23/04/2026: Great hotel / restaurant in a quiet location. We stayed here for one night, but what a great place this is. Location / experience / friendly and helpful, and then the restaurant. It makes up for everything in terms of French cuisine (the chef deserves a big compliment). The hotel is neat and our room was clean and well-maintained. The French flair of the hotel simply makes it. The hotel is getting on in years, but that just makes it. The look and atmosphere are just right. The staff and owner speak a little bit of English but do their utmost (and you don't see that often in France) to assist you. And oh yes: House cat Sweety is actually the boss 😁

23/04/2026: This was my first experience at Le Chapon Fin, and we were far from disappointed. My friend and I came one evening for the six-course tasting menu with wine pairings, and we left feeling satisfied and very happy with our meal. The flavors were varied, and the pairings were perfectly chosen. The dining room wasn't too noisy, and the decor was beautiful. The servers and sommelier took excellent care of us, and the head waiter was also very pleasant! The service was well-paced, with a detailed explanation of each course and dessert. A truly wonderful experience for us; we weren't disappointed at all, and we wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. Thank you to the Chef, the Pastry Chef, and the entire team for this lovely evening.

21/04/2026: An extremely disappointing, not to say appalling, experience. We are accustomed to fine dining and Michelin-starred restaurants, but what we were offered here was unworthy of an establishment of this caliber. From the outset, the tone was set: rushed service where courses were served one after another without giving us a moment to breathe, making us feel like mere numbers to be dispensed with as quickly as possible. The lack of professionalism is blatant. Between a sommelier who doesn't know the wine list and has to call for backup, glasses clinking together during service, and a waiter constantly touching his hair before bringing plates, etiquette and hygiene leave much to be desired. Even more irritating, we felt we received preferential treatment, undoubtedly due to our young age: no attention was paid to my wife's and my napkins when we got up, unlike the neighboring tables, and wine was automatically poured into my glass without even asking who wanted a taste, even though my wife is the one who knows about wine. The "five-course" menu is a bad joke: including two starters and two desserts (the first of which is nothing more than an amuse-bouche) to inflate the menu is a dishonest practice given the price. Finally, the manager's behavior was the final straw. Instead of apologizing, he was condescending, getting lost in pointless justifications about the seating arrangements rather than listening to our complaints. No gesture, no consideration, just contempt. We left with the feeling that we had paid the price of a fine restaurant for the service of a neighborhood brasserie. Avoid at all costs.

Top-notch dishes, both meat and fish, original desserts including apple crumble with parsley sorbet, a menu that changes regularly, attentive and efficient service, exceptional view of the Arcachon Basin, and more than reasonable prices – everything was perfect. 03/04/2026: I visited Les Jardins restaurant, located inside the Marché des Capucins in Bordeaux, to sample fresh oysters, and the experience was simply incredible. I'd been wanting to try oysters in this region for a long time, as it's known for its oyster farming tradition, and here I was able to fulfill that little dream. The oysters were fresh and delicious, with a flavor that truly reflects the quality of the local product. The service was excellent, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It's definitely a place I recommend if you're visiting the market and want to savor an authentic taste of Bordeaux.

03/04/2026: Good restaurant, but could improve the quality and variety of its ingredients. A bit pricey for what it is, in my opinion. The background music was a little too loud.

21/04/2026: We were served quite quickly. I ordered a medium-rare duck breast, but it came out rare in the center. I don't think any restaurant in the southwest knows how to cook it perfectly, so I won't hold it against them. The veggie burger was outrageous: no patty, just cheese, so we were still hungry after the meal. The fries are unlimited, but not the salad :( They have tea lights; I tried them, and they help keep the meat warm longer if you don't eat too fast, which is appreciated. The service was prompt, but we came during the off-season on a Monday evening in April, and there were only two tables occupied in the entire restaurant. I'm giving it four stars because the price is lower than other restaurants in the area. In another city, with these prices, I would have given it three stars.
