15/09/2025: Possibly the worst restaurant I have ever been to in France

25/09/2025: Excellent meal, I am unable to eat potato and when the main dish of the day had a sweet potato and potato mash I was offered Sweet potato fries in its place. Staff very helpful and friendly, lovely situation on the waterside. We will definitely be back in the future!

21/12/2025: Well, finding an open restaurant on Sunday, December 21st, in the south of Île d'Oléron, seems like a near-impossible feat. The café on the square is open, the welcome is warm, and the service is impeccable. A simple and pleasant moment. A hamburger and fries, a glass of Bordeaux, a coffee, and that's all it takes.

20/12/2025: Unfortunately, the restaurant is changing owners and by the time our review is published...it won't be the same food anymore... Good luck to those who are leaving, despite everything.

02/02/2026: So, I've been eating kebabs all over France and Europe for 20 years, so I know my stuff. I stumbled upon this kebab place by chance at the market, and it's already the best I've tasted in La Rochelle (the meat is really well grilled, just the way I like it, which is becoming rare, and it has corn and olives, also just the way I like them, and Brazil sauce, my favorite). The fries are good. The prices are very reasonable. I'll be back!

07/02/2026: We've been going there as a family for over five years and never had a problem. But today, my partner received a very rude and humiliating comment about her swimsuit, saying it was appropriate even though it was a standard swimsuit (no thong or tanga) that covered three-quarters of her buttocks. Okay, no problem. However, the lifeguards who let some people through in thongs without saying a word—that's outrageous—and who act all high and mighty. Anyway, I won't be going back because that's called discrimination.

28/01/2026: The establishment downplayed the assault I am posting this review after a serious and shocking experience at this establishment. I was in the Roman bath, next to a man in his fifties, but with my back to him, facing my boyfriend. My boyfriend saw the man approach me and found his behavior suspicious. He didn't say anything at the time, so as not to alarm me unnecessarily while still giving me the benefit of the doubt. I then felt his hand caress my buttocks for the first time. Thinking it was also a misperception, I turned towards him and then back to where I was. He didn't react, so I thought it was a hallucination. I then felt it a second time, then a third time, clearly and intentionally. At that point, it became obvious that it was neither an accident nor my imagination. I immediately got out of the pool and we went to alert a lifeguard, who then called a colleague to keep an eye on things. About an hour later, I witnessed a similar scene: another woman was apologizing to this man, thinking she was the one who had touched his foot with her buttocks. Having already encountered him and observed his general behavior—he leered at all the women around him and tried to get close to them in the pool—I understood the situation and intervened to warn the women who were near him. In front of the man, I simply asked the woman and her friend to be careful, explaining what had happened earlier. His reaction was very evasive: a long pause followed by a simple "Excuse me?", then he awkwardly repositioned himself and said and did nothing more for the rest of the afternoon. I then informed the staff of this second assault. Despite several consistent reports, the handling of the situation was outrageous. The lifeguards (who did what they could) came back to tell me that the man had simply received a verbal warning from the assistant director, that it was “the second time,” and that he would only be expelled on the third offense. Repeated sexual assault is thus treated as a mere reprimand. As if it were simply a child who hadn't tidied their room. The assistant director came by, but didn't even speak to me. It was mentioned that this man was “known to the staff,” presented as the father of someone he knows (if I understood correctly), which should obviously in no way minimize or excuse such serious acts. This means that this man can freely return to this establishment and continue to assault women who may not dare to speak out, even though he could have been banned from the premises today. I insisted that the staff review the security camera footage, the existence of which had been clearly explained to me, but this was evidently not done. I also asked for the man's identity so I could file a police report, but I received no response. As is so often the case, women's accounts are not taken seriously, and the potential repercussions in terms of safety and trauma seem to be equally disregarded. I would like to point out, however, that the establishment is usually pleasant and calm. Nevertheless, I am truly disappointed by the lack of consideration and the way this situation has been handled.

06/02/2026: Ordered 4 pizzas and the dough on all 4 was practically raw and floury; I doubt it was homemade. Disappointed.

01/02/2026: A little disappointed. I'd been back for a while, but the dough was dry, the pizzas were much smaller, and the toppings were okay, nothing special. Plus, the panini was small for the price. The website's prices aren't up to date. I don't recommend it. (Lolo's good tips 😉)

18/02/2026: It's obvious you don't go to McDonald's expecting Michelin-starred service. However, the hygiene of this fast-food restaurant leaves much to be desired, and the wait is interminable even when it's not crowded. Not to mention that the staff seem intellectually challenged. Just look at the staff in the middle of the afternoon, seemingly unconcerned, sitting at tables still dirty from the lunchtime rush. Avoid at all costs.

12/02/2026: Just got out of the drive-thru, Mr. "in training" was VERY UNPLEASANT. He made borderline inappropriate remarks, slammed his window in your face when you spoke, and made it perfectly clear you were bothering him! Team ID according to my receipt: 55624 Very bad experience. Usually, it's better. They need to review the training or the staff!!!! BONUS WAIT FOR A COLD MEAL!!! Prices are going up, but the quality and service are plummeting!!!!

27/01/2026: A little ray of sunshine in this winter season. While all the shops are closed during the off-season, Zaza remains open, much to our delight. Everything is wonderful, with a touch of childhood nostalgia, and Zaza is incredibly attentive, much to our enjoyment. Pure joy in these gloomy times, in a cozy and tastefully decorated space. Fantastic!

17/01/2026: The single, incredibly friendly employee served us in a very reasonable time despite being extremely busy. Having two employees instead of one seems like a necessary improvement, but he was too lovely not to give 5 stars!

23/11/2025: CATASTROPHIC! I ordered 5 pizzas on Uber Eats at 7 PM. Only 4 arrived at 7:45 PM, and since they don't deliver, they asked me to pick up the missing pizza (in the pouring rain) within 15 minutes. 15 minutes later, I arrived at their place only to wait until 8:25 PM for them to finally deliver the long-awaited pizza (40 minutes, not 15). Walking back in the downpour with my soggy pizza was quite a bitter experience, I must admit! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

21/06/2025: A good, generous pizza made in front of me. A great recipe discovery! The pizzas from the vending machine are pretty POOR, so I won't be repeating the experience.

09/06/2025: Very good experience. Second time we order and never disappointed. Pizza burger just incredible, the fries on top were surprising but very good. Thank you for your smile and thank you for treating us.

03/01/2026: Restaurant advertising pizzas, but no pizzas, just savory crepes... the mulled wine was really bad (with unpleasant residue in the mouth), the waitress repeatedly left voicemails even though there was no one to serve, I had to ask out loud for my daughter's dessert... We arrived before 7 pm to eat and left a little before 8 pm, the waitress practically threw us out, closing the shutters as soon as we left. The two stars are for the food; the crepes were okay. Apart from my daughter's very bland chocolate dessert, we won't be going back.
