22/09/2025: The welcome and the terrace are pleasant, but I was very disappointed by the food. I ordered a sole dish with vegetables and fries, and unfortunately the sole was overcooked and lacking in freshness, while the fries were too greasy. For a dish costing over €25, I expected better quality. Too bad, I will not return to this restaurant.

07/03/2026: A solid lower-cost, unpretentious option with all the amenities and basic things you would need to support a great ski trip in Chamonix. The bus stops steps from the hotel taking you to all the surrounding ski resorts and downtown chamonix for transfer to the airport or the bus to Italy, Valle Blanche, etc. The staff are great and make sure you have everything you need, and are willing to keep your ski bags, boots, gear, etc stored in the boot room downstairs while you wait for your next travel plans. There is WiFi that works well from the room and from the lounge downstairs if you need to hop on work calls and get work done. I had no connection issues. Les Praz is a good location (and closer) to the resorts up the valley such as Le Flegere, Grands Montets, and Le Tour. 20 minute walk to downtown Chamonix on a lovely river-side path.

23/02/2026: A family-run hotel ideally located for winter or summer sports, and also perfect for a truly royal breakfast. The welcome from this family is exceptional.

04/03/2026: Thank you for the warm welcome and prompt service. We shared the raclette for two. Very good. A minor point about the charcuterie 😉 Perhaps the selection could be rebalanced. - less potato - less cheese 🧀 - more charcuterie Also, a wider selection of white wine by the glass would be appreciated. We had a very pleasant time.

01/03/2026: Avoid this establishment unless you have a deep affection for disappointment and an evening to waste. A group of us went for what was supposed to be a straightforward, reliable dinner. Nothing adventurous. No molecular gastronomy. Just classic dishes that countless kitchens manage perfectly well every single day. Apparently, that was already asking too much. The meals arrived with all the consistency of a raffle draw. Same items ordered, yet each plate looked like it had been prepared by a different person in a different decade, with only a vague description passed between them. Gratin dauphinois was more fondue with small suggestions of potato, peppercorn sauce was all cream no peppercorns The steaks we ordered were like nothing I've experienced - texture was a particular highlight. As much as I love the versatility of oxen from hides to steaks there are only certain cuts suitable for for the dining table. Alpine Lodge seems to think chewing down on a firm leather hide as a delicacy - I do not share the same fervour for dining on that part of the cow. It was less dining, more sensory confusion. When we raised this — calmly, I might add — the response was astonishing. Not concern. Not even polite indifference. Instead, we were treated to a masterclass in defensiveness, as though we had personally offended the chef’s ancestry. There was a lot of explaining, very little listening, and absolutely no sense that customer satisfaction had entered the building at any point. Attempts to resolve things dragged on far longer than the meal itself. Every simple point required discussion, consultation, and what felt like an internal tribunal. You’d think we were disputing a property boundary rather than asking why dinner was inedible. Eventually, a partial concession was made, seemingly as a gesture of exhaustion rather than goodwill. By that stage, we’d lost our appetites and most of our enthusiasm for humanity. We left underfed, overcharged, and baffled that a place dedicated to serving food could appear so surprised when asked to do it well. There are plenty of places nearby that understand the basics: cook the food properly, treat people decently, and don’t argue with the table. Try one of those instead. Rotonde was by far our favourite One star. Generous, if anything.

19/05/2026: Incredible dishes. First time at this restaurant. By far the best fondue I've ever had. Very, very good quality. +1 for the service. We arrived on a Friday evening without a reservation (for two). The receptionist kindly took us in and found us a great table. We were served very quickly. In short, I highly recommend it; it's refreshing to find a restaurant with such high quality. Proof of that is that I finished everything!

26/04/2026: Excellent setting and food to match, the aesthetics of the restaurant reflect the rustic agricultural setting of pre-skiing Megeve. The pork with caramel sauce was absolutely delicious, and the snow peas were snappy and sweet. A shame this restaurant is faraway from where I live, as I would love to frequent this establishment.

30/11/2025: An authentic, unpretentious establishment, but the food is so good, and you add to that a dynamic and smiling waitress with the eye of a true professional – what more could you ask for?!

03/03/2026: The welcome was fantastic, with smiles and genuine friendliness. The staff were very helpful and offered great advice. I highly recommend it for lunch or for drinks after skiing – a truly wonderful experience. A family-friendly place, I highly recommend it.

26/04/2026: This was our second visit to this restaurant and we're still not disappointed. The service and food were excellent, and to top it all off, the owners are very friendly!

05/04/2026: Pleasantly surprised! Good daily special for €19 and draft beer for €5. Terrace overlooking the mountain range. As a native of the valley, I know that mountain restaurants don't have a very positive reputation. But this place was good and reasonably priced, so I recommend it!

30/03/2026: Very expensive, average (at best) food, slow and fairly grumpy service. Burger was ok, but not for €26, tartiflette also ok but again, only average and poor for the price, salads were really bad, probably worst Cesar salad I've ever had and for €21! Reckon the paltry ingredients cost less than €1. Nice views.

08/03/2026: A lovely family run hotel in a perfect location right at the bottom of the Prodains Express lift. We have stayed here 4 times now, and it’s always a lovely stay. The whole family work really hard to ensure that their guests have a great stay. The restaurant is excellent with lots of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The heated outdoor pool was opened this year too, which is a fantastic addition to an already great hotel. See you next year ⛷️

28/02/2026: Unbelievable. I sat down at a table for two next to a table for four that was just becoming available before I caught my bus, so I could grab a coffee. The waiter arrived. I politely asked for a coffee. He told me, "This is a table for six," as if it were perfectly obvious. A family arrived a little after me. So the waiter simply brushed me off without serving me or even trying to find a solution (which wouldn't have been difficult). Maybe I don't look rich enough to be honored with a coffee. How rude.

10/05/2026: Great service, we had a good time with a helpful waitress, only unacceptable to leave a single person to manage the service alone on a public holiday, and to reprimand her for the slightest mistake.

09/05/2026: One of the worst cappuccino I ever had. Way too hot, almost no milk foam and generally bitter sour taste.

14/06/2026: Superb aquatic center. Clean pool and changing rooms. Great relaxation area with hammam and sauna. Rooftop to soak up the sun. Absolutely fantastic!

08/06/2026: Great pool. Quite a bit of hair in the changing cubicles, but otherwise it's a lovely municipal pool.

24/12/2025: Mixed experience. We came on a Sunday as a family for lunch while visiting the Christmas market. We ordered the daily special, which was croziflette. Unfortunately, the portions were too small. The adults received the same amount as the children. We left hungry. The children, however, thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

12/12/2025: Fast service, attentive waiter, very good food. I recommend it!

13/06/2026: A cute cabin in the mountains right next to Col de Joly, which is a stunning view point. The food was simple compared to other cabins, but they took into account our personal food preferences. The owners helped us find a solution to a hiking problem that we had to face the day after our overnight stay due to snow, and ended up giving us a ride to the nearby village because we couldn't find a solution. The shower and toilet are connected to the bedroom, which helped when it rained, but the equipment room is separate from the bedroom, which makes it difficult to bring equipment, especially since the equipment room is locked at night. There are 2 shower cubicles and one toilet cubicle inside one of them, and it's a shame to use the wifi, which is only used for the credit card payment system, and it's a shame there's no cell phone reception. The view is stunning
