28/07/2026: A charming and soothing setting, a fantastic waiter, and high-quality products and flavors!! We visited the Brou Monastery just before lunch, and it was truly an exceptional experience!! We had to leave our table quickly without dessert to catch our train, so the waiter brought us a small, fresh, and delicious dessert on the terrace. A truly excellent place!!! If I lived nearby, I would gladly become a regular, especially since it's not very expensive either 🥳🥳🥳 Thank you to the team 🙏💗💗💗

We just spent two nights in their brand new and absolutely gorgeous guest rooms and we were delighted! 😍 The welcome was incredibly warm, the room was magnificent, the bedding was superb, and the breakfast lived up to the establishment's reputation 😋😋😋 The food is as delicious and generous as ever, with a special mention for the Savagnin fondue, served in a loaf of bread!! 👌👌 The entire team is outstanding. Add to that the owner's friendliness, and you're guaranteed an exceptional stay in a beautiful, peaceful, and unspoiled setting! I highly recommend it!

Every dish is beautifully presented. The portions are perfectly judged—generous enough to satisfy, yet never overwhelming. The starters are exceptional: delicate beef in aspic, smoked veal carpaccio, and a fascinating blend of herbs, spices, and garnishes that create layers of memorable flavors. The main courses are a true celebration of meat. Whether you choose the veal, the leg of lamb, or the famous local chicken, each dish demonstrates remarkable respect for the quality and texture of the ingredients. The meat is so incredibly tender that a knife is almost unnecessary. The chicken, served with an extraordinary sauce and fresh bread to soak up every last drop, may sound simple on paper—but its depth of flavor reveals the magic that only truly gifted chefs can create. The desserts are equally impressive, no matter which one you choose. The excellent selection of French cheeses and a thoughtfully curated wine list complete the experience perfectly. The staff are genuinely warm and welcoming. While friendly service is almost expected in France’s finest restaurants, here the team feels like a family. 18/07/2026: We stayed one night at the campsite in Thoissey while passing through. Because we had poor service and food at our campsite in the afternoon, we decided to go to the village. We stopped at Colisée there because we saw a nice photo of the terrace on Google. It has a nice and cozy terrace. The pizzas were delicious and the service was friendly. They don't speak English there, but they do everything to help you. The terrace is pleasant, cozy, and romantic. We did have to wait a while to pay. It was very busy and there were only two people serving, whereas at the beginning there was only one. The ice cream was served slightly melted, but it was still tasty. Quite expensive for ice cream with sauce though, 7.50 per scoop. Vanilla ice cream with sauce of your choice. You can also get takeout there.
