The only minor drawbacks we couldn't note: the seasoning, a little too salty at times. But nothing serious. In the end, thank you for this experience. Update 05/07: It was once again flawless.

08/07/2026: A great atmosphere in a warm and welcoming setting to enjoy quality, local cuisine. The waitresses are incredibly attentive, ensuring you never run out of water, bread, or anything else. With fast service to boot, this restaurant is a fantastic place to stop after a hike or even to try at any other time!

07/06/2026: We came for a First Communion celebration with a group of about 15 people. The service was impeccable, and the welcome was very pleasant. The atmosphere and decor were warm and inviting. It even smelled lovely in the restrooms! 😉 And the food was a delight... homemade, beautifully presented, and the portions were perfect. I highly recommend it.

25/05/2026: We stumbled upon this place during our vacation; it's a shop selling local products, and they also have a restaurant and a terrace. We bought some cheese from the shop, as well as a few other local products, including charcuterie—everything was delicious. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but we sat on the terrace and enjoyed some amazing homemade ice cream! Go there without hesitation; the owners are also very welcoming.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a team of exceptionally warm, attentive, and highly professional servers. Their knowledge of wines and other beverages is remarkable: their explanations are clear, precise, and delivered with passion, allowing us to discover new flavors with complete confidence. The presentation of both the drinks and the dishes is simply superb, elegant, and refined. We opted for the eight-course tasting menu, which is definitely worth the trip. We paired it with a wine pairing and a glass of white wine, both excellent and perfectly selected to enhance each course. Each plate arrives at the table like a true work of art, immediately sparking curiosity and the desire to taste it. As for the cuisine, it is exceptional and full of surprises. Each dish is a discovery, both visually and in its combination of flavors. We were constantly amazed by the originality of the creations, the quality of the ingredients, and the masterful cooking techniques. The flavors were incredible, perfectly balanced, and rich in flavor, offering a true culinary journey from beginning to end. A remarkable dining experience that perfectly combines an enchanting setting, impeccable service, and inventive cuisine. An address I recommend without hesitation and where I will gladly return.

15/06/2026: We discovered the Auberge de la Golmotte during our holiday in Mont Dore and had a very pleasant time. We opted for the à la carte menu. The foie gras with homemade gingerbread was generous and excellent. The plates were also beautiful to look at, sprinkled with garden pea leaves – a delightful culinary discovery. The scallop dish was truly succulent with a shallot sauce and various equally delicious side dishes. Mashed potatoes, ratatouille, and candied carrots with their tops, while not groundbreaking, were also perfect in terms of both cooking and seasoning. As for dessert, the homemade pear sorbet and the praline chocolate crisp were simply divine! The ingredients are incredibly fresh and of high quality. The service is discreet yet friendly, and the serenity of this restaurant contributes to making the meal a truly delightful experience. Thank you to the chef and thank you to the waitress. We will return on our next stay in Mont Dore.

The only downside: they're closed for part of August, so our friends from Nantes visiting Auvergne won't have the great opportunity to experience these two passionate and talented restaurateurs! 12/07/2026: It was a family celebration, so we headed back to our roots to enjoy ourselves and booked a table at this restaurant we know well. Upon arrival, we discovered the place was completely different following a recent change of ownership. The setting was lovely, so we thought, "Let's try something new." The servers were friendly and seemed very attentive. We chose to order the chicken supreme with blue cheese sauce. The dish arrived with a simple presentation, and the pasta seemed to be of average quality, nothing serious. We carved the chicken, and with the first bite, it felt cold, like eating ice cream. However, the color of the meat, although slightly pink, didn't indicate it was undercooked. We went to the server to point out the problem. He apologized profusely and took the dishes and reported them to the kitchen. Barely five minutes later, the same dishes we sent back came back piping hot. (I won't make any wild guesses. I'll let you be the judge of how they were reheated.) We ate everything because, despite everything, the dish wasn't inedible, but we expect better in a restaurant. The dessert didn't make up for it; the blueberry tarts were rather bland and a bit soggy. I hope we were the only ones who experienced this...
