A aucun moment on nous a dit que c’était obligatoire pour rester. Le serveur est venu, nous a dit que si c’était que pour boire, il y avait le bistrot le cendrillon juste à côté et qu’ils ne nous serviraient pas la prochaine fois car a partir d’une certaine heure, ils ne font pas brasserie (info indiquée nul part) Au moment de régler, je me suis fais agresser verbalement et avec véhémence. (« Vous avez dit que vous prendrez quelque chose, vous êtes pas corrects, pas reglo, la prochaine fois on vous sert pas ») Propreté à revoir, toilettes sale (non accessibles si vous n’être pas assis en terrasse). 01/09/2024: I don't like to criticize an address where I was well received. We arrive, there are people. The reception is smiling. We settle down. The setting inside is nicely charged and warm. Outside, the terrace is a little steep. Our hosts are considerate and helpful. Alas, the Spain that is offered to us is somewhat artificial. We are quite far, both in spirit and in price, from Donostia or Barcelona. The uneducated, neoconservative bank employees of the snowflake generation at the next table are on their own business. They are more inclined to criticize their employer and their managers than the dishes served to them. And they are not really able to express themselves on either one. But let's get back to our business, the table. Unfortunately, it is not at the level expected. The pan con tomate is good but deserves a better baker. The croquetas are homemade and not bad. The ones with chorizo ​​are better than the ones with jamon. The eggplant fritters lack softness and the chestnut honey is too present. The rabas are rabas but rather than a simple mayonnaise a little more pep would have been desired. The wine is rather a good surprise. The main fault is unfortunately an essential Iberian marker, the charcuterie. All this is a shame because a little sourcing, a little generosity in discovery and a (slight?) revision of prices would do a lot of good at this address and are largely desirable. Indeed, the prices displayed are high and it is better to come here by booking with a platform offering discounts (30 to 50% depending on the day). For example, the prices applied to Padrón peppers would make any naturally constituted (i.e. robust) Basque from Gipuzkoa or Navarre lose heart. A “Racion” here represents the price of approximately 3 kilos of this merchandise in a super market in the southwest. So yes there are the personnel, the charges, the taxes and the remuneration of the company and the entrepreneur (2 separate things). But we still have to pay around 200% of the price charged by the best stops of this type in a town like Biarritz, well known for its economical, affordable side. But it is true that we are closer to Italy than to the border between Le Perthus and La Jonquera and even further from Irún. This perhaps explains it. Notwithstanding, to merit the extra cost, we would have appreciated, for example, the provision of a cup of good olive oil from Empordá or elsewhere on the peninsula. It would even have given the shop adjoining the restaurant a bit of publicity. In short, I remain doubtful, like my guests. Too bad again.

10/08/2024: We wanted to treat ourselves to a lovely and exquisite evening in this restaurant after reading that the chef attaches great importance to regional and seasonal products. We were there the evening before and reserved a table from 7:30 p.m. We saw a wedding party on site, which was probably the reason why we couldn't get a table that evening. When we arrived the following day, three tables were occupied. The waiter took a very long time to serve the aperitif (Prosecco). Afterwards there was an amuse-gueule that tasted very good. Since we ordered the menu in five courses including wine accompaniment, we actually wanted to start with the first wine as a cold greeting from the kitchen - we were denied this because we were told that the wine accompaniment only begins with the starter. Okay, let's leave it like that. Bread was served with the first course at the neighboring tables - we had to specifically ask for it. When meat was served for the main course and we saw the generously sized piece at the neighboring table (which, by the way, only the gentleman ate), a certain anticipation set in and made us forget the poor service. Maybe it was the neighbor's car brand (Rolls Royce). that both of our pieces were just the size of the neighbor's - especially since the chef personally found his way to this table and passed everyone else without saying hello. But we can still count ourselves lucky, because the following guests, who also had the menu, had even less on their plates. When the chef found his way to us at the end of the menu, we asked him when the last of the four wines would be served to us. Conclusion: maybe it was the language - we spoke English since we unfortunately only have a rudimentary knowledge of the French language (nostra culpa)? Maybe it was the evening before, the wedding, which perhaps lasted until early morning? Maybe it was the discrepancy between the demands on culinary art and the understanding of good service? All in all, it was an evening of good food (but not cheap - not entirely worth the price) and blatantly poor service. The location helped a little to overcome the disappointment. It's also a shame that they didn't acknowledge the waiter's faux pas in any way.

14/09/2024: We extremely appreciated the service and kindness of all the staff. We had little time to eat because we had to go to a movie screening. We were served in record time. We had several starters to share, and particularly liked the spring rolls. The fried food was good, as was the salmon and avocado salad. This establishment located in the Docks is halfway between the Terrasses and Pathé la Joliette. It is close to hotels and the Espercieux car park. Finally, the prices are reasonable. Good address if you have to work in the area.

26/09/2024: Ristorante Francese che si presenta bene, ci sono 3 menù fissi oltre alla possibilità di cenare alla carta. Nel menù da 26 € c'era un ottimo antipasto di tartara di tonno con salsa di avocado, la famosa zuppa di pesce è stata una delusione. Il gelato finale è stato buono.

17/09/2024: We came to this restaurant for the second time on Friday September 6. There were 12 of us. Today, Monday the 17th, all 12 of us are still seriously ill. Diarrhea, vomiting for 2 WEEKS, I thought I was dying, I was hospitalized for 2 days. One of us brought a meal home and fed her 2 year old daughter who is also sick. The staff is adorable but the hygiene rules are clearly not integrated. This can have dramatic repercussions. I hope that you will take this comment into account for your future customers because we will not set foot there again

I completely refute the comments accusing the lack of freshness or the criticism about the rice being considered too sticky. Certainly, the rice is well cooked but this is what brings this traditional taste; you have the impression of having joined a real Japanese family. Lovely staff. Delicious sushi, both crunchy and California. Affordable prices for excellent quality; well-filled sushi, more topping than rice, it's a pleasure! The breaded (crunchy) sushi is crispy, a treat! I totally recommend, thank you Sura Sushi!!!🍣
