14/05/2026: Don't leave Lille without trying the chef's specialties. He's passionate about cooking with local products (high-quality meat and bread from neighboring shops, farmhouse cheddar that's nothing like the supermarket kind) and he takes the time to ask for our feedback with great kindness. The service was also perfect. These days, that's so rare it deserves to be highlighted. We were just passing through Lille, but we've kept the address and will definitely be back. Thank you again! 21/05/2026: With my wife, on a Wednesday evening. You can tell it's homemade, very good. The menu is well done because it includes notes on the spice level: 🌶️ or 🌶️🌶️ or none at all. For an aperitif, we had the to-punch...wow!!! 😁 And all served with a smile. We were delighted and will definitely go back.

Whether after work, before heading back, with family, friends, one friend, two friends, three friends, four friends—I'm sure it would be great even on your own. All the set menus are perfect. From excellent steak tartare and a truly satisfying Welsh rarebit to delicious meat dishes and tempting daily specials, all topped off with attentive, cheerful, and generous service! Regardless of the menu, you'll be warmly welcomed and well served. Go for it! A place where you feel good and eat well.

13/07/2026: It's not that far from Brussels. With La Condition Publique nearby, Roubaix is ​​fantastic, especially for eating at this place that makes the best Welsh rarebit on earth. The owner, who is also an artist and photographer, provides creative and cheerful service. I'll definitely be going back soon and inviting some friends.

02/07/2026: We went for lunch on Saturday, June 27th at Café Jean. Excellent brasserie! Delicious and flavorful dishes! The tarte tatin was amazing with a scoop of mango ice cream 😉 The owner was really friendly. A lovely experience after shopping at Mac Arthur Glen. We'll definitely be back!

18/05/2026: Excellent brasserie, everything is homemade from start to finish, delicious! I'd only deduct one star for the small amount of fries and side dishes on the plate... those fries baskets are a real rip-off in restaurants, although they're becoming more and more common, which is a shame. Generosity is the norm in a brasserie, and a small side salad would have been welcome. Aside from that, it was very good and the service was great too.

25/04/2026: The welcome, the food, the friendliness of the staff, and the generous portions are all exceptional. Personally, I've rarely eaten such a tender Welsh rarebit. All the flavors are there: cheddar, beer, ham, mustard. The homemade fries are a delight and incredibly easy to digest. Madame's hanger steak with shallots is a pure marvel, and the shallot confit isn't just for show. I finished with a Cuba/coffret... Unlike many other establishments, here, it's the coffee you're really looking for, given the strong rum flavor. Despite a recent change of ownership, I'm happy that the continuity that makes the establishment so special has remained intact. This is a place, a true gem of a restaurant, to remember and share with friends and epicureans who love good (light 😂😂) Flemish cuisine.

29/03/2026: We came to the area to buy furniture. After a three-hour drive, we needed a place to eat. The salesperson recommended this place. We highly recommend it; the welcome was fantastic, the service impeccable, and the food more than adequate. We couldn't even have dessert because it was so generous.
