10/09/2026: No service on the terrace; the waitress comes to clear the table next door, no glance, no greeting, let alone a "you've chosen" option. Ten minutes to wait for nothing. This is not the same level of service as last year.

10/09/2026: June 14, 2026. Back for a long, restorative stay, as usual, in this superb Abondance Valley. Old habits die hard: an espresso is a must to start another good day, and tomorrow will be another one. ALL the staff are perfect. By the way, did you spot the nannies admiring the scenery—and the customers seated at tables on the sunny terrace? 2025. An excellent espresso in the morning on the terrace and off we go! Another sunny day ahead. See you tomorrow!

25/03/2026: A quaint 5-star hotel just above Megeve. The welcoming property perfectly reflects a mountain home. The staff are the hotel's true asset, whose kindness and attentiveness make for a truly exceptional stay.

20/06/2026: Lovely hotel on the edge of the lake. Has a great restaurant bar area overlooking the lake . Lovely dinner served and surprisingly popular with people from outside the hotel. Only about 30 minute flat walk into town which couldn’t be nicer with lots of shade and plenty to see along the way. Recommended. Limited on site parking, but a couple of options close by.

23/05/2026: The receptionist was disrespectful, just to ruin the moment. We are shocked and disappointed by the receptionist's behavior!

06/08/2026: A truly pleasant welcome, a great respect for hospitality, a very kind person, really. Exquisite dishes made with quality ingredients; at this altitude, that deserves to be highlighted. Hats off to the kitchen! Impeccable service in my opinion, especially considering one person handling both reception and service. A very good restaurant to recommend 🤗

04/08/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A truly wonderful experience at Restaurant 3842! We were warmly welcomed by a particularly friendly and attentive person, which immediately set the tone for this special moment. The meal was a real delight: high-quality, flavorful dishes in an absolutely exceptional setting. The real bonus, in our opinion, is an advantage that many visitors don't know about: when you have lunch at the restaurant, you can fully enjoy the site without being constrained by the usually limited time for sightseeing. This allowed us to experience it at our leisure, admire the scenery, and take the time to appreciate this unique place. An address we wholeheartedly recommend, both for the quality of the welcome and for the cuisine and the overall experience it offers.

27/08/2026: A truly magical moment! It's a real pleasure to have lunch on the terrace while the goats roam freely in the streets; the setting is absolutely charming. As for the food, the value for money is unbeatable: an adult menu for €23.90 and a children's menu for €13.50—there's really nothing to complain about. A huge thank you to the manager and his entire team for their warm welcome and kindness. I highly recommend this place!

26/08/2026: Simple cuisine, with good ingredients.

19/09/2026: I went up to the counter wanting to order and waited a few minutes before I was coldly told that I have to go sit down and wait for someone to take my order. Quite unpleasant. Then my pain au Chocolat was basically barely edible cardboard. The fantastic location is what redeemed my breakfast there.

23/08/2026: Absolutely disastrous, avoid at all costs! I've never in my life been called a bum. The owner is awful to his customers; he thinks he lives in Courchevel. Charging €5 for a syrup drink and €10 for a 33cl can of Mont Blanc beer... He thinks everything's fine. We were just talking amongst ourselves, saying it was a bit pricey, when we heard him call us bums. He'll treat you like an idiot.

13/06/2026: A cute cabin in the mountains right next to Col de Joly, which is a stunning view point. The food was simple compared to other cabins, but they took into account our personal food preferences. The owners helped us find a solution to a hiking problem that we had to face the day after our overnight stay due to snow, and ended up giving us a ride to the nearby village because we couldn't find a solution. The shower and toilet are connected to the bedroom, which helped when it rained, but the equipment room is separate from the bedroom, which makes it difficult to bring equipment, especially since the equipment room is locked at night. There are 2 shower cubicles and one toilet cubicle inside one of them, and it's a shame to use the wifi, which is only used for the credit card payment system, and it's a shame there's no cell phone reception. The view is stunning

06/05/2026: A very pleasant stay at this quiet and clean hotel, conveniently located in a shopping area with private parking, which is very practical. The room was clean, with comfortable bedding, ample storage, and a very nice working bathtub. The restaurant offers a wide selection of quality dishes, and the breakfast was also very satisfying. Thank you to Emmy for her warm and professional welcome!

05/04/2026: Pleasantly surprised! Good daily special for €19 and draft beer for €5. Terrace overlooking the mountain range. As a native of the valley, I know that mountain restaurants don't have a very positive reputation. But this place was good and reasonably priced, so I recommend it!

30/03/2026: Very expensive, average (at best) food, slow and fairly grumpy service. Burger was ok, but not for €26, tartiflette also ok but again, only average and poor for the price, salads were really bad, probably worst Cesar salad I've ever had and for €21! Reckon the paltry ingredients cost less than €1. Nice views.

14/07/2026: The terrace is superb, the waitresses are super friendly, but 30 euros for a Coke, a syrup, and a charcuterie board is still expensive, even if it was very good.

07/07/2026: The staff were very pleasant and efficient, but the perch fillets were mediocre: four fillets and crumbs on the plate, about five in total. The lemon sauce needs improvement. Luckily, there were fries and salad to fill us up a bit, all for €28. A shame, because the place is beautiful.

01/09/2026: Really bad service To be honest I don’t even want to put 1 star it’s so rude the guy who working there and not polite at all he said 20 minutes of waiting for a burger the bar was empty almost we take 1:10 minutes and the food did arrive yet I asked how much it will take more he was angry and he said yes yes you need to wait a bit more

23/07/2026: This place is so so good but it’s very pricey. Ended up paying USD 45 for 12 pieces. They had ample flavors to opt for and thus went with the 12 piece box and ended up with 6 flavors. Everything tasted great and service was also good.
