29/08/2024: I can understand the tourist rip-off thing. €14 for 2 cappuccinos and 2 croissants?? This is outrageous. However, the coffee was good and so was the croissant.

06/07/2025: An unforgettable stay at La Cordée – a true haven of peace in Chamonix Belonging to 112 We stayed for a week at the La Cordée residence, and it was a simply fantastic experience! Nestled in an exceptional setting, this residence offers incredible views of Mont Blanc, the Aiguille du Midi, and even the little red train of the Mer de Glace, which you can see passing by in the distance from the balcony… A true daily spectacle. Underground parking if needed. But beyond this breathtaking panorama, what makes La Cordée unique is its high-end facilities, which clearly exceeded all our expectations: • A heated indoor pool with views of the peaks • A jacuzzi with a panoramic view of Mont Blanc, perfect for relaxing after a day in the mountains • A modern gym, an indoor climbing wall, and even a wellness area • A billiards table, a foosball table, a cozy reading corner, and large, tastefully decorated common lounges • Outside: deckchairs facing the mountains, a small, peaceful lake, and even binoculars available to admire the peaks up close Everything has been designed for the comfort, relaxation, and enjoyment of its residents, in a calm and elegant atmosphere. 24/02/2025: The most horrible experience we have ever encountered in this lovely town. The owner/gérant was very rude, the drinks were disgusting (sour beer, too old) and he was angry on us because we had to clean the table ourselves. We didn’t know. We were so surprised to clean the table that we talked about it at the reception … but he heard us and (cherry on the cake) he cancelled the booking we had at his restaurant a few days later … because we complained… when enquired why the reservation was cancelled the owner responded that he is "independent from Pierre & Vacances » and he can do whatever he wants 🤯 2 couples with 3 children.. very much not recommended !

19/04/2025: We had a wonderful time skiing with my family down from Flaine at the end of March, visiting at least four times Auberge de Vernant. Gerard and his team made us feel incredibly welcome. Our son particularly loved the place decorations featuring antique Savoyard tools. We also enjoyed exploring the various restaurants in Flaine and Grand Massif. One of our favorite discoveries was the delicious chocolate with homemade whipped cream, which was not only tasty but also reasonably priced compared to other chalets in Flaine. What truly impressed us was Gerard's hospitality - he gifted us exquisite New Zealand chocolates and even gave us a book about Flaine's history. 25/03/2025: The room and toilets of the hostel are closed, we were only allowed the terrace and self-service (not cheaper though). We were shown the toilets at the chairlift, "because if we understood correctly, the fake one had already been emptied twice, (we want to make the tourist pay, but it shouldn't cost us!!!). WE WILL NOT GO BACK!

26/09/2024: Beautiful restaurant, nice atmosphere, the servers are pleasant. On the other hand, very expensive compared to the quantity on the plates. Very unfortunate indeed

28/01/2025: Decent restaurant, no reservations so if you're at peak time might be risky (and there's a lot of tables squeezed in here). The meals were pretty good but portion size was small. Our visit probably made worse by a very loud table drinking nearby.

27/01/2025: Terrible meal, worst I have experienced in many years across many countries (I eat in restaurants on average 3+ times per week). Inedible, I left it all. Despite being in a large group with a big spend, and after being told what the problem was with my meal, the restaurant did not offer to remove the charge for the uneaten meal. I guess the overall low review rating for the restaurant speaks for itself. It does not deserve even 1 star, if I could give zero stars, I would.
