29/07/2026: Tarte flambee definitely worth the taste which we took as an appetizer. But they come with the suggestions and one of them is pasta pesto (which was good). After eating several days of local food this would have been the ideal variety in diet. Although we were the first ones there, they told us they were not sure if there was still some pasta left. Only 2 portions for the kids were left. Very strange as it was a suggestion. It felt like the adults were forced to take a more expensive dish. So we took the steak. It was not good. So I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. Especially because you look for a local restaurant away from the touristic places.

28/07/2026: A lovely discovery on the way home. Small but varied menu. Everything is homemade. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Warm welcome. Friendly staff. My 8-year-old son gave a special mention to the very clean and pleasant restrooms.

15/06/2026: I came to eat at this charming restaurant and ordered a sirloin steak, which was clearly faulty as it had a strong taste of dish soap/sour. After offering me something else to eat (which I refused because I was disgusted), the owner didn't even have the decency to offer us drinks or make any kind of gesture of goodwill, barely even a "sorry," implying that the problem was me because they had tasted the meat and hadn't noticed anything wrong... either they have a problem with their palate or their bad faith got the better of them... what a shame, we won't be back

26/05/2026: I stayed here twice because I liked it so much. This place is a little old and run down, but it has a lot of charm. I just felt good there and had both times a room with view to the church. They are also very dog friendly!

20/08/2026: A wonderful discovery on our way to the Black Forest! We stopped at the Auberge du Waldmeister for lunch and had a lovely time. The Norwegian salad was generously filled with bacon and delicious. But the real highlight was the homemade chocolate mousse… absolutely excellent! A truly authentic mousse that reminded me of the one my Belgian grandmother used to make. Needless to say, the Weck didn't last long! A great place to stop again if we're ever in the area. 🤗🍫

06/04/2026: I don't comment very often during my trips (I think this is actually the first time). However, I think the owners and Staff from Hotel-Restaurant La Bonne Franquette absolutely deserved it. I spent my 2026 Easter Weekend there. My room was clean and the bed very comfy, the food at the restaurant was excellent. But most importantly, the Staff was simply incredible. I hope that my trips will bring me back to the Alsace, if this happen, I will book there again on a heartbeat.

13/07/2026: We had a reservation for two on Saturday, July 11th. Upon arrival, we noticed that our waiter, Nicolas, was alone in the dining room, while there were at least 30 other customers. We thought the service would be slow, but no, Nicolas was fantastic! He handled everything without complaint, always with a smile! The food was excellent! The service was excellent, and the prices were reasonable! What more could you ask for?! Kudos to Nicolas and the chef for their outstanding service! 👏

28/08/2026: After almost 30 years, unfortunately very disappointing. We've been going to La Couronne since I was a small child – first at the restaurant next door, and after it closed, at the current La Couronne. The tarte flambée is still incredibly delicious and usually a reason to keep coming back. Unfortunately, the service has become so disappointing that after almost 30 years, we're seriously considering not coming back. We had reserved a table for 14 people. One person from our group arrived on time and wanted to take the reserved table. However, this was refused because we weren't all there yet. The rest of the group was significantly delayed due to road closures and traffic. We apologized several times for this. After a lengthy discussion, we were finally given the table anyway, even though three people were still missing. So we were already seated at the table and had ordered food and drinks for all 14 of us. And that's precisely when the truly incomprehensible part began: Despite having ordered for all 14 people, we were repeatedly subjected to unpleasant and snide remarks. These included comments along the lines of: "We don't care if you've already ordered for everyone." "Such rudeness, coming so late." And regarding the three people who were still missing: "You can eat it yourselves without the others." Even though we had already ordered for all 14 people, they then tried to take part of our table away. This was only stopped after further discussion. Unfortunately, there were also other unpleasant situations with the service itself: Our salads had been sitting on the table for about 20 minutes. When we politely asked for plates, we were simply told: "Every guest gets plates here." We then waited another 15 minutes or so for these plates. We had a meeting with clients that evening, so we deliberately didn't respond and simply endured the situation. Privately, we probably would have gotten up and left much earlier. It's a shame, because the food is really good. But good food alone isn't enough when, as a long-time customer, you feel so unwelcome and treated with such disrespect. After almost 30 years, this experience is particularly disappointing. Unfortunately, such treatment is absolutely no longer an option for us when dining with clients.
