13/03/2026: Amazing scenery, food was between 2 - 3 stars. Self-service. Toilets are a bit basic, and are down a small slope under the restaurant, sink had very cold water and no hand drying facilities.

01/03/2026: Delicious, generous food, just the way we like it. We were seated quickly (at least for us), and the service was also quite fast. It was busy, so a bit of a wait is to be expected. The staff were attentive and friendly. I highly recommend it!

04/09/2025: Living in Évian, we've gotten into the habit over the past few months of curiously and enthusiastically exploring the town's restaurants. So far, we've had no real disappointments... until today, unfortunately. Upon our arrival, neither the drinks menu nor the set menu were offered to us spontaneously, so we had to ask. We weren't offered a carafe of water either, which can be surprising in a town like Évian. And no cocktails were offered on the menu, a lack we found regrettable. Regarding the meal: I ordered a blue steak, which was served medium rare. The fries were clearly industrially produced, flavorless and crispy. The bread was slightly stale, which isn't a big deal, but it's still a bit sloppy. The Norwegian salad, for its part, didn't seem very fresh; the salmon had an unappealing flavor, probably from a supermarket, and the vegetables were seriously lacking in vibrancy. Faced with this accumulation of minor disappointments, we decided to interrupt the meal after the main courses. We didn't want to go any further. Finally, an important note: the word "crêperie" is prominently displayed on the front, yet no savory crêpes are offered, only a few sweet crêpes for dessert. This leaves the impression of a mismatch between what is advertised and what is actually offered. In short, a disappointing experience, both in terms of the welcome and the cuisine. We don't plan to return or recommend this establishment as it stands.

07/03/2026: Zero respect from them, I had a reservation for Saturday 07.03 for my mom's birthday, I drove 1 hour 30 minutes to get there only to be told that my reservation was cancelled without warning!

22/03/2026: This establishment promises a dream, but the reality is quite disappointing. The welcome was mediocre. The breakfast was very basic. The spa was ridiculous, with a small pool and a sauna that didn't work. Luckily, the small jacuzzi and the hammam were functional. We had to leave the establishment early due to a skiing accident, but it's fair to say the staff weren't affected. Their only concern seemed to be quickly re-letting the room so they could make a profit. For the price of the room, one would expect better. Indeed, I could have asked the helicopter taking my daughter to the hospital to make a quick detour to the hotel so I could speak directly with the manager... too bad we didn't really have the time... And what a gesture to refund us for breakfasts we couldn't eat! Truly, bravo! Furthermore, you never offered to refund our night at the hotel. I will never sing the praises of your establishment, and even less so of you personally, believe me. There's no point in reading customer reviews if you never question yourself...

21/03/2026: We drove for an hour and a half, full of hope, to find a restaurant that had left us with fond memories five years ago. The result: we would have been better off stuck in traffic; it was much more welcoming. From the moment we walked in, the tone was set: we were required to leave our coats on a rack, like in a self-service cloakroom… unattended, unhelpful, and without a word. A truly innovative concept: “fight it yourself in style.” The atmosphere in the dining room? Imagine a mix between a rainy Monday morning and a funeral without coffee. Not a smile in sight. We even wondered if we hadn't accidentally stumbled into a historical reenactment of sadness. As for the food, it was what I would call “pseudo-refined.” The salmon appetizer was decent… if you ignore the taste. The cod dish? Not bad, but accompanied by an endive so bitter it seemed like a metaphor for the entire experience. Special mention goes to the €8 cheese supplement: three pieces announced with military-like dryness. We were this close to signing a contract before refusing. The dessert, meanwhile, seemed straight out of a dream… but more of a sugary nightmare kind. Too sweet, poorly balanced, we gave up halfway through (as did our desire to return). And the service to the very end: no questions, no “Did you enjoy it?”, no “Have a good evening.” We paid €140 in a silence worthy of an art-house film… without a soundtrack. In conclusion: an experience almost fascinating in its total lack of warmth and self-reflection. At this point, it’s no longer an accident, it’s a concept. We won’t be back—but thank you for this moment… of utter incomprehension.

07/03/2026: We came for lunch during a day of skiing. The positives: the food was very good and the location is great. However: it's very expensive and, above all, the service is very inconsistent and lacking in friendliness. There were four of us adults with an order that suggested a reasonable bill. Our only request was for the cheese to be served separately in the soup (an appetizer costing over €10). The soup arrived with the cheese already in it. Without a word. I called the waiter over to point it out, and he offered me a small bowl to remove it myself. A waitress brought it to us and, far from apologizing, said, "It's the chef's fault." No apology, and she was condescending when I tried to say that it wasn't what we had ordered. In short, we won't be back: there are much nicer people at much more affordable prices all over the resort!

21/04/2026: When they say all experiences are valuable, well, I could have done without this one! The service was beyond mediocre. The waiter seated us at our table without asking if we wanted anything to drink (so we only drank tap water during the meal). The food... Unbelievable! A warm goat cheese salad with no dressing and just honey—which is to say, salad dressed with honey isn't good. There were walnuts, which weren't mentioned on the menu. The toast was listed (but wasn't actually there), and on the plate were some kind of frozen, industrially produced puff pastries filled with cheese. The second course, since there were three of us, was another salad, but it was impossible to identify it because it didn't correspond at all to what was listed on the menu (surprise...). And finally, the absolute worst! A Savoyard burger for €23—how can I put it? Even the cheeseburger at McDonald's has more filling. This burger wasn't even worth a Happy Meal! And we paid over €60 for that!!!! It was so mediocre that we left right after our main course and had dessert at the little chalet on the square, which had truly excellent crepes! This restaurant is to be avoided at all costs!!!! Or the manager should completely rethink everything!

11/03/2026: Good atmosphere and good service. However, the food left something to be desired. We ordered a rare ribeye steak and received a thin, medium-rare steak. The fries were frozen, but the leek fondue was delicious. The ice cream was good.

28/04/2026: I agree with the negative reviews of recent years: La Bonbonnière is no longer what it used to be. The bread is worthless; the traditional baguettes are dry, with large air pockets instead of crumb. I bought an opera cake yesterday, and it was rancid. Only the fruit tarts are decent, but they really need to hire a competent baker-pastry chef!
