24/08/2024: I only know the restaurant and it is an exceptional experience that I highly recommend. The prices are more than reasonable and the refinement matches the originality.

Yet again we have returned to this superbly located, friendly hotel in Magical Loches, run by a delightful couple ,Sylvie et Stéphane Gage who continue to deliver exceptional service and wonderful traditional food to all their customers .This a one of a kind , family run , classic French Hotel , situated in the heart of the fantastic historic town of Loches , even boasting secure Hotel courtyard parking - esp. good for motorcycles!. Always a Friendly welcome, with comfortable , if somewhat dated rooms, some with A/C, but compensated by meals in the superb dining room or out in the balmy summer evening courtyard. Fabulous , value food, and superb local wine selection . We keep going back- Well worth a trip , or detour en route South, for a quiet relaxing overnight stay situated in the centre of the pedestrianised part of Loches.. You will return to this gem in the heart of France , over and over to epxerince the bustling markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays, great individual shopping , and magnificent historical sites , all within walking distance.

28/08/2024: Good little fast food outlet outside Azay Le Rideau, well received and well stocked tray. The quality is not bad, like the quantity... very good for the evening and to please the children.

23/08/2024: We didn't make any reservations, but they politely accommodated us. I had the wild duck but I find it a bit tough. My friend had a big salad with gizzards. That is apparently quite tasty.

19/07/2024: Le sandwich, bien que basic, est très bon. Il est fait à partir d'une très bonne baguette. Le prix est moins élevé que dans une boulangerie industrielle. En plus, il est possible d'accompagner le sandwich avec des macarons vegan. Ce point est important lorsqu'on a des intolérances alimentaires notamment.

03/05/2024: I read in the comments that this bakery should be avoided because everything is frozen...this is surely a mistake!! Having had an introduction to it even though I am not at all in the profession, I can attest to the excellence of the baker's work, his search for good and well-made products, his concern for the selection of products, his ethics, of his desire to transmit. For example, this enthusiast has been keeping his sourdoughs alive for several decades which, apart from the fact that this gives it incredible flavors, is far from common these days.

28/08/2024: Das Ambiente im Innenhof ist sehr schön. Der Service ist freundlich distanziert, aber eher geschäftsmäßig. Das Essen war enttäuschend. Die Hauptspeise (Magret de Canard) war quasi ungewürzt, das Fleisch überhaupt nicht kross. Insgesamt eine sehr überschaubare Portion, leider alles in allem ziemlich enttäuschend. Der Nachtisch war okay, aber in Summe hat es alles nicht unseren Erwartungen entsprochen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier nicht.

31/07/2024: The one staff member there was very friendly. But they were understaffed for the relatively large tourist crowd they had the night we stayed there. Also there was no one answering the phone or at the front desk until 4 PM though the website said someone would be there after 8 AM.

27/07/2024: Very pleasant hotel for a stopover or a short stay to visit the castles of the Loire. Very good breakfast and varied half-board.

10/08/2024: Very good dinner. Tables set up in the small street of the church, pleasant with the heat of August. We recommend beuchelle, but so do the rest. Very warm welcome from Christophe, the owner, and the person on duty. Well done to the chef.

01/09/2024: If the order is served quickly, we understand why afterwards. The meat is overcooked because either reheated, or kept in the oven and therefore dried out, the fries are soft, small and full of oil which smells burnt. An internship in the Hauts de France would be necessary. The back terrace is quiet but the parasols are dirty (green and moldy) and papers are lying on the ground. We feel that there are not many real professionals among the employees. It's summer and we can understand that but the bill is copious for such a lack of quality.

09/09/2024: We travel a lot and we always choose Ibis for our overnight stops. This is the first time I've been disappointed by breakfast: - no pancakes, - I fall back on sandwich bread, no toaster! - the tea is tasteless! Moreover, this so-called “Center” Ibis is not in the city center but in the middle of office buildings! Very disappointed….

09/09/2024: Very welcoming staff, room a bit dated, but the possibility of renting adjoining is great with children! Perfect bar although it is necessary to update the good drinks... Marked beers 25 or 33 and refusal in 33cl because this has apparently changed since. A slight detail that in no way spoils the experience.

11/07/2024: Simple home cooking place in a modern building. I *think* but I'm not sure that they only offer lunch. I believe their menu changes daily. Today they offered a fish, a chicken breast, coq au vin, and a beef dish. I'll tell you who was eating there. The fire department was eating there. The street crew was working there. All the locals were there and they were enjoying themselves. As Mike mentioned, the menu is not written. The waitress comes to your table and tells you what's available. Time to practice your French :-) They do not speak English. I had the coq au vin which was served with noodles with butter and parsley. With a glass of wine, Euros 16. The person who complained about value, I don't know how to respond. Maybe his mom could do better. Simple home cooking, and it was welcome. I would absolutely return.

05/09/2024: Waited 45 minutes to take our order. Extremely slow service, yet they are not bad in Service. The dishes are good, and the desserts are quite high for the quantity

01/09/2024: Magnificent restaurant with an incredible terrace overlooking the castle walls, very friendly and kind staff, the meal was incredible, it was all very good, the only small thing was the desserts were not up to the standard of the dishes served.

19/07/2024: The staff is not competent at all, we ask for a coffee, a pastry, the waitress gives me my coffee, makes me pay but no cake, the manager is there as if he didn't exist Like me, several people 😚😚😐

28/06/2024: Served by a person who was not at all the best, not given a small plate or spoon for a soft cake that didn't fit in the hand, plus there was, I think, a manager, it seemed like it bothered him to give me a spoon that I could eat my cake on the bag I don't recommend it at all in any case for me it's finished as well as my family who didn't appreciate it at all
