23/06/2026: It has now been four years since your establishment's air conditioning system was last operational. Despite your repeated assurances that it has been repaired, it is clear that this is not the case. Three possibilities present themselves: either your technician declared a fictitious repair—which would constitute fraud—or the work was never completed, or you are deliberately choosing not to operate it. In any case, the situation is unacceptable. Temperatures measured between 28 and 31°C represent a real health risk, particularly for vulnerable individuals, regardless of heat waves. This is not a matter of comfort; it is a matter of safety. I remember a time when this equipment worked perfectly. It is still in place, but clearly not maintained—like many other things in this establishment, unfortunately. A quick reminder: The manager has a general obligation of safety towards their customers (Article L. 421-3 of the French Consumer Code). If the heat endangers the health of members, the gym owner may be held civilly or criminally liable in the event of serious illness. If the temperature makes exercise impossible, the user can request the cancellation of their membership without penalty (or its suspension) for "legitimate reasons" (the gym's failure to properly fulfill its contractual obligations). Gym employees can exercise their right to refuse to work or alert the labor inspectorate if the employer does not provide fresh water and adequate ventilation/cooling systems. Legal aspects: Article L. 421-3 of the Consumer Code. The rule: The manager has a general obligation of safety. Exercising in temperatures of 28°C or higher presents a foreseeable risk of illness and dehydration. Mandatory inspections: Air conditioning: Articles R. 224-45 to R. 224-45-9 of the Environmental Code. A complete inspection by a professional is mandatory every 5 years (large systems > 70 kW) or every 2 years (systems from 4 to 70 kW). Ventilation: Article R. 4222-20 of the French Labor Code + Departmental Health Regulations. Verification of fresh air flow rates and cleaning of filters are mandatory annually.

31/05/2026: Our recent stay at Hôtel À La Cour d’Alsace in Obernai was a very pleasant experience. We drove from Germany and found the hotel relatively easy to locate despite its position within the historic town center. The narrow one-way street leading to the property is clearly signposted, and guests can either drive directly into the hotel courtyard for check-in or use the conveniently located parking area just before the entrance. The check-in process was smooth and welcoming. The receptionist spoke both English and German fluently, making communication effortless, and personally guided us to the entrance of our building. This thoughtful touch immediately set a positive tone for our stay. The hotel itself is charmingly laid out, with rooms distributed across several interconnected buildings. We stayed in the newer section adjacent to the swimming pool, which proved to be an excellent choice. Given the unusually warm weather for late May, with temperatures reaching 31°C, the built-in air conditioning was greatly appreciated and ensured a comfortable stay throughout. Our Deluxe Room was spacious, well-appointed, and thoughtfully designed. We particularly appreciated the separate shower and toilet areas, with the washbasin located in its own dedicated space. Practical amenities included a safe, an empty refrigerator, approximately ten clothes hangers, a hairdryer, a well-lit mirror, and a magnifying mirror. Bathrobes, towels, and slippers were also provided, making visits to the swimming pool convenient and enjoyable. There were a few minor drawbacks. No iron or ironing board was available in the room. Additionally, the lighting controls were somewhat unconventional, using touch-sensitive switches that occasionally behaved unpredictably. A few ceiling spotlights were not functioning; however, the room remained pleasantly illuminated thanks to the abundance of ambient lighting. One of the hotel’s standout features is its peaceful garden courtyard. Although the bar was not open during our stay, the reception staff were happy to serve drinks, which could be enjoyed outdoors amidst birdsong and tranquil surroundings. For a hotel located in the very center of town, this quiet retreat was exceptional. The main square of Obernai is only a two-minute walk away, making the location ideal for exploring the town on foot. Breakfast was satisfactory but not particularly memorable. The hot selection was limited to scrambled eggs, spinach, and locally produced sausage pieces. The pancakes were served cold, which was somewhat disappointing. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hôtel À La Cour d’Alsace. Its excellent central location, spacious and comfortable rooms, free parking, effective air conditioning, peaceful garden setting, and friendly multilingual staff make it an excellent choice for visitors to

28/05/2026: We spent one night at this hotel. The location is perfect for exploring the city on foot. The rooms are simple, the bedding impeccable, the bathroom a bit dated. Breakfast is plentiful, but nothing is homemade. Regarding the spa, only the pool and sauna were open. There was no bar service available other than self-service tea. If you're looking for a "spa," look elsewhere.

26/05/2026: Stopped at Black Horse during a motorcycle trip through France — six of us, hungry and looking for a proper lunch. We were not disappointed. We all went for the aubergine with rice and minced meat, and it was a genuinely surprising dish: deep, layered flavours, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. Not the kind of thing you expect to stumble upon mid-ride, which made it all the better. The terrace in the shade was the perfect spot to cool down, take off the gear, and enjoy a relaxed meal together. Friendly atmosphere, no fuss, just good food and a nice setting. Highly recommended if you’re passing through. We’ll be back.

17/05/2026: A wonderful time at Chez Youpel! We ordered two sauerkraut dishes, and they were truly excellent: very generous portions, with perfectly cooked, high-quality meat. Both the cabbage and the potatoes were superb; we thoroughly enjoyed our meal from start to finish. To accompany our meal, we tried two spring beers, which were also very good and paired perfectly with the sauerkraut. And to top it all off, the desserts were also excellent! Special mention goes to the waitress, who was absolutely lovely throughout the entire meal: welcoming, smiling, and very attentive. Her warm welcome made the meal even more enjoyable. A truly wonderful place that we highly recommend. Be sure to make a reservation! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Parents, please, you're responsible for your children and don't let them scream in a restaurant, for goodness sake! 😭 It's a matter of respect for the servers and the other customers! New staff have arrived in the meantime, and let's be honest... The waiter is incredibly rude...
