19/08/2026: What a fantastic discovery in Calais! 🇫🇷❤️ Au Vieux Fourneau truly impressed us and is definitely one of the restaurants you shouldn't miss when visiting Calais. Even the welcome was warm and friendly. The entire team was attentive, friendly, and incredibly helpful – you feel welcome from the very first moment. 😊 And the food? Simply amazing! 🤩 Fresh ingredients, expertly prepared, wonderful flavors, and generous portions. This is exactly how we imagine French cuisine! We especially appreciated that you don't just get beautifully presented dishes, but genuinely good, honest food where you can taste the quality. The value for money was also absolutely convincing. You really get a lot for the quality and quantity. The ambiance is cozy and typically French – exactly the kind of restaurant that makes a French holiday culinary experience perfect. 🇫🇷🥂 We were completely satisfied and would come back anytime. A definite recommendation for anyone who wants to eat well in Calais!

Recommended by their colleagues at L’Anecdote, who were exceptionally closing that day (August 31st), we had booked a table at Froggys by phone and even left a message two hours before our scheduled lunch to let them know we'd be slightly late (their answering machine gave the message and their usual opening hours). Well, in the meantime, they had decided to close that day too, exceptionally, and for three days!!!… Obviously, without even letting us know, even though they have our phone number, email address, etc. We come to Montreuil two or three times a year to spend a few days, especially to enjoy A. Gautier's restaurants. Unfortunately, the quality of service is also declining sharply in these "big establishments," and it's awful! Phil and Caro

20/08/2026: Hidden gem! Unassuming from the outside, the food is very regional, but tastes like a grandmother is cooking for her family. The service is very helpful and friendly...and the price is perfectly reasonable. What more could you want!

20/07/2026: We had a wonderful time at your restaurant celebrating our father's 90th birthday, surrounded by our entire family, including children and grandchildren. We received a very warm welcome. The meal was delicious, the service impeccable, and the whole team was incredibly attentive, allowing us to fully enjoy this beautiful celebration in a friendly atmosphere. The sea view was magnificent, and the parking was very convenient. Everything was perfectly organized and contributed to making this day a truly wonderful memory. A big thank you to the entire team! We highly recommend this restaurant.

06/09/2026: Beautiful decor and an atmosphere reminiscent of a port city, with dishes bursting with flavor and color. If you're a big fish lover, this is a must-visit. The service was a bit rushed, but it's understandable given the large crowds who come to sample their dishes.

23/08/2026: Unfortunately, I was a victim of racial profiling. My mother, brother, and I arrived at 8:50 PM, but we were told the kitchen was closed. 🤔 Strange, considering the restaurant closes at 11 PM… The waitress who greeted us looked my mother up and down and was very unpleasant in her response.

22/08/2026: ⭐️ Very bad experience — particularly disappointing welcome We arrived at approximately 8:49 pm and, while several tables were still available, we were told that the restaurant was no longer accepting customers because the kitchen was closed. We therefore didn't even have the opportunity to taste the food. What shocked us most was the way we were received: a cold, disdainful, and particularly unpleasant attitude. The looks and behavior towards my mother unfortunately made us feel like we were victims of racial profiling. We left very disappointed and, above all, with the feeling of not having been treated as full-fledged customers. It's a shame, because even before judging a restaurant on its food, one should also judge it on the welcome and respect it shows its customers. For us, this is a place to avoid. We certainly won't give our money to an establishment where we were received in this way.
