The welcome was very poor, cold, I'd even say glacial... but with a smile that was more than forced! I think you should close the restaurant if your customers bother you... In short, I won't say any more... I do not recommend this restaurant. It's better to travel a few kilometers and support those who actually want to work.

19/09/2026: We had a delicious meal yesterday! We had two pizzas: chicken/chorizo ​​and burrata/pesto. I have never eaten such a richly topped pizza. They used high-quality ingredients too. The service was very friendly, even though they had to serve a full terrace with just two people. Kudos to the staff and the chef!

19/08/2026: No complaints about the service. However, the quality of the food and the chef's attitude make one long for the days when this brasserie was renowned. Indeed, the ribeye steak I was served, besides being overcooked (I ordered it rare), was ridiculously small and, above all, extremely tough, to the point that I had to send it back. The cook sent it back with the sinew removed (a quarter of the steak) and the rest cut into small pieces! So I returned the plate to him and endured his disdainful attitude. I finally left having only ordered a starter, a tiny portion of overly vinegary baby squid.

31/07/2026: €5.20 for a zucchini, carrot, and cumin quiche that was way too salty. As for the falafels, they were falafels in name only, and you'd really have to know nothing about them to think they were good. Not to mention that the 30-cent bag didn't even last 20 seconds. The only positive thing was the friendliness of the saleswoman.

30/07/2026: My fiance and I had an extended stay in Biarritz and, when we weren’t out at the restaurants, this place kept us extremely well fed. There was always something new and fresh to try whenever we stopped in. The staff is also very friendly!

I went there on Sunday; I'd read it opened at 4 PM, and being in Biarritz, it's quite a drive, and it was closed. Pffft. On the way back, we went to the Col d'Ibardin, and there it was open. The man told me I had to take it out two hours beforehand. I said, "Really? That long?" And he said, "It's a freezer room." Ah, okay. So it defrosted nicely, and it's fine. But why does it cost €25? Stewed pears and crème brûlée aren't exactly expensive products.

21/09/2026: In a wonderful atmosphere, the restaurant "La Comédie" offers a quality menu with simple but homemade dishes. The service is very pleasant and the staff charming. My wife and I go there very regularly, and it's always a little slice of happiness.

05/06/2026: We spent four nights there on a half-board basis. Hotel: The room was very clean, comfortable, and functional. A bonus: it had air conditioning. A lovely swimming pool with a nice relaxation area awaited us. Breakfast offered both sweet and savory options. The restaurant, with its superb mountain views, served high-quality regional dishes made with local produce. It was excellent and very generous. It has a family atmosphere where everyone (waitresses, cooks, owner) is truly very friendly, smiling, and attentive to their guests. The owner recommended some fantastic excursions! The icing on the cake: the bill wasn't exorbitant. Thank you for this stay!

31/05/2026: I was very disappointed by my experience at this establishment. The duck breast served was completely lacking in freshness: it was clearly cooked the day before and simply reheated. The result on the plate was extremely dry meat, which the chef attempted to mask with a generous layer of sauce. This is a shame for a restaurant that emphasizes local produce. I do not recommend it.

21/09/2026: A strategic bakery in the neighborhood, thankfully it's there in the evening when we need it! The pastries could use a little more chocolate, but a big thank you for the work you do, even at night; we need more resilient businesses in this district.

20/08/2026: Over an hour and a half wait for the daily special. Not many more seats than in an open-air restaurant, so they can't even use the excuse of being busy. The meat is very good, it's a shame the chef doesn't know how to cook it properly. When you order medium-rare and well-done, both arrive rare; they shouldn't have asked us to cook them at all. I strongly advise against going there.

26/07/2026: The setting is pleasant. The menu is good value for money. Nothing exceptional. One sliced ​​tomato for the starter, for example. In the summer, avoid eating outside under the trees if there are no parasols. Insects, like aphids, fall from the trees in large quantities, landing in your hair, on your arms, and in your food. When you ask to eat inside, it's possible, but the response is "it's nature." Both the man and woman are only 10 minutes apart, so we suspect this is a well-rehearsed speech, that it's not the first time, and that the customer is being treated like an idiot. But this is where the hygiene of the food comes in. We certainly appreciate nature and the sound of a rooster crowing, but we don't appreciate eating insects on our plate, even if it's a €16 set menu and we're not in a 5-star restaurant. This is not a response worthy of a restaurateur.

27/08/2026: What a disappointment! Ever since I was little, I've been used to eating the famous Basque cake from Moulin de Bassilour. But I have to resign myself to speaking of it in the past tense. I came this summer with the firm intention of rediscovering those flavors of yesteryear. So you can imagine my disappointment when I tasted this cake. It was dry, with far too little butter in the dough, and the proportion of cream in the cake was clearly insufficient. Moreover, the cream had a rubbery texture in the mouth. How sad, considering how good it used to be! If you want to choke on your food, I recommend it; otherwise, avoid it at all costs. It's not enough to land a feature on Jean-Pierre Pernaut's legendary 1 p.m. news program; you have to learn from it and work to maintain a sufficient level of quality.

27/08/2026: I bought a Basque cream cake yesterday for 14 euros. The bottom of the cake was burnt, the cream was rubbery and practically nonexistent compared to the amount of batter. The cream had no flavor, and the pastry was dry. The quality is equivalent to a supermarket cake, to put it kindly. You might have gotten a good deal on the baguette, but as for the cakes… I've known this place for forty years; the cakes used to be very good. What a drop in quality and authenticity! I absolutely do not recommend it. There are other places where the cakes are much better. Seeing a TV report on this place shouldn't lull you into complacency about quality. Ask yourself the right questions…
