15/02/2026: While passing through the area, we made a fantastic discovery at this restaurant. I recommend making a reservation. We tried their truffade, a potato and cheese gratin that's an absolute must-try. Highly recommended.

23/12/2025: What happened this Monday, December 22nd, at this highly regarded brasserie? I arrived at 12:20 PM and left at 2:00 PM after three courses. Admittedly, it was the Christmas holidays, a busy day, as they say. The setting is very nice, the servers are well-dressed, you'd almost think you were in a fine dining establishment, but it isn't. Why wait 30 minutes for the entire downstairs room to fill up before even starting to take orders? Different servers kept coming and going without ever stopping. Everyone seemed as disillusioned as the servers. I ordered the daily special to see the quality, but then I had to wait again to be served, and a long wait between the main course and dessert, with orders getting lost, the servers running around trying to find them, and then waiting again. If you're expecting the same quality for the same price as the lunch menus at Le Murmure or the Hôtel Saint-Mart in Royat, you'll already be disappointed with the presentation and the contents of the plate. Please note, this is a brasserie, it's important to remember that. In hindsight, the quality of the glasses, the plates (the materials), and the very hard chairs after a while, contrast sharply with the establishment's reputation. There are certainly some very good dishes on more substantial menus, but the overall atmosphere that day was a major drawback. Having not tried any other dishes and being a first-time visitor, I can't give it a rating that reflects the restaurant's reputation.

23/02/2026: A good, rich, and generous meal in a pleasant setting. The only slight drawback was the wooden high chairs, which weren't very comfortable for sitting on throughout the meal. A place well worth a visit.

17/02/2026: The perfect spot to enjoy a generous slice of bread or delicious waffles! One of my favorite places to stop in the Sancy region!! After a hike or a visit to the Scenomuseum, nothing beats a cup of tea and a waffle (I recommend "La Sancy," my favorite 🥰)! Their shop is full of local products at very reasonable prices. The staff is also incredibly welcoming, which makes the place truly exceptional 🤩 In short: Don't hesitate for a second, go for it!

31/01/2026: Discovered by chance during a business trip. A warm welcome, simple but excellent food: a remarkable truffade—it's the first time anyone has ever asked me if I wanted more. I was even able to buy some excellent slices of their country ham. The service was on par with the food. Thank you for this wonderful discovery.

02/03/2026: Absolutely fantastic! The dining room with its mountain view is magnificent. The rump steak was perfectly cooked, the homemade fries crispy, and the Bleu d'Auvergne sauce was divine. To finish, the chocolate fondant with whipped cream was heavenly. Warm and welcoming service. We'll definitely be back!

01/02/2026: A very good restaurant offering only à la carte options (large chalkboard menu). Fresh, simple, and delicious ingredients. The quality and flavor are definitely there, and the portions are generous. Main courses start at €18—but unfortunately, it's a burger and fries, not very local. On the other hand, the desserts are too expensive: €6 (e.g., fromage blanc/cream/blueberry or fruit tart). We suggest: * The Truffade (a potato and cheese dish) €20 * Reservations are recommended, especially if you are a large group. Parking is 50m away, and to aid digestion, we recommend a visit to the Scenomusee Chez la Toinette et le Julien (also 50m away); a bit pricey but definitely worth the visit. Enjoy your meal and your visit!

13/03/2026: I love this restaurant; the food is good, and the waiter is pleasant. The only downside: the seafood sauerkraut. It's not up to the standard of what the restaurant next door offers. It wasn't a generous portion: one mussel, one shrimp, half a piece of fish, and tasteless cabbage. A shame.

22/02/2026: Le menu du jour à midi est toujours un vrai moment de plaisir. C'est très bon, copieux, varié. Et pour 16€ on se régale véritablement. La présentation est soignée, on est très bien accueilli. J'ai trouvé qu'un verre de vin à 6€ est trop cher cependant.

20/02/2026: Lunch today, the dishes were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The flavor combinations were very successful. The service was friendly, provided by a young waiter who spoke a little too quickly when describing the dishes (this isn't a criticism, just a suggestion for improvement). A slight disappointment: we were the only four of us in the restaurant, and the chef walked past our table at the end of our meal without a word, a greeting, or even a glance. That's a shame.

17/03/2026: An exquisite address that's well worth the effort: you have to venture off the beaten path to reach it (reservations required!). Once inside, you feel like you're in someone's home, surrounded by a few tables and the owner, who seems to have been waiting for you forever. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and not just because the stove is roaring: the other diners clearly understand the culinary performance unfolding before them. The experience is truly exceptional: from the zucchini soup, where the classic "Mémé" blue cheese easily wins the day, to the truffade – a must-try – and its gargantuan platter of charcuterie, intended for two, which could easily feed half a rugby team. You'll have to restrain yourself from choosing among the numerous homemade and nostalgic desserts, each vying for your attention with its deliciousness, starting with the pear charlotte. The red wine is crisp, the bill unbeatable, and the moment truly timeless.
