02/09/2024: Petit endroit qui nous attire par l odeur de barbecue Ce fut parfait ! La formule est simple mais terriblement efficace Des conserve de terrine faites maison pour l apéro en attendant que les viandes cuisent au barbecue. La cuisson des ribs est juste parfaite toute la viande tombe de l os Les frites maison ainsi que les sauces maison sont un délice Il faut ajouter un service agréable au petit soin qui vienne voir régulièrement toutes les tables

24/08/2024: Tout est dit dans le titre Pour la deuxième fois que nous venons nous avons mangé ribs et poulet frites la crème à la vanille était top Le personnel très sympa, souriant et surtout très bons commerçants Nous y reviendrons à l’occasion

12/12/2025: A very pleasant and clean hotel with very kind, polite, helpful, and attentive staff. The restaurant was excellent, both in terms of the dining room and the food. The evening meal was very good, and the breakfast was very complete with plenty of choice, all delicious. Thank you so much for the little gift! 😊 The room was very nice, the bedding was superb, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom lovely. Nothing to complain about; the only slight drawback was the location right next to a roundabout, but this didn't prevent a good night's sleep.

11/12/2025: Hotel in its original state. Poor value for money. Bad smell in the bathroom. Broken shower rail. Impersonal.

29/10/2023: Déçu, le monsieur a l'accueil pas agréable , la chambre pas propre et insonorisation zéro. Le claquement des portes résonne pour vous dire on voit la lumière sous la porte. Rideau tâché, poussière sous le lit , poils sur les draps, et la toile d'araignée au dessus du lit.. Salle de bain très petite avec une chasse d'eau qui se rempli beaucoup trop lentement.. Au robinet là c'est l'inverse .. manque le mousseur et donc on met de l'eau partout . Attention pas de climatisation. Et le week-end le restaurant est fermé 😠 Nous ne recommandons pas .

01/12/2023: This is my canteen. Good, simple and inexpensive cuisine. Daily menus very good for 13/16 euros. I go there regularly. Very friendly and competent boss.

03/06/2025: We went there last Sunday, and prior going, I tried to call at 1.40, to ensure they were still open, it says 15.00 on Google map, no answer. We still went. We arrive at 14.10, struggled to park, no real parking area, we waited by the patio entrance. We were eventually greeted by a waitress, out of breath carrying plates. We asked if we could eat, we were 2. She mumbled something like, "No, were only two doing the service, and i don't have the time" and she moved on. There were only about 5 tables with customers on the patio. What a waste of a journey going there.

25/05/2025: If you're a foodie, love nature, peace and quiet, and being by the Charente River, then you've found the perfect place. A plate full of originality, homemade bread. Thanks to a local service, we discovered L'Amaranthe. Thank you for this wonderful find in Port d'Envaux, this lovely little village.

22/07/2024: Une très bonne adresse avec un rapport qualité prix parfait. Nous avons passé un excellent dîner dans ce restaurant avec des plats de qualité et un service sympathique et pas trop chichiteux

19/07/2024: L accueil est professionnel sans plus.La salle est agréable. Pas mal de bémol sur le repas. Le poisson vapeur avec des légumes vapeur ont peu d intérêt. L annonce des plats est fait avec panache (totalement inutile) tandis que Le service est fait sans émotion voire expéditif. Nous testons bcp de restaurants, celui ci est trop cher par rapport à ce qui est servi et aux prestations.

18/08/2024: Petit resto de qualité++, à la fois en salle et gustatif. Produits frais, de saison avec des associations culinaires délicieuses. Je recommande chaudement ce restaurant.

17/08/2024: Incroyable! Nous nous sommes régalés de l'entrée au dessert. Des assiettes pleines de saveurs et joliment présentées. A ne pas rater.

12/08/2024: Pas aimable, nourriture très bof, frites pas cuites, dans la formule le rib plein de gras, pain dur comme tu béton, moules bof, service limite, un conseil fuyez ! Jamais on y retournera

12/08/2024: Accueil très médiocre, la propriétaire désagréable, même pas un sourire sur son visage et pas aimable. Mon beau-frère a pris des ribs, au final il n’y avait presque rien à manger. Mes frites n’étais pas cuites ni celle de ma sœur. Ma sœur a prix un menu avec des moules, certaines n’étaient pas assez cuites et n’avait pas un très grande quantité, le pain est dur et la bière de même. Service très beauf on avait surtout l’impression de déranger. Je ne recommande pas.

