07/09/2026: A very pleasant establishment; we ate there with friends. The setting is nice, and it's not on the busiest street. While the drink selection isn't huge, the menu only offers excellent dishes, true to their descriptions and generous portions. Fresh ingredients and very professional staff—I highly recommend it :)

29/08/2026: The restaurant was packed, and we were lucky not to have to wait and get a table right away. Overall, there are good reviews, and honestly, I don't really understand them. The servers are friendly. However, they don't even know what's in their food! I asked for more information about one dish, and I didn't receive everything I'd been told about. As for the taste? Not good at all. Even my boyfriend's burger wasn't good, although it looks appealing when you see other people's plates, but I can assure you, it's not tasty. On the other hand, the prices aren't very high, but the quality isn't there.

26/07/2026: The food was decent, but the atmosphere lacked comfort. A meal without any major flaws, but nothing special either, imposed as a set menu (starter, main course, dessert!!??). The real problem lay in the service and the setting: crammed 20 people into a small adjoining room of about 20 square meters, the ambiance was more like a noisy canteen than a restaurant. A shame!

05/09/2026: The products are undoubtedly of good quality, however, considering the price, the service is completely inadequate. The dishes are ordinary, lacking any refinement or subtlety in the flavors. The waitress is pleasant, but doesn't meet the expected standards. The knives look like they came from a cafeteria... I found this address in a book listing various good restaurants. I encourage you to try the Chartreuse au Reposoir restaurant; it's half the price and the quality is incomparable. This is the first time I've left a negative review, but frankly, I was disappointed.

23/08/2026: Excellent in every way, the cuisine was masterful, the ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the chef was at the helm. Thank you for this delightful meal: sweetbreads with an exceptional morel and chanterelle sauce, peas and new potatoes in a Grand Marnier soufflé, a glass of Chinon, and coffee with a mini puff pastry Tatin. The service was very professional, not with a forced, commercial smile, but a genuine one that brought me pure joy. A very charming lady, a regular customer, sat at my table and shared this lunch with me. Please give this lady my regards to the manager. Thank you again! Passing through this magnificent region. 08/09/2026: The menu is varied and changes regularly, which is great for regulars. The food is excellent and the service is efficient and friendly. Today I thoroughly enjoyed the daily special for 15 euros: an excellent traditional sausage with very flavorful vegetables! Well done to the team!

08/06/2026: The positive: The food is excellent. No complaints about the quality of the dishes on the plate; they were truly delicious. It's a shame the overall experience was spoiled by the bizarre and disrespectful service. The negative: Service that reached the height of contempt. From the moment we arrived, we were looked down our noses at with blatant disdain by a man sitting on the terrace, who greeted us in a very haughty manner. Thinking he worked there, we asked him if we could still get a table (it was 8:15 pm). The man got up, went into the restaurant to ask the waiter... only for us to finally understand that he didn't even work there, but was just a friend of the waiter! The waiter then took over, equally disdainful, offering us a rather unfriendly "Okay, fine" as we were seated. The rest of the experience was a series of uncomfortable moments: The snobbish ordering: In addition to our main courses, we ordered two cocktails. When asked what we wanted to drink with our meal, we politely replied that the two cocktails (at €15 each, mind you) would suffice for now. The waiter's response, with a condescending look: "Ah, so a carafe of water..." A deplorable sense of customer service and hospitality. The "party with friends" atmosphere: While we were having drinks on the terrace, the staff seemed to have mistaken their workplace for a private club. Between the waiter's friends kissing, smooching, and touching each other in front of the other customers, and one of the waiter's so-called buddies calmly rolling a joint in full view of everyone on the terrace... we wondered where the professionalism had gone. We would, however, like to thank the young waitress who, unlike us, was pleasant and professional.

09/09/2026: Stumbled across this place while cycling to Lac de Montriond. Tuesday night was their last BYO Bbq 🍖 so we grabbed some meat from the shop next door and chef cooked our food perfectly. You could help yourself to bread, coleslaw, potato salad and condiments. We had a fab evening and met some great people. ✌️

05/09/2026: Great food, great service, great vibes. La marmotte d’or is a truly special spot, the interior is cozy and welcoming and the sprawling terrace has gorgeous views of the mountains; the sunsets here are stunning! The food is very well-portioned and reasonably priced with some good vegetarian and vegan options. There’s a good variety of drinks: beers, wines, cocktails and mocktails. The bar regularly hosts events and concerts so it’s a great place to spend a fun evening. The staff is very friendly and all speak French and English. If you’re in or around Montriond it is truly worth the stop!

27/08/2026: A wonderful discovery for us. Without exaggeration, the best meal of our stay. A family-run restaurant with regional and homemade dishes. It's always nice to see something other than fries and nuggets on the children's menu. Friendly and incredibly efficient service. The rösti were absolutely delicious, as was the fresh trout.
