21/04/2026: On the last day of our visit, we lunched at L'Insolite a recommended by our Air Bnb host. Contrary to the negative reviews, we really enjoyed the food there. It was delicious and staff was courteous & helpful, including the so-called "grumpy old man" 😉

21/04/2026: I had the pleasure of dining at L’Insolite, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The setting is truly charming, with a warm and original atmosphere typical of the Vaugueux district. We ate very well: the dishes were flavorful, generous, and clearly prepared with high-quality ingredients. A big thank you also to our waiter, Joachim, who was very pleasant, smiling, and professional throughout the meal. And a special mention for the owner, Brigitte, who is incredibly friendly and welcoming. You immediately feel at ease in this restaurant. I highly recommend it, and I will gladly return!

03/05/2026: No opinion on the hotel itself, but a major disappointment with the restaurant. We received a friendly welcome and were told to choose a table. We started to sit down, then were told we had to change tables because ours was already reserved. We put the napkins on our laps and realized they weren't dry. We mentioned this to the staff, who brought us more, which were also damp. We asked if it was possible to have paper napkins, and were told they weren't sure if any were available, but eventually, some were found. The menu wasn't very appealing to me; I would have expected more seasonal fruits and vegetables, like asparagus and rhubarb. We were told the wine would be brought to us and that someone would come to pour it, but no one came to pour it during the entire meal. The bread and butter were good. The scallop risotto was mostly made with scallops, and the spelt was too cloying for my taste. The crème anglaise on the floating island dessert was good, but the meringue, which was supposed to be light and airy, was dry and too dense. When we wanted to leave, the door was locked, and we couldn't open it. It took several minutes for a staff member to come by and help us. The staff seemed well-intentioned but simply not up to the task. We have stayed here before in the region (we also stayed at the hotel) and are disappointed to have had this negative experience. We hope this return visit will prompt some self-reflection.

15/03/2026: A workers' restaurant... which is seeing fewer and fewer customers due to significant price increases and the removal of the cheese menu...!!!!! BUT THE WINE (from the European Union) IS NOT GOOD...!!! NEEDS TO BE REVISED In addition, they organize an annual (early December) wine tasting evening with an Alsatian winemaker who sells some very good wines there....

24/03/2026: We had a very good experience during our visit. The starter buffet was varied and well-stocked, and the dishes on offer changed regularly, which was much appreciated. The value for money was excellent. The service was efficient and friendly. We will definitely return.

27/06/2025: We came by coach from Argentan on Thursday June 26th, we found the meal delicious, the dancers nice, the service impeccable, the atmosphere nice, the staff nothing to say, the 2 boys great everything is top notch with you, nothing to complain about, keep it up.

28/03/2026: Passing through Deauville this morning, we were tempted by the shop window, so we went in and bought two vol-au-vents and a slice of rillettes. Given the prices, we trusted the quality, but the rillettes were greasy and tasteless, and the vol-au-vents tasted of nothing but puff pastry and sauce. So, very disappointed to have spent money on such mediocre quality. A tourist trap.

30/04/2026: Five meals a day is perfect at Rosine's place in this small, secluded village.

08/03/2026: The food was disgusting, the cups and the forks were dirty and smelling like eggs. Awful. The boeuf bourguignon was not heated equally , the smell was awful so the taste . And very salty . The fries were full of oil like fried 10 times . We couldn’t finish our dishes and we claimed ti the waiter but they didn’t care . Not recommended at all !!!!

25/12/2025: Very disappointed. I've been a customer for years, buying calissons for special occasions like birthdays and holidays. The calissons are unglazed, very light in flavor, with little marzipan and a sticky texture. As for the truffles, they're dry and lack butter. The quality isn't what it used to be.
