25/04/2026: I recently had the pleasure of dining at L’Auberge du Daubenschlag, and it was a truly delightful experience. The atmosphere is warm and authentic, perfect for a convivial and enjoyable meal. The service is attentive without being intrusive, which makes the meal even more pleasant. The waitresses are attentive and incredibly kind! I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to leave with a full stomach! 😋🤗

24/08/2026: Outdated information. This restaurant doesn't serve sauerkraut in the summer, lol. The daily special is supposedly an unbeatable €10, but it's village canteen quality. Sad and bland. They make up for it on drinks, though, with coffee at €3! I definitely don't recommend this restaurant. The service was friendly enough, but the cook was slow, especially considering the mediocre daily special. A huge disappointment.

24/08/2026: We're on holiday in Gunstett. On the recommendation of the potter on the same street as the restaurant, we called to order three sauerkraut dishes... we were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent. Everything is homemade. The sauerkraut was delicious, my daughter loved her steak tartare, and the two little ones enjoyed their ham and chips, which were served like royalty. We will gladly return as soon as the opportunity arises. Thank you and best of luck! The 6 Northerners 😋😉

We had a wonderful time at this restaurant: a very friendly atmosphere, a warm welcome, and above all, truly delicious food! 😋 A special mention to John, our server, who was absolutely fantastic! 👏 Very friendly, professional, and attentive, he took the time to explain to us transparently why the restaurant had discontinued the all-you-can-eat carpaccio option, which was unfortunately no longer profitable for them. He then gave us a very clear presentation of their new carpaccio option: 4 plates for €24.90, with the option to add 2 extra plates for just €5, making it €29.90 for approximately 470g of meat in total. Frankly, the value for money is still very good, especially considering the quality and enjoyment of the food! 🥩🤩 We truly appreciated the time John dedicated to explaining everything to us, always with a smile and great kindness. It's exactly this kind of service that makes you want to come back! A very friendly restaurant, impeccable service, and truly delicious food. 29/08/2026: A lovely meal in a beautiful corner of Strasbourg. My ham hock was a bit cold, but tasted perfectly fine and was served with good sauerkraut. The rösti casserole was good! Definitely a bit pricey, but totally acceptable considering the location.

16/08/2026: The all-inclusive offer is very attractive for refined and delicious dishes. The service is perfect and friendly. However, there were no amuse-bouches with the aperitif, and the small cake served with coffee was pathetic. This is a shame and not up to the standard of a fine-dining restaurant. Another drawback is that the menu doesn't change for over a month, and only one dessert is offered with no other options.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the dishes are generous and delicious, and the service is very friendly. You feel right at home from the moment you arrive. A place full of character that I recommend without hesitation!
