10/01/2026: We discovered the restaurant La Claire Fontaine by chance. The food is very good and fresh. The staff is polite, nice, and friendly. Nicolas served us. A very nice guy! The prices are reasonable.

26/01/2026: Excellent place! Not being from the area, a customer from Grasse recommended this restaurant and I wasn't disappointed at all. The service was quick and efficient, and the food was very good. The steak tartare was excellent, and the risotto was perfectly prepared. I'll definitely be back!

15/02/2026: A warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff are excellent. The shrimp soup was decent, but the beef brisket was quite bad; I couldn't eat it. They have a half-liter bottle of wine, which was good.

01/02/2026: The restaurant is lovely. The service impeccable. But I was extremely disappointed with my dish. The parmigiana was excellent. The chuck steak was very disappointing; it tasted like a ball of ground beef for tartare. And neither the mashed potatoes nor the sauce managed to redeem it. The desserts were good. I probably made a poor choice of dish. But overall, I found the value for money unsatisfactory. Even the drinks—the wine list is very expensive. The portions, however, are generous.

27/02/2026: A pleasant surprise that turned into a wonderful discovery... the concept... a concert at the bar, you order... you enjoy... they come and get you, and then you go back for more... it's best to book in advance, but everyone is so friendly that it's a truly enjoyable experience. I highly recommend it.

21/02/2026: Not bad. Very nice view. But the portions are ridiculously small. I was still hungry after a main course and dessert.

17/02/2026: We enjoyed a lovely evening at Restaurant Le Pirate last weekend, on a dark and wet evening in Saint-Jean! Despite this, we felt very comfortable in the restaurant's enclosed 'outdoor' seating area, with heaters and warm blankets if needed. The service (one waiter working alone all evening) was warm, friendly and efficient and we felt we had one of the best traditional soup a l'oignon we have ever tasted, with just the right amount of sweetness and Gruyère cheese on top, it was really delicious! We had a very good bottle of wine which was well priced and also enjoyed our main courses, which were from the 'suggestions du jour' menu. We will look forward to returning to Le Pirate when we are back in Saint-Jean in the summer.

28/02/2026: Sardines advertised with potatoes and salad, received without salad and with barely cooked potatoes. The pastéis de nata was awful, better from Picard. Meals were small. Disappointing.

02/02/2026: If you're in Old Town looking for a cozy place on one of the picturesque side streets and like meat, come here. We ate inside, but he patio was very inviting. Nicely decorated. A bit French Portuguese. the food was very well made, large portions (we each took half home and had another meal.) My entrecote was perfectly cooks (rare, medium rare) as I request as were my wife's lamb ribs. The side of roasted potatoes and red and yellow bell pepper strips was very good.

28/06/2025: Appears to be a family business. Practice ur French here. Dinner opens 7pm. If u arrive before 7pm, u can grab a drink and relax. U are not allowed to order a kid's plate (fish and chip) if u look older than ur age. Recommend salmon tartar! Do not recommend ravioli. The mushrooms were not flavorful.
