27/08/2024: It's not a bar, it's a second home. You are welcomed as if you had always been there. The prices are affordable, the cook knows how to get the best out of his ingredients. It's not an ultra modern, fashionable and flashy bar, it's a simple bar for all seasons and all styles.

22/06/2024: Very welcoming and helpful staff, a bar very popular with young people from university located nearby. Very good daily specials, a pleasant terrace.

09/08/2024: Great hotel, clean rooms, clean bathroom The waitress is not very friendly, she monitors when we eat and when we have lunch The people at reception are great 👍 We barely ate there, it’s super good, reasonable price and we had lunch there too.

07/09/2024: Thought the restaurant was closed and were thrilled that it wasn't...a wonderful place that transports you to a fairytale world. Very tasty food, wonderful ambience... looking at the castle and then relaxing here leads to a happy day - even with children!

03/09/2024: We spotted this small restaurant while visiting the nearby chateau. We popped in for a drink and ended up having some crepes as well - which were superb. The view of the chateau and the accompanying soft background music made the occasion really special.The owners (husband and wife) spoke excellent english. They were charming and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. This restaurant is a little hidden gem.

24/07/2024: Second experience on a Monday evening (July 22 at 8:00 p.m.). A young woman alone took the orders and served the drinks and dishes, there were 4 of us with a unique dish each and planning, as usual, when we eat at the restaurant, the dessert, the coffee or even the digestive (spoiler alert, we will go and eat dessert elsewhere.). A young man behind the bar, to cash customers (very few want to pay, because everyone is waiting for their order.). We take our order around 8:00 p.m., the drinks arrive relatively quickly, thanks to the lady for that (fortunately we had chosen unlimited drinks, given the rest of the meal). After the departure of the neighboring table who could no longer stand waiting for their dessert, we will have to wait until 8:45/50 p.m. to have our 4 dishes. During our long wait, another young man from the kitchens (cap and kitchen outfit) appears at the bar and starts chatting with the man waiting for payments. Like the old movie, “is there a pilot on the plane” we have come to wonder “is there a cook in the kitchen”. Having more than 10 years of experience in catering, I understand the temptation to reduce staff on evenings at the start of the week like Mondays, which are very sparsely attended, but perhaps we should take care of the few of customers that we have, in order to try to keep them? Apart from that (and I think it's already quite good.) The dishes served are very good even if the dishes had to wait for a few minutes given the temperature when they were served to us. I will continue to come, because I like the dishes offered and the world of the restaurant, but all the same wondering if the competitors offering similar services are not worth the detour.

14/08/2024: Staff not that helpful, for what ever reason didn’t want to take our order for at least 5mins, even though we tried. No chance of a friendly face, was like we were making them work. Fish and chips ok, not great, seems locals get better treated, larger portions and even a basket of bread. Hey ho lesson learnt .

09/08/2024: I canceled my reservation for 5 people! First contact by telephone where I was asked to wait a moment.. I stayed 10 minutes waiting for the handset on the counter!! where I was able to clearly hear the employees' discussions (I would do without details) I decide to hang up and call back I leave a message asking to be called back (I was never called back) I decide to book via Booking, I call back early in the morning to ask if it is possible to have the two rooms side by side, I am told it will not be possible then they hang up, I call back immediately there is no answer after 3 times it picks up and hangs up!! I find this rude and lacking in interpersonal skills!! So I left a message explaining why I am canceling my reservation for 5 people You may not need customers given the period and the 80 years since the landing, but the least you can do is be polite and professional!

08/09/2024: All I find exceptional is the ideal setting with a beautiful sunset Very bland food, without any flavor, A non-existent variety of fish I do not recommend There are other restaurants nearby of better quality.

09/09/2024: Accueil sympathique. En amuse bouche une petite quiche et un caspachio . Choucroute de la mer copieuse ,mais pas de doddy bag pour emporter le reste de repas.(papier alu). Il n y avait pas de palette dans le petit salé au lentilles mais 2 morceaux de porc salé très gras . La crème chocolat très bonne .

02/09/2024: Inexpensive, very friendly hotel in an ideal location right next to the train station. All of the city's attractions are within walking distance. The room is a bit old and quite small (shower and toilet were added later), but well maintained and very colorful. The mattress was comfortable. Since it was warm and we slept with the window open, the traffic got a little louder in the morning. An inexpensive French breakfast was served downstairs in the relaxed bar, which is obviously family-run and frequented by locals in the morning. The hotel has been family-run for several generations. The operator was extremely hospitable and had a lot of history to tell. He was also gallant and carried the heavy bag upstairs for our friend who was traveling with us.

16/08/2024: Very well received, with a smile the little dog in a stroller was very well received. The boss has a smile, the dishes are really fresh, the meat is perfectly cooked, blue as I like it and hot on the outside, the green beans are delicious, tender, I highly recommend. The perfect whipped chocolate waffle

16/08/2024: Nous y mangeons régulièrement. La galette du jour ou la salle du jour: c'est toujours au top. Les desserts sont excellents. La formule du midi est simple mais très bonne. Les serveurs sont très gentils. Le service est rapide (tant mieux le midi ).

03/09/2024: I've been here several times and everything has always been perfect! The food is excellent, the service pleasant and fast. In addition, a large quantity of dishes and desserts are prepared on site (if not all?)! A place that has become essential when I come to Falaise.

14/07/2024: Coming this afternoon with a relative with whom we hadn't seen each other for almost a year, our reunion was spoiled by a waitress in a foul mood. Haughty and unpleasant. We were quickly made to understand that we had to leave the premises after 2 p.m. (music and lights turned off). However, it was enough to tell us kindly. I will never come back and will take care to tell my experience to all my work colleagues who come regularly.

14/07/2024: The most unpleasant experience ever had in a restaurant. Came for the 2nd time to this restaurant. The first time, the waitress was already not very friendly. The 2nd, we arrive 15 minutes late (1:45 p.m.). We would have completely understood if someone told us that it was too late, but the waitress preferred to accept our arrival while showing all her contempt from the beginning to the end of the meal (we cut the music and turned off the light at 2:10 p.m. to keep us in a hurry anyway). When I spoke with her, she told me, with a tone as contemptuous as ever, that she did not have the right to refuse customers but that “she also has a life”. Just before, I heard him and his colleague attacking other customers: “and they haven’t left there yet?” So I wish this dear waitress to stop attacking customers, and instead to go and confront her boss if he refuses to say no to customers. It requires showing less cowardice though...

04/05/2024: The wine merchant is not very friendly, very unpleasant for a local merchant, the welcome needs to be reviewed but the products are good.
