13/03/2026: Sorry, I had justified my rating, but the text didn't appear. Here it is: we chose your restaurant for its ambiance. However, the baeckeoffe served was very dry. The potatoes were mushy (except for the one on top, which was burnt) and dry, as was the meat; there wasn't a single drop of juice.

07/03/2026: Excellent food, a menu featuring typical Alsatian cuisine. It was truly delicious. The location is also worth the trip: it probably hasn't changed much in 130 years. Warm welcome. A very pleasant evening.

08/04/2026: We went there before and after the renovation, and both times we were disappointed. It's not good value for money. For me, a fish casserole is something you expect a lot from, especially when they list all the allergens and everything else you should find on the first page. I'm really sorry, but I was hungry, and my husband didn't eat the fish; it was so bland. €24 per plate, even the bread was bland. I make better at home. Nothing made us want to come back, sorry. Not even your new decor. Best of luck.

29/11/2025: If you want a lunch special that's been reheated or simply kept warm for ages (today's chicken cordon bleu), go for it! Otherwise, steer clear! And to top it off, the wine we ordered never arrived... And the hanger steak was definitely half a hanger steak! And the lady at the counter, she needs to know when to stop!

You enter a beautiful place and are greeted by Sandra, who kindly explains the restaurant and its rules. Like many, I'm often on my phone, hence this review, which I hope will be constructive. But I tried it. You truly step into another era. The entire decor is based on antique objects like kettles, cast-iron pots, and other vintage items that you no longer find in everyday stores. It's a bit like a flea market, but most of these items are new or have been restored. They are mostly made by local or regional artisans in small quantities, and it serves as a kind of showcase. You can buy them at the end of your meal, and the restaurant doesn't take a commission. For those who are wary of the word "flea market," everything is very clean and tastefully presented. You can see that it has been carefully considered and designed to be both pleasant and unobtrusive. This has nothing to do with the typical image of a flea market. As for the food, it's small, slow-cooked dishes. Well, when I say small, you still need to have a good appetite because the portions are generous. They arrive in earthenware dishes, which is very practical because it keeps everything warm, just like our grandmothers used to do. So you can chat with friends or people at the next table without worrying about it getting cold. This restaurant encourages direct communication between people. The calm atmosphere, the decor, the friendliness—everything contributes to helping you disconnect from technology. I not only enjoyed delicious, comforting, slow-cooked dishes prepared by Olivier, but I also found myself chatting with people at the next table whom I didn't know. 24/05/2026: A stop at this charming restaurant during a road trip was such a pleasant surprise! The welcome was very warm. We absolutely loved it; the food was delicious and expertly prepared. The portions were generous but not excessive. The prices are more than reasonable considering the quality. The phone-free concept contributes to the warm atmosphere, which is fantastic. Don't worry, they don't accept credit cards; there's an ATM right next door.

03/05/2026: I love this place! I've been four times already. Every time I go to Strasbourg, I eat here. It's very peaceful and not touristy. The food is typical of Alsace. The coffee is some of the best I've ever had, and the desserts are delicious.

05/01/2026: We expected something much better since it is housed in the Gallerie Lafayette building. A real disappointment. The wait to order... was quite long. although in fact one person was serving. Prices are comparable to the city but for a small quantity. The space is suffocating and comparing it to the building in Paris, I really think you only go there out of necessity. The toilets, let's emphasize that they charge you €1 per person but at least they are very clean.

26/04/2026: A very bad experience today at this establishment, which will soon be able to put up a sign saying "Closed due to wealth." I was planning to visit this establishment with my 91-year-old mother, who lives in the village nursing home. For your information, I already travel 40 km to get to this remote place. There isn't a single tea room, café, or pastry shop for miles around. So, I took precautions and called the establishment at 12:30 pm on the day of my visit to ask if it was possible to come in the afternoon for coffee, cake, or ice cream. I was told yes, that the "tea room" service was open from 3 pm. I asked if I needed to make a reservation, and they asked how many people I was in. I said two, and they replied, "No need to make a reservation." I went to pick up my mother from the nursing home, took her for a walk, and arrived at the facility around 3:30-3:40 PM. We were told very curtly that there were no seats in the dining room and that we should look "downstairs," but that it was probably full. I reminded the woman that I had called anyway, and her response was, "I told you we don't take reservations." No, ma'am, you told me that for two people there was no need to reserve. Anyway. I found myself at 4:00 PM with my mother in my arms and nowhere to go for coffee, and of course, I hadn't planned to bring cake like I usually do when I visit her at the nursing home and we have coffee there. 4:00 PM was too late to go to Haguenau or Wissembourg. Madam, with this attitude towards customers, you'll soon have no reason to complain about having too many. As for me, you've only ruined one afternoon with my mother. I will NEVER set foot in your money-making machine. PS: The waiter downstairs was just as pleasant.
