20/09/2026: Very disappointed. The burgers were tasteless, the food was served cold, and it was very expensive. The service was extremely slow. In short, an experience not to be repeated.

20/09/2026: Meals were served at 3 pm, but I arrived at 2 pm. I'm still waiting for the welcome salad and bread basket. As for the burgers, if you want a goat cheese burger, you might have to search for it for a while because there's only a tiny piece of goat cheese. Also, be aware of allergies, as they apparently use the same utensils. The burgers were cooked very rare, which seems to be a poor technique. In short, an experience we won't be repeating anytime soon.

06/09/2026: High-quality ice cream, the 80% chocolate sorbet and the pistachio, real favorites, all served with a smile and a welcoming atmosphere.

01/10/2026: This is unacceptable. You're eating in front of what's supposed to be the kitchen, and the waiter is making comments. Regarding the restaurant's ludicrous response: I never said I came on a Sunday. I don't know why you're mentioning that day since I came to eat on Thursday, September 24th, at noon. I spent €11.90, and I'm specifying this amount because I almost spent €2 more (!!!) due to a double bill. Furthermore, I did indeed eat in front of a half-open door to a so-called kitchen that looked more like a storage room. Finally, I don't think there are two Kim Lai restaurants in Bayeux, so I wasn't mistaken. That said, your response is entirely consistent with your behavior towards your customers, and given the arrogance of your reply, I wouldn't be surprised if you were my "waiter."

11/09/2026: A lovely lunch with the girls on the terrace today, September 11th, with pleasant late-summer weather before heading out for some Friday shopping and a leisurely stroll through Caen. As always, the welcome was warm, the foie gras was excellent, and the beef fillet was cooked to perfection. The fries and a good salad completed the beautiful dish. No room for dessert today... what a shame! But there'll be room for next time! Le Buquet's is a sure bet for lunch or dinner, with the added bonus of a friendly, cozy, and genuinely warm atmosphere.

23/08/2026: Friendly welcome but bland food. Tomato and mozzarella tart: industrial pastry, no seasoning, tasteless tomato drowned in mozzarella. Bland fish, creamy shallot sauce but ultimately very diluted consistency, same with the Camembert sauce accompanying the rump steak (very tender though). In short, not very expensive, but not great.

05/07/2026: Very disappointed. The air conditioning in our room was malfunctioning all night. It was impossible to sleep. When we reported it to reception, they implied it wasn't possible because no other guests had complained. 🤔 What a joke... In short, no compensation whatsoever. Avoid this place.

30/08/2026: I arrived at this restaurant with my mother and aunt, and as soon as we arrived, the manager assigned us a table that was particularly dirty. I simply pointed out that the table wasn't clean enough for us to sit at. Instead of offering to clear or clean it, she told us it was either that table or we had to leave it for a potential new customer. She even refused to clear the table before we sat down. This was an extremely condescending attitude and a complete lack of respect for customers who were simply there to eat. The tone she used and the remarks in their dialect also made the situation particularly unpleasant. I sincerely wonder: just because we are Black, should we accept this kind of treatment? A deeply disappointing and humiliating experience. I will not be going back.

08/10/2026: Don't bother making reservations for the back area using the QR code displayed in the bar: your request, even if validated, will ultimately not be honored! They confirm their customers' reservations without any regard for the situation. This QR code links to a WhatsApp contact that does confirm your reservation, but apparently doesn't forward it to the staff on site. So, I arrived on the evening of my birthday with a reservation confirmed three weeks prior (!) but which had never been registered by the bar. This is truly unprofessional, especially since the person I had booked with by phone subsequently ignored my inquiries; and I was left without any explanation or apology! Fortunately, the staff on site were very responsive and were able to find me another space in a partner bar within minutes. I sincerely thank them for their help.

26/09/2026: I wanted to thank you for your hospitality with my stroller last night. The whole team was very pleasant and accommodating. We had a lovely evening celebrating my colleague's departure.

13/08/2026: Got delicious fresh fish, shrimp, and lobster; super friendly and a joke by Dutch standards 2 whole lobsters 2 large pieces of salmon 5 giant tiger prawns And half a kilo of boiled shrimp Ate wonderfully for 2 days for 150 euros.

04/10/2026: The site couldn't be better, and for good reason!!! The food is certainly good, but the prices are very high. Personally, after ordering tripe à la mode de Caen (24 euros, by the way), that was it!!! As someone from the region, a native of Normandy, and someone who knows the tripe recipe perfectly, NO!! This dish, which is nothing more than pieces of stomach, without the veal foot, omasum, reticulum, or abomasum that usually accompanies this delicious Norman dish, needs to be removed immediately. It's just a tasteless tripe soup in broth with a few carrots, and far from the 20 hours of cooking required!!! Cooked in water and that's it!!! No, stop this bad image of tripe à la mode de Caen!!! It's giving Norman palates nightmares!!!!

14/09/2026: On holiday in Cabourg, we had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The veal stew with Normandy sauce was delicious, and they were very generous with the sauce! My partner had the shredded beef cheek stew (he loved it too). The same goes for dessert (chocolate cake for me, lemon crepe for him).

25/09/2026: It had been two years since our last visit, and it's still fantastic. The mussels à la Normande are truly excellent. We were there last year and returned this year, and it was just as we remembered... absolutely delicious. Oysters and mussels à la Normande. A must-try if you're ever in Cabourg.
