09/07/2024: What an idiot I am. I had forgotten how great this restaurant is. We eat good…. well-chosen products, very, very well prepared, with impeccable and friendly service. The hardest part is choosing: roast camembert, shrimp skewer, crushed tomatoes, mozzarella ball, French grilled meat, delicious dessert and producer wine. The setting is given in an industrial zone working with the surroundings surely with contained prices in addition. But go beyond this geographical location because this restaurant is truly worth the detour. We will come back more regularly when we come to La Rochelle.

07/12/2024: Great locations with views across the Marais de la Seudre and River Seudre and where, in the evening, you can enjoy watching the sunset in a more formal dining experience. Staff were friendly and attentive, they offer good varied menu with plenty of locally produced shellfish and some good fish dishes. We chose items from the Les Embruns Menu at 34€ Pana cotta d'asperges, copeaux de jambon de Bayonne et de parmesan (Asparagus panna cotta, Bayonne ham and parmesan shavings) and 6 huitres/Oysters M3, fine Yves Papin. Followed by Filet de bar, asperges vertes crues et cuites, sucs de cuisson (Sea bass fillet, raw and cooked green asparagus, cooking juices) and Suprême de pintade, chlorophylle de persil, légumes croquants (Guinea fowl supreme, parsley chlorophyll, crunchy vegetables) and finished with Jonchée des marais, coulis de fruits rouge (Jonchée with red fruit coulis). This little fromage frais-type cheese is made of curds from cow's, ewe's or goat's milk. Food was well presented and well cooked with great flavours. The Fruits De Mer being served at other tables looked amazing and clearly were being enjoyed by diners. You need to book, the restaurant is popular and busy. Would recommend trying this restaurant if you are in the area.

15/09/2024: Décor plutot quelconque, beaucoup d'emphase dans la mise en scène du patron, beaucoup de bla bla mais la cuisine n'est pas à la hauteur de la "réputation" et surtout... des prix. Je n'y retournerai pas.

13/09/2024: Une très belle surprise nous avons découvert la bavette de boeuf (black Angus) ce fut une révélation pour moi qui mange peu de viande et surtout la viande de boeuf . Nous nous sommes véritablement régalés tant cette viande était d'une tendresse remarquable et qui plus est d'une cuisson parfaite (saignante).Nos amis ont également apprécié le ris de veau et un duo de soles. Le patron (je le suppose) viens s'agenouiller à la table pour expliquer et partager ses connaissances en toute décontraction décontraction qui je l'imagine peut ne pas plaire aux esprits chagrins.

11/09/2024: Une belle découverte avec de bons petits plats. Nous avons passé une excellente soirée avec mes parents. Les produits sont frais, la carte est d’un très bon rapport qualité prix bravo. Les vins sont eux aussi très abordables.

19/08/2024: Coming as a family, we ate well but a little disappointed with the price €95 for 3. Quantity on the plates quite small. The only really generous plate was the one with the sirloin and fries (€5 extra for a menu already starting at €18.50). Holiday vouchers are accepted but at the time of payment it is only for half the amount. I asked for a sweet "local" white wine like Monbazillac, I was offered a Gewurztraminer, a German wine (?) In the end, it was another person who came to tell me that they only had half-bottle riesling and bottled gewurztraminer nothing by the glass. After choosing the wine, we had to rush to take the order even though we hadn't yet thought about what we wanted to eat. In short, all this is a shame because it ruined a well-cooked meal ☺️

16/09/2024: Great location on the front at la Rochelle, full most of the time, great manager and staff, great food. No need to say more.

03/09/2024: The waiter on the terrace was really not friendly, not the first time.... but the drinks and dishes were good.

20/09/2024: We have been coming at least once a year for 18 years. The welcome is always there, the cuisine always at the top!! The discovery plate with 4 species of fish is exceptional!!

15/09/2024: Nous garderons un très bon souvenir de notre déjeuner dominical en famille Au Petit Marguery : bien que situé loin de chez nous, nous y revenons toujours avec plaisir pour son cadre chaleureux, son personnel serviable et avenant, son service impeccable et ses plats délicieux. Encore une fois nous nous sommes régalées et vous en remercions. A la prochaine fois !

26/11/2024: We booked a Junior Suite for 2 nights. The building was gorgeous although on a road, the 10 rooms face in the opposite direction and even with windows open we were not disturbed by traffic noise. The room was generous in size and comfortable with two windows looking out over the river on the first floor and a large comfortable bed. My only comment was it was rather dark due to the choice in decoration, the bathroom had a large walk-in shower and good lighting. Wifi was available which worked well, there was also a coffee machine and a minibar. There was a quiet seating area located at the top of the stairs for guests and plenty of outside seating on the terrace overlooking the river. We had dinner at the hotel on the first night. The menu was small but carefully considered. There were only two other couples eating that evening - which was a shame, although on the second evening the restaurant was much busier. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was friendly and unhurried. To start we had: L'asperge, filet de canette séchée, crumble de parmesan Chantilly a l'aillet (Asparagus, dried duck fillet, parmesan crumble, spring onion chantilly) and Taboulé de quinoa asiatique, variation de radis, Œuf confit au soja (Asian quinoa tabbouleh, radish, soy confit egg) Followed by: Le veau confit, croustillant aux olives, Déclinaison brocolis / pack Choi, jus corsé (Veal confit, crispy with olives, broccoli variation / pak choi and Seared Scallops (was not on the menu) maybe a ‘special’ Desserts were: L'ananas poché, avocat épicé, sorbet ananas Meringue soufflée bergamote (Poached pineapple, spicy avocado, pineapple sorbet Bergamot soufflé meringue) and Le mille-feuille tout chocolat, Sablé cacao, grué, glace praliné/pécan (The all-chocolate mille-feuille, Cocoa shortbread, nibs, praline/pecan ice cream) After a good sleep we had breakfast in the morning consisting of croissants, bread, yogurt etc. The hotel is well located to visit the many sights within this wonderful area and we very much enjoyed our stay. The only negative was Check-in was frustratingly late at 17.30!

17/11/2024: We had lunch this summer and were very satisfied with our stay. So we decided to invite a couple of friends to let them know your table. Done this Wednesday, November 13. It is with great pleasure that I confirm the very good quality of the dishes we tasted. Retired restaurant chef, well done for the work done, presentations, little touches of appetizer and end of meal, young women attentive service with their little hesitations which confirm the interest they have in their profession. Some products were missing: salmon, replaced by excellent sea bream, not enough sturgeon, no problem on the contrary it proves that nothing is lying around in the fridges. Congratulations again for this very beautiful stage at a very reasonable price, congratulations to the two young girls at the service. See you soon Stéphane Landré st georges de didonne

06/09/2024: Very tasty family meal after a day at the beach. Burgers with goat cheese, entrecote and lamb from the daily menu were simply delicious. The crowning finale: le dessert! Super friendly owner and service 😊

01/08/2024: Extraordinary discovery Cozy room where you can talk without raising your voice tablecloth and cloth napkins a free bottle of water but the must is the dishes EVERYTHING is good!! We come there regularly and do not hesitate to share with family and friends. We recommend going through the door but be careful, reservations required
