23/02/2026: We are always very satisfied when we have lunch at this restaurant... on each of our round trips from Niort... and the restaurant is always full of customers... so it's very popular locally.

23/04/2026: I've rarely been so surprised, but these were all positive surprises! Tucked away on a quiet little street with little traffic, the place is peaceful. The servers are really friendly, the dishes and desserts were absolutely delicious, and the terrace is sunny. Go there, I highly recommend it (I'm not being paid, I just loved it).

04/04/2026: I went this morning. I bought a croissant, which was pretty good. I also bought an Easter nest that was supposed to be praline, which is what I asked for. And she puts just one cake in a box meant for four. But when I ate it, I ended up with a coffee-flavored Easter nest, and I hate coffee desserts. And the Easter nest wasn't fresh; it tasted like it had been in the fridge and been sitting around for a while. And a major problem: the cashier touches the products with her bare hands. When you're handling money, you can't just touch the products too. A serious lack of hygiene. Next time, use tongs.

19/04/2026: Family meal organized on a Saturday at lunchtime. The owner was very accommodating to our specific requests. The food was of very good quality, and the service was quick and friendly despite 63 guests.

I don't know if it was the owner, but I encountered someone who completely ignored me when I spoke to him, talking down to me and using the informal "tu" form as if by some arbitrary right. Utterly disrespectful and completely lacking in manners. Avoid this place at all costs because of people like that.

Marie-Paul knows how to recommend wines to complement the dishes like no one else, with a perfect mastery of pairings and a real passion for her craft. 13/04/2026: A wonderful discovery! We had lunch as a family on Easter Sunday. The staff were pleasant and the service impeccable. The cuisine was refined and delicious, made with quality ingredients. The value for money was perfect; there's nothing to complain about. Located in the center of Chinon, near the castle, I highly recommend this place; you'll be delighted.

02/08/2025: What a shame, it used to be a great place with delicious tapas: bread with tomato, Spanish charcuterie, potatoes with aioli... It's all gone, replaced by Galland's own vacuum-packed products, which we weren't told about or even seen... disappointing, especially since the terrace by the river is lovely... It's just a bar now... Proof: Saturday night concert in 15 minutes, it's empty!

07/04/2026: The food was decent enough, but the service was quite unpleasant. We felt the waitresses didn't really want to serve us. And the same went for the payment; if you don't want to smile or be friendly with your customers, I certainly won't be giving you my money again. A word to the wise.

While waiting for my connecting flight (36 minutes flat!), I was thinking of just having a beer, but when they told me a dish could be brought out express, I was persuaded. The daily special was excellent. Thanks to Anas for the warm welcome and good cheer!
