30/03/2026: We spent one night at this hotel, booked by a friend. The decor is rustic; you either like it or you don't, it can give it a slightly old-fashioned charm. The rooms and beds are very comfortable and very clean. The hotel is very quiet and has a gym, which we didn't use but looked very well-equipped. I can't comment on breakfast as we were expected elsewhere. The staff were friendly and pleasant. It's very well located in Yzeures.

02/03/2026: Stylishly restored old building. The original features have been preserved. Truly beautiful for those who appreciate a romantic interior. The rooms are spacious and equipped with comfortable beds. Everything looks quite new and well-maintained. The restaurant offers a daily menu, but we dined à la carte. The food was excellent.

09/12/2025: Authentic Italian pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven in the heart of the countryside near Descartes – pure bliss! The same goes for their lasagna, ravioli, and other Italian specialties. I highly recommend them. Remember to book ahead on weekends or order takeout; seating is limited, but the quality of the food is well worth the trip, whether you eat in or take away.

10/04/2026: This restaurant, located a bit out of the way (but next to our hotel, "Le Blason"), advertises "seasonal cuisine with fresh ingredients." It lives up to its promise, and the food is delicious. We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The cuisine is perfect: choice ingredients, expertly cooked and seasoned. A few surprises and amuse-bouches punctuate the meal. The service is on par with the food! No waiting, and always with a smile and friendly service.

21/04/2026: Nice restaurant. A slight lack of staff training and a lack of clarity on the menu, and perhaps some communication between the front of house and the kitchen. It's not an easy job. The pizzas and desserts were very good.

20/04/2026: Judging by all the positive reviews, I think the chef was probably off today. The pasta was bland and tasteless; I've never eaten so badly in an Italian restaurant. Never again.

28/04/2026: Currently staying here for a week, I was surprised by several aspects that deviate from the usual quality of Mercure hotels. Here: => No electricity in the toilets (not a big deal in itself, and the reception staff handled the situation very professionally and kindly); => In the bathroom, no small kits like cotton swabs/cotton balls/nail files; => In the rooms, no bedside tables, but instead stools, which are quite nice, by the way; => The air conditioning doesn't seem very effective (but I didn't have a thermometer to check); => Lastly, to nitpick, the toiletries provided are: hand soap and a shower gel that also acts as shampoo. I personally find this last point a little unpleasant; I would have preferred two separate products. Oh well, tomorrow I'll do some sightseeing to explore the nearby shops and pick up what I need ;) Besides that: Parking is free. The check-in process was excellent, and there's always someone available. The hotel restaurant menu is quite varied and reasonably priced. The location is perfect for visiting the Loire Valley castles.

26/04/2026: Having stayed for two nights from April 24th to 26th, I must first highlight the positive point: the staff is very pleasant and responsive, which was truly the saving grace. Unfortunately, they seem overwhelmed by the hotel's declining condition. Our first night: we were given a room that was extremely hot (we arrived around 12:30 AM), and the air conditioning wasn't working at all. The room was fairly spacious but had only the bare essentials: no toiletries, just a single bottle of water, and the walls were quite bare. In this first room, the shower door had been removed (although the mounting brackets were still attached), making it incredibly slippery to shower in the bathroom. Very unpleasant, especially when you see on Google Photos that there should normally be one… Following these mishaps, the receptionist, who was very kind and attentive, reacted quickly and moved us to another room for the second night, at the end of the corridor on the second floor. She told us that the air conditioning hadn't been turned on initially, but that it had only been activated that morning. The system being old, it wasn't immediately effective. It was indeed better in the second room, but it wasn't perfect. In both rooms, there were also foul odors… Regarding the relaxation area: the showers were very old, the clock wasn't working, the hammam wasn't working despite the receptionist's intervention, and a light in the pool had come loose from the wall and was dangling in the water… The pool itself was quite large compared to other hotels, and the water temperature was good. The jacuzzi, however, lacked bubbles and wasn't hot enough for my liking… There were also foul odors in the changing rooms. As for the €10 rental fee for the bathrobe and slippers, I've never seen that in a 4-star hotel… they were always available in the room. In conclusion, I find it absolutely unacceptable for a 4-star hotel to have so many problems. There's a real issue at this establishment. It's fortunate that the staff are there to try and make up for lost time.

28/04/2026: Excellent food, impeccable service, elegant atmosphere. We visited this restaurant and were immediately greeted with kindness. They provided very attentive service and guided us through the proper way to enjoy a fondue. Among us were some who couldn't eat milk or cheese, and they adapted a dish for her; they didn't simply remove something, but rather added something to compensate. They stopped by several times to check that the food was sufficient, demonstrating care and attention to the customer. We felt that our satisfaction was truly at the heart of their business. We tasted some very good dishes, made with top-quality ingredients. Thank you.
