21/08/2026: Camping + meals. 2 adults and a 3-year-old child. Total: €118. This was our first night camping with our 3-year-old son, a trial run to see how he would handle it. The name made us imagine a real farm, animals to see, a welcoming atmosphere. We ate our meals there to simplify the evening and make him as comfortable as possible. First thing to know: it was impossible to reach anyone by phone. I called the day before, the day of, and then an hour before arriving, but there was never an answer. So we arrived without having been able to book or ask any questions, with only information from a third-party tourist website. The pitch: €18, charged at €6 per person, including for our 3-year-old son. Just one tent, on a sloping meadow accessible by an awkward staircase, with no marked pitches or electricity. The only real positive point of the stay: clean and perfectly functional restrooms. Dinner: €30 per adult for two beef meatballs with pasta, a cheese platter with three cheeses, and a slice of banana-chocolate cake. Our 3-year-old son: €20 for a meatball and pasta, which is two-thirds the adult price for a third of the plate. Breakfast: €10 per adult (free for the child): sliced ​​bread, butter, jam, plain yogurt, coffee or tea. Nothing bad, but it's expensive for what it is. The price was displayed, but never the contents: impossible to make an informed decision between eating there or doing something else. Two practical tips, which are the essence of my opinion: Ask for the detailed menu and the children's price before committing to meals. There are apparently no reduced rates, regardless of age. A kitchen is available for campers, and there are restaurants 15-20 minutes away by car. At those prices, it's worth thinking twice before booking a table. And especially if you're coming with family: despite the name, it's not a farm to visit. It's a stopover for hikers. No animals, no activities, nothing to show a child. The welcome was cold and distant, with the feeling that we were intruding. For a first camping experience with a toddler, this isn't the place I would recommend.

05/09/2026: We just had lunch at this establishment today. It deserves to be better known and recommended. For us, it was a new discovery. Our €42.50 meal was excellent. The goujonnette of carp was delicious, followed by the unmissable and very generous main course of perfectly grilled frog legs with parsley and garlic, and a succulent gratin dauphinois. Everything was excellent, including the famous fromage blanc with cream. Impeccable service, both courteous and efficient. 👍

26/08/2026: Fantastic! While on holiday in the area, we were recommended this restaurant which serves specialties from the Ain region. On the menu were frogs' legs, carp goujonettes, and Bresse chicken with morels. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The service was also perfect. Thank you for offering our dog a bowl of water. I highly recommend it if you're in the area 😊

19/07/2026: The menu didn't provide detailed information about the ingredients. After insisting three times that my dish was indeed meat-free, the waitress assured me it was. I was served a dish with chorizo. I pointed this out to the waitress as soon as I realized, even though I hadn't eaten it. I was still charged for it! €33 for a mojito and a dish that wasn't as described. That's expensive!

The menu is extensive enough to satisfy all tastes without being extravagant, and the dishes do indeed seem to be homemade with fresh ingredients. The service is very quick and friendly. In short, it's a good place to eat well at a reasonable price considering the quality.

18/09/2026: Efficient and friendly staff, a location in the old town on the pedestrian street opposite protected historic buildings – it's simply a pleasant place to spend some time. An unusual spot where we had a great meal.

19/08/2026: A disastrous experience — Avoid at all costs Total disappointment from start to finish. The waiter on the terrace was completely clueless, and the wait time was simply unacceptable. We ordered a half-pint of beer, which was served in a 50cl glass instead... But the worst part was the handling of the children's menu: for a simple ice pop, we had to wait over 20 minutes. My husband finally had to get up and fetch it himself from the counter so our son could finally have it. A blatant lack of organization and professionalism. We will not be returning.

The delicious appetizers and the unfamiliar dishes, offered by a general selection, were a delightful surprise, exquisitely presented, and bursting with flavor! A feast for the eyes and an awakening of the senses. The dessert and its petits fours were the perfect finale! Bravo to the chef, his assistant, and the waiter! 23/07/2026: A very bad experience at this bakery. The salad that came with my meal deal contained worms. I went to the cashier to report the problem, but their reaction was very disappointing. Instead of taking the situation seriously, they told me that "it happens," with an attitude I found very dismissive of a food hygiene issue. What you need to understand is that you don't know who buys your products or their state of health. Some customers may be much more vulnerable than others, and a problem like this should never be taken lightly! A very disappointing experience, both in terms of the quality of the product and the attitude of the staff.

02/07/2026: What can I say about the tea room on Rue de la République... cardboard cups and glasses (they explained it was because the dishwasher was broken), but above all, the fabric banquettes were so filthy, stained, with huge watermarks, that we didn't even sit on them... ugh. Clean them or replace them!

02/06/2026: We had a magical stay at Domaine du Gouverneur, a place where everything seems to come together to offer a relaxing and enjoyable getaway in the heart of the Dombes region. Our escape began with a reserved tee time on the magnificent Breuil course, meticulously prepared for the Oval Green competition taking place the following day. The course was perfectly maintained. We are always captivated by the panoramic views of the Dombes ponds and the local flora and fauna. After this round, played in the sweltering heat, we enjoyed a relaxing moment on the clubhouse terrace, ideal for cooling off while taking in the view of the estate. We then discovered our superior room, spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. Its generous size makes it an excellent choice for a stay of several days. The hotel staff were warm, attentive, and professional throughout our stay. The facilities are also of very high quality, including a lovely swimming pool, perfect for cooling off and enjoying the tranquility of the surroundings. As the sun set, we continued our experience at the estate's restaurant. We chose the Governor's Menu, and it was a truly wonderful discovery. The dishes, at once refined, generous, and beautifully presented, demonstrated genuine culinary mastery. A real treat from beginning to end. Finally, it was time to leave this magnificent estate surrounded by exceptional natural surroundings. Whether you're a golfer or simply looking for a peaceful place to recharge, Domaine du Gouverneur is a destination we recommend without hesitation. We will gladly return. 🌅🏌️‍♂️🍽️🏨