06/08/2024: We have eaten here before when staying at the hotel and the food is good. This time the restaurant was busy and the service was appalling. Despite having a reservation we waited 50 minutes for our order to be taken, reminding them twice and seeing people who came in after us being served. It was another 40 minutes before we had our first course. The next morning I asked to speak to the manager but he was at the market. I was promised that someone would get in touch with me but I heard nothing. Despite this being a nice hotel to stay on the way to the channel ports we will not be doing so again.

20/07/2024: Première visite en août 2018 et deuxième juillet 2024...et toujours aussi bon ! Personnel agréable, ni guindé, ni austère et surtout sans fausseté comme souvent l'on peut voir dans les restaurants type gastronomiques...Excellente cuisine, fine, recherchée, raffinée. Nous avons encore passé un agréable moment.

27/08/2024: Pleasant 3-night stay in the Primavéra hotel, ideally located a few steps from the Flyin Club festival; discovery of Saint Palais and the Primavera hotel thanks to this event which for the second year delivered incredible concerts (big names, such as Etienne de Crecy or Kavinsky (see Photo), notably present during the ceremony closing of the 2024 Olympics!) and a great atmosphere. What a joy to enjoy such a setting, coupled with a festival that brings youth and dynamism to the city! Regarding the room, sublime view but somewhat outdated equipment for the price. The elevator could do with a little overhaul, we could hear the door creaking/slamming every time someone used the elevator. Very kind staff, who listened to our requests. I also strongly recommend the rooms with a sea view, however it seems to me that without this argument I would not return to the Primavera hotel given the dilapidation of the building. To conclude, magnificent potential (a place full of history) but unfortunately too many things to improve. We look forward to coming back to see you for the next edition of the Flyin Club! 18/10/2025: Very beautiful view from the terrace on the beach of Pontaillac, friendly and intimate place. Large variety of carefully selected regional alcohol and very good advice!

12/09/2025: A really great shop! Even though I didn’t try any wine, I discovered a very interesting gin here. The owner is relaxed and friendly, and the crowd is just as pleasant and engaging. The location of the shop is excellent. I sampled a delicious gin and bought it right away – absolutely recommendable. A new day, a new chance – and also a new gin. Simply delicious!

17/08/2024: Le site est bien aménagé. La cuisine du restaurant est tout à fait ordinaire à co-notation asiatique/vegan : tomates mozza, taboule, nouilles légumes poulet, Le prix des boissons est excessif.

27/05/2024: Nous voulions juste boire un verre, on nous donne une carte de boissons, on a attendu attendu, on est parti. Nous sommes restaurateurs sur oleron : les prix pratiqués dans cet établissement sont exorbitants ! Avec 1 table de 2 dans la salle, à 3 ils n'étaient pas débordés ! Lamentable!!!

02/08/2024: Alisson, responsable du restaurant, très désagréable. Mauvaise volonté, impossible de prendre le petit déjeuner sur la magnifique terrasse car elle a déjà dressé la table la veille au soir pour le déjeuner du lendemain midi.

22/04/2024: Sans restaurant désormais le nouvel hôtel Le Français a changé de tout. Confort, service (Sandrine, Joy), chambres, etc...une expérience sympathique et réussie. On recommande particulièrement la grande chambre 32 à ,l'étage avec trois fenêtres sur le port et ses équipements neufs. petit déjeuner en supplément un peu cher mais bien aussi.

11/12/2024: 3 Stars, sometimes it seems harsh. But for this review, this does not constitute a bad rating. Beautiful menu, quick response on the phone, pizzas delivered with great kindness, fair price. But despite the ingredients which seem good and the dough which is also good, I found the taste ordinary. Not bad. But I didn't enjoy it. To try again on another recipe?

01/11/2024: I have just corrected my son's opinion, it was a direct reaction, yes I was disappointed but it is very rare on the part of look pizza. I remain very picky about the quality of what I eat. My children were delighted and devoured theirs. So far I've had almost no negative opinions on what we ordered, I just didn't come across the pizza that I liked, that's all.
