave... it's not great for customers; it's worse than McDonald's.

05/05/2026: Hotel a 10-minute drive from Strasbourg's Petit France neighborhood. Very close to the noisy highway, fortunately we were assigned newly renovated rooms at the back. Connecting rooms, perfect for our family! Really comfortable and quiet. However, they are small, fine for a one-night stopover. Abundant breakfast, both sweet and savory, with fruit, yogurt, eggs, etc. The espresso from the vending machine was good. The staff was kind and very helpful. Excellent prices. Need I say more?!

21/09/2026: The pizza was burnt and absolutely terrible, the panini was squashed and inedible, and I wasn't even given a plate, so one side was just placed directly on the table, which didn't look clean. The cocktail was also bad, with poor-quality ingredients! The service was truly awful; I was given a dirty glass covered in limescale, and the waitress clearly didn't want to be there. It was my first time there, and it will definitely be my last.

16/06/2026: The restaurant service is appalling; we waited an hour at lunchtime even though we were among the first to arrive. The place is very noisy, and the smell of old carpet hits you as soon as you walk in. The food is relatively good, but it really depends on the dish… Other restaurants in the area are very good, and the atmosphere is much better. Honestly, I don't recommend it.

19/05/2026: This is our second time eating at this otherwise good restaurant, although one of the waitresses is always incredibly unpleasant and unfriendly to customers. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars.

30/09/2026: The "hunger spot" was quite literal in our case. We arrived at 1:30 and had to find the entrance. Other guests helped us, but the staff didn't. There was no food left. Lunch was over. At least the coffee machine was still working and the cappuccino was good. Everything else was less so. We felt a bit unwelcome.

28/09/2026: A fantastic discovery during a hike. We had a wonderful meal and received a very warm welcome, even though we arrived just before closing time. Highly recommended!
