19/09/2024: What an amazing hotel and restaurant in the heart of Alsace! So glad we took the advice of other travellers and gave it a try. The highlight is the food… a very professionally run restaurant with local dishes cooked with great care and served in a lovely contemporary dining room. The chef is very talented. The wine list showcases some excellent local wines at very reasonable prices. The breakfast buffet is simple but fresh (excellent croissants, bread and local cheese and ham as well as cereals, yogurts and fruit). We were seriously impressed with the food. The portions are very generous! The rooms above the restaurant have been given a contemporary lick of paint and the beds are modern and super comfy but the bathrooms remain firmly rooted in the 1970s (it’s a long time since we’ve seen an avocado suite!). We felt this added a certain charm and everything worked amazingly well which is all that matters after a hard day’s walking. The only thing we missed was a kettle and cups to make a morning drink. We’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re planning a trip to this lovely area.

26/09/2024: I regularly visit this restaurant during my business trips. I must say that I was rather disappointed by the service on my last visit. We waited 30 minutes for our aperitif so we drank the wine instead. Once the appetizers arrived, one out of two was not what we ordered. So left for 15 minutes. Then the dishes arrived and one dish was not the right one either. In the end we were no longer hungry. We had dessert to go. However, it was very good before. I think there is some questioning to be done on certain servers!

22/09/2024: Nach allen Bewertungen glaubten wir, wir könnten hier gut bürgerlich elsässisch essen. Das Thomasien liegt in der Rue des Dentelles, wo es einige Essmöglichkeiten gibt. Die Brasserie ist urig eingerichtet und die Bedienung war ok. Besteck und Gläser hätten sauberer sein können. Das Essen war enttäuschend. Es war zwar von ordentlicher Qualität aber gänzlich fad. Daher war es einfach nicht gut. Die Zwiebelsuppe war fad. Die Zwiebeln fein und nicht geröstet. Die Suppe mehr wässrig als eine Brühe. Der Käse und das Brot lagen extra dabei. Ich kenne dies anders: leckere Brühe, würzig, geröstete Brotscheibe und die gratiniert. Leider fad und enttäuschend. Das Backoeffe war mit Wasser gewürzt denn mit Weisswein. Alles andere ebenfalls ohne sonderliche Würzung. Der Flammkuchen nicht knusprig, sondern weich. Liegt es an den internationalen Gruppen? Kurz nach uns kam eine sehr laute japanische Gruppe. Es war einfach enttäuschend, weshalb wir das Lokal schnell verließen. Schade. Die Vorbewertungen waren besser als die Realität.

23/08/2024: Good restaurant overall. Gastronomy but not high end. The terrace is not bad apart from a view of a busy road but it is forgotten. The service corresponding to the meal. The only downside was that the gourmet dessert served did not correspond at all to that on the menu.

15/09/2024: Nous sommes des habitués du restaurant l'aura, toujours content , mais désolé aujourd'hui le niveau des plats était en dessous ..comme si le chef était absent (déjà en congé ?) .. l'oeuf parfait ne l'était pas et la volaille / morille toujours si onctueuse n'était qu'une cuisse de poulet .. Même l'ambiance nous semblait en dessous ... Les congés vont vous servir à rebondir ! A bientôt

06/09/2024: Ouvrez la porte de ce restaurant à la décoration chic et sobre,vous ne serez pas déçu par les plats qui sont aussi beaux que bon tel un tableau de Picasso. Que dire du personnel qui est d'une très grande gentillesse et toujours au petit soin pour vous. Une palette de saveurs. Restaurant à découvrir les yeux fermés.

The rooms are impeccably equipped, offering quality bedding that guarantees peaceful nights. The hotel stands out for its calm, cleanliness and comfort, creating an atmosphere conducive to relaxation. The breakfast and restaurant are simply remarkable, featuring top quality products. What struck us the most was the incredible hospitality of the Ritter'hoft team. We really feel like home. The warm, family atmosphere adds a touch of conviviality which appealed to us. We recommend this establishment wholeheartedly, but remember to book in advance to guarantee your place.
