In the end, I opted for scallop and prawn skewers, and to finish with a sweet treat, French toast. A perfect meal, without a single flaw. I can't wait for warmer weather to enjoy the terrace. 15/05/2026: Bad experience. I ordered a rare burger. What a disappointment... the steak was way overcooked (not even pink) and had the consistency of mousse, weird 🤔 Very cold atmosphere. All that for €17.50!!!!!

A warm and friendly welcome, a lovely chalkboard menu, and then... oh my goodness, the food is delicious! Stop by this little restaurant; you won't regret it. Thank you again, we loved it.

20/05/2026: Fantastic experience at Bougnat Burger! The burger was absolutely delicious, with a perfectly cooked steak, just as requested—juicy and full of flavor. The ingredients were fresh and well-balanced; you could taste the quality. Plus, it was very generous—definitely worth the money! The service was also pleasant, no complaints whatsoever. I highly recommend it! 🍔👌

14/04/2026: We spent the weekend in the "Myrtille" and "Framboise" cabins with our family. Perched at an altitude of 1367m, we found a magical place where the friendly owners are happy to don their aprons and play one of the many games available in the dining room with you. Good humor and conviviality are guaranteed, even when the beautiful weather decides to move further south. A magical place, maintained by two little elves with hearts of gold. If you're passing by, you'll be missing out on a truly special moment, if you decide not to stop!

29/05/2026: A very nice hotel. It only has 3 stars, but it's worth more thanks to the staff, the very comfortable rooms, the swimming pool with its terrace, and the breakfast (don't miss Maria's homemade crepes, which are actually "msemen" for those who know them). Ideally located for starting hikes (by bike or on foot). I stayed there for 5 days and, from what I've seen in Mont Dore, this hotel is, in my opinion, the best in the area. No hesitation needed.

01/06/2026: Good homemade food. We had to wait a while for the food, but it also was very busy. We sat at the bar area as it had more ambiance then the restaurant part. Very good value for your money.

23/05/2026: Edit after the reply: The blog only exists because the whole experience was quite unpleasant. Having worked in the restaurant industry, I completely understand a difficult situation; however, bringing a raw dish to a customer and saying "we didn't have time to heat it up" before leaving is hard to understand. Just like not offering any compensation on the bill despite a dish that was honestly bad. Finally, if these "hiccups" happen, leaving your server to single-handedly steer the ship against the waves (he was running around everywhere to serve everyone with virtually no help) is probably the cause. Tonight we came to eat truffade, as we often do. After waiting 15-20 minutes for our order to be taken, we ordered a small bowl of fries while waiting for our main course. The impact of this bowl was going to be huge. Not seeing it arrive, I discreetly approached the counter to see where the bowl was. I was spotted and heard someone ordering a bowl of fries from the kitchen, so I calmly returned to my table. Having devoured our delicious bowl of fries, we were a little surprised to have to wait about 45 minutes for the rest of our order. The owner noticed us (probably by the sounds of hungry stomachs) and inquired: a slight hiccup—the manually ordered bowl of fries had prevented the rest of our order from being sent to the kitchen. However, the truffade arrived soon despite this minor hiccup; these things happen, and there was no problem with it. However, sending the truffade raw, with mushy potatoes, seemed like a rather risky solution. After seeing the dish, the owner sent this Dauphiné truffade back to the kitchen, where they salvaged it as best they could, but it never quite reached the level of a proper truffade. As a gesture of goodwill, we were offered tapenade and a glass of wine, which was appreciated. However, a small discount on the bill would have been appreciated and would have been welcome. The owner and staff were attentive and empathetic, though. P.S.: If possible, take the crème brûlée out of the fridge earlier so it's not ice-cold when it arrives 🥲 (As an aside, some people sat down at an adjacent table 5-10 minutes after us and were sipping coffee after a good meal while our truffades were being taken back to the kitchen).

19/04/2026: Absolutely excellent. We enjoyed beautifully cooked and meticulously prepared dishes. The attention to detail truly enhanced the experience. We will be back… and I highly recommend this restaurant, which is well worth the detour or trip.
