08/07/2025: [I gave "Atmosphere" 3 stars because I don't really understand what that criterion is...] Four people at lunchtime (reservation) The welcome was friendly, the waitress and the owner were cheerful. We ate in the back courtyard, a pleasant spot that overlooked the square. It was very quiet and shaded thanks to the umbrellas. We ate à la carte, with starter, main course, and dessert, and it was unanimously appreciated; everything was perfect. The beef carpaccio was simply excellent, and it should be noted that the sauce served with it complemented it deliciously without, as is too often the case, masking the flavors of the food. The mixed salads were also appreciated, as the sauce was a subtle accompaniment without overpowering the food. The dishes were also appreciated for their aromatic and subtly seasoned taste. The trout steak has an unusual topping, a delight. The lamb was also a hit, and the beef steak was cooked as desired. The desserts also made us smile :) An important thing for me was that the quantities were just right. Regarding the price, I've read in some reviews that it's high. If you pay €12 for a bland 100g steak with defrosted, barely cooked fries, you won't have paid much, certainly, but you'll have been ripped off. :). It's the value for money that should be considered, not the amount alone, and in that case, it's fair to say it's reasonable. The chef delighted us.

08/01/2026: The foie gras and homemade gingerbread were to die for, the tournedos Rossini was amazing, the crème brûlée was delicious and perfectly crisp, not to mention the warm welcome. A truly memorable time spent in this charming inn. 💝

03/01/2026: We had a wonderful time. A real gem, just a stone's throw from Lake Guéry. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service impeccable. Remember to book in advance by phone. We had a truly incredible experience. Thank you so much! I haven't included all my photos of the dishes; you'll have to go and discover them for yourselves, but one thing is for sure: you won't be disappointed. We'll definitely be back.

22/12/2025: Lunch with excellent and generous Auvergne-style open-faced sandwiches served on a slate. They also have very good beers and original herbal teas. In short, we love this little restaurant. It's worth the detour! The shop offers local products to take home as souvenirs.

23/12/2025: What happened this Monday, December 22nd, at this highly regarded brasserie? I arrived at 12:20 PM and left at 2:00 PM after three courses. Admittedly, it was the Christmas holidays, a busy day, as they say. The setting is very nice, the servers are well-dressed, you'd almost think you were in a fine dining establishment, but it isn't. Why wait 30 minutes for the entire downstairs room to fill up before even starting to take orders? Different servers kept coming and going without ever stopping. Everyone seemed as disillusioned as the servers. I ordered the daily special to see the quality, but then I had to wait again to be served, and a long wait between the main course and dessert, with orders getting lost, the servers running around trying to find them, and then waiting again. If you're expecting the same quality for the same price as the lunch menus at Le Murmure or the Hôtel Saint-Mart in Royat, you'll already be disappointed with the presentation and the contents of the plate. Please note, this is a brasserie, it's important to remember that. In hindsight, the quality of the glasses, the plates (the materials), and the very hard chairs after a while, contrast sharply with the establishment's reputation. There are certainly some very good dishes on more substantial menus, but the overall atmosphere that day was a major drawback. Having not tried any other dishes and being a first-time visitor, I can't give it a rating that reflects the restaurant's reputation.

19/11/2025: We came with friends and had a wonderful time. The welcome was warm and personal, punctuated by the chef's anecdotes. The menu (with 2 starters, 2 main courses, and 3 desserts) offered tender, generous, and delicious dishes. Don't expect a rushed 30-minute meal, as Thierry personally manages both the dining room and the kitchen, and that's all the better: here, they take their time, which is why it's so enjoyable.

05/01/2026: My Sunday favorite ❤️ L’Auberge de Ceilloux offers a modern take on traditional Auvergne cuisine, featuring local and seasonal produce. The wine list is small but perfectly complements the dishes prepared on-site. Terrines, poultry, roasts... everything is cooked in the restored wood-fired oven, and the bread and pastries are also made and baked there. Everything is homemade, from appetizer to dessert, using fresh, local ingredients. Excellent and very generous portions. Set menu at €32, including appetizer, main course, cheese, and dessert. Vegetarians, please let us know when making your reservation; the chef will be happy to prepare alternative dishes, as the menu is set. Parking is available near the restaurant. Reservations are required due to limited seating. Highly recommended.

12/09/2025: Deplorable welcome: disrespectful staff (we warned them that access to the restroom was dangerous because it was dark, and they told us to clean our glasses or go relieve ourselves in the field next door. Another example: we were told to choose our table carefully, either outside or inside, because they wouldn't move a table up if we changed! Exorbitant wine prices Truffade prices were higher than elsewhere, and the charcuterie was not plentiful! Limited dessert selection, so we didn't order dessert!

Always a very warm welcome, impeccable service, very competitive prices for the quality/quantity, and the extra truffade dish for €4.50 was a steal! My new go-to spot for visits to my parents' house ;) Looking forward to it! 🐇

05/01/2026: The food is excellent and the portion is more than generous! However, be prepared to wait because the service is slow… Also, it's the first time I've seen an extra charge of €5 for a doggy bag!

28/12/2025: Excellent restaurant, specializing in local cuisine like truffade and stuffed cabbage. The truffade is absolutely divine! The takeout service is incredibly convenient, and the owner is very friendly and accommodating! A truly great experience! Highly recommended!
