26/11/2025: We were very satisfied, but that was before. Today, what a disappointment! The welcome, the food, the service—nothing was right. Two out of four dishes were lukewarm, and the fries were soggy and greasy, and the portion was rationed. The main courses, served at breakneck speed no doubt, were brought in at the same time as the aperitif. The management's welcome and communication were extremely unpleasant. I now understand why the competent staff left.

30/01/2026: The waiter was incredibly welcoming and helpful, doing everything to meet our needs and make us feel comfortable. The meal was generously portioned and very appetizing. The dishes were delicious. Just one disappointment with the dessert: a chocolate fondant that was still good, but not homemade... so we were expecting something homemade to match the quality of the other dishes. A slight lack of tranquility can be felt as some tables are quite close together. The restaurant and restrooms were spotless and hygienic. I highly recommend this restaurant because the value for money is excellent, which is becoming rare, and also for the warm welcome. Thanks to the very competent kitchen staff for making our meal so enjoyable! We frequented this restaurant for lunch and dinner 😉

24/01/2026: A very nice experience at L'Escapade. The dishes are fresh, generous, and very well cooked. The staff is welcoming and very professional. Excellent value for money. I highly recommend it.

19/02/2026: NO RESPECT AT ALL!!! Representing a band, I had a meeting scheduled for 11:00 AM today with X (I won't name names). I arrived at 10:45 AM to be on time (I have manners), and waited 15 minutes in the car. At 11:00 AM, I introduced myself. The (friendly) waiter told me that X wasn't in charge and that I had to wait 30 minutes for the other manager. He called the other manager, who confirmed this. Disrespectful and cowardly, X stayed in his kitchen and sent his waiter to apologize for his lack of courtesy. In the end, I wasted 1 hour and 15 minutes, including an hour's round trip (60 km). Maybe X and his sidekick don't pay for gas, but I do!!! So, my dear fellow musicians, if you want respect, manners, and good manners... look elsewhere! P.S.: And contrary to the (false) response, Jean-Michel never spoke to me, and there was never any mention of a few minutes' wait. What does that have to do with the interview time? I was there for the purpose of the interview, even if it was going to last an hour. So, disrespectful and... a liar. Coming out of the kitchen, apologizing in person for being late, and saying, "Have a drink, it's on me"... now that's respectful! So, definitely not!

01/02/2026: Simple, quick, efficient, and super friendly staff, nothing to add. The steak à cheval (steak with a horse) is €17, which is still expensive, but the service is there.

13/01/2026: I went during the week. The "Ambush" burger was delicious, with a high-quality ground beef patty cooked exactly as requested (for once!), served with excellent fries and a well-seasoned salad. I finished it off with a small coffee, which was also very good. The menu is adequate and the prices are reasonable. I didn't get a chance to try the desserts because my main course was quite large. Excellent value for money.

16/10/2025: Had to take a break from my meal to write this review, best filet américain of my life!! 😮 Warm welcome, fast service, and really, that filet américain... it's to die for! The portion is more than generous (I've already eaten half of it in the photo, and I don't want it to end 😢)

18/01/2026: We discovered this restaurant by chance while visiting Bray Dunes, and we were very happy we did. We ordered two pots of mussels (marinière and Dunkerque) with fries, and both were excellent and very good value for money (just over €40 with a large Badoit water). The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxed.

09/03/2025: Great lunch stop on the way back to the UK. Worth the 9 minute diversion. I had crab croquettes and fresh seafood risotto, my husband had the fois gras and steak frites.

22/12/2025: Updated December 2025... In 4 years and after a change of ownership, Le Cheval Blanc has really taken off. The dishes are typical, delicious, and generous. I highly recommend it. (In 2017...) Small, family-run brasserie... simple, unpretentious, and very good value for money.

13/09/2024: C'est toujours avec le même plaisir que nous venons manger dans cet établissement. Tout y est parfait. De l'accueil au dessert. Les plats sont très bien présentés, et la cuisine raffinée. L'endroit est décoré avec goût. Une belle véranda très lumineuse permet de manger avec une vue sur le jardin très verdoyant, lorsque le temps vous empêche de manger dehors. Le patron, très bon cuisinier est secondé par un autre cuisinier tout aussi talentueux. Il n'hésite pas à venir en salle pour saluer ses clients et partager des petits secrets culinaires. Il est à noter que ce restaurant n'est ouvert que le midi et en semaine. Victime de son succès, la réservation, même pour deux est fortement conseillée. Si vous voulez vous faire plaisir, n'hésitez plus.

09/09/2024: Auf der Durchreise machten wir hier Halt, da die Brasserie nicht weit von der Autobahn liegt. Wir waren angenehm überrascht. Das Ambiente war modern, aber angenehm freundlich. Neben einer Terrasse gab es auch einen Garten. Die Tische waren mit Stoffdecken und Stoffservietten eingedeckt, der Service war flott und zuvorkommend. Die Speisekarte bot eine große Auswahl an leckeren Gerichten, sehr gut waren die Kalbsnieren. Die Portionen waren so groß, dass man es kaum schaffen konnte. Die Preise waren sehr günstig.
