01/03/2026: We went for a special Valentine's Day evening where the menu was €55 per person, including a starter, main course, and dessert, which ended with a chocolate mousse or a canned fruit salad (a bit pricey, don't you think?). There was no water carafe on the table, and we had to ask for our main courses and the aperitifs included in the menu. The starters were completely tasteless (crumbly chopped shrimp and salmon ceviche with no seasoning), and the main courses were cold (bland and dry risotto). We told the owner about our experience, but she said we seemed to be the only ones complaining. There was no compensation offered, which is unacceptable. We do not recommend this place, at least not for the food; otherwise, the atmosphere was pleasant.

20/05/2026: We came on Tuesday at lunchtime and had a very pleasant experience. There was a good selection, and the service was quick. I ordered a tartine, which was very generous and delicious. The waitress was friendly. We'll be back.

16/05/2026: McDonald's has become very expensive for what it offers. The Egg McMuffin remains a must-try, but the rest of their burger lineup has aged poorly. Aside from the signature burgers, which are as expensive as those at a specialty restaurant, McDonald's has become a second choice for me.

13/05/2026: I'm not a regular customer, but I was hungry and there were no restaurants on the road, so I decided to get a €5 meal deal. It wasn't bad at all, still not a convert, but a nice experience nonetheless. The place was very clean.

28/05/2026: The room was a bit dated on my first stay, but fantastic on my second. In any case, congratulations to the hotel for the quality of the welcome, the service, and the restaurant. I highly recommend it.

21/05/2026: On our way back from Gironde to Yvelines along the main road, we stopped at this restaurant by chance, one of the very few open on a Monday along that route. We had a very good lunch there, with a starter, a main course, and a coffee for under €20 per person. The dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. The welcome and service, provided by the same person, were very professional and friendly, and the portions were quite generous. Frankly, a great stop, especially on a Monday when many restaurants are closed, not to mention that there are very few along this main road.

16/05/2026: Avoid this place. We waited 50 minutes for our main course; we left after the starter (which was good)... Our table arrived after two others and was served before us. We had to wait 50 minutes at the next table for our very young children's meals. The staff offered no apologies and provided poor explanations.

16/05/2026: A very pleasant time in the village of Montresor. An unpretentious restaurant with quality cuisine. And a warm welcome from the particularly young team.

10/05/2026: A very pleasant hotel. The rooms are spacious. The village is lovely. The restaurant isn't worth the price. But the breakfast staff would go out of their way to make you happy.

09/05/2026: Excellent hotel, superb service and welcome, the food was original and delicious, although I found the prices a bit high considering the location. As for the hotel itself, there's not much to complain about, perhaps the bathroom is a bit dated and the shower is a little impractical, otherwise nothing to complain about, I highly recommend it!

18/03/2026: Small but very welcoming restaurant. A regularly replenished buffet with a pleasant but limited selection. Clean and very friendly staff.

08/03/2026: The buffet was very small, and when the dishes were empty, they stayed empty for quite a while... The quality and taste were rather mediocre. I was very disappointed... I'm a big fan of spring rolls, but frankly, these had nothing in them except salad and soy sauce—no flavor at all.

12/03/2026: I don't understand some of the comments, apart from bashing this restaurant... they've been in Chambray for years, always with the same management, so I conclude that they're top-notch compared to those that have closed down... friendly welcome, good food... given the price, it can't be a 5-star restaurant, I'm just saying that for the naysayers... I go to this restaurant regularly and I've never gotten sick.

31/05/2026: I was there that evening around midnight, and honestly, I think some things need to be put into context. I witnessed an altercation between two customers and a manager. From the start, the customers involved were particularly aggressive, shouting and hurling insults. The manager eventually put an end to the discussion, which is understandable given the tone used. The situation then escalated when one of the customers went behind the counter to continue provoking and insulting the staff. Another manager intervened to try to calm things down, but without success. The individuals involved ultimately left the restaurant, continuing to insult the employees. Whether or not one is satisfied with the service, nothing justifies this kind of behavior. Employees and managers are still human beings and deserve a minimum of respect. Seeing the scene, I can understand why the team didn't want to continue the conversation under such circumstances.

30/05/2026: I would like to share my experience at the McDonald's drive-thru in Chinon. I arrived at the drive-thru at 10:37 PM, even though the restaurant closes at 11:00 PM. After waiting in line for about 10 minutes, I was told that the car in front of me would be the last one served, and then the employee turned off the microphone. I then went inside the restaurant to get an explanation. An employee told the manager, "He'll be right back." When the manager arrived, he told me he wouldn't serve me. When I reminded him that the restaurant was still open according to the posted hours, he replied that if I wasn't happy, I should just go to the McDonald's in Tours, which closes later. I also pointed out that the opening hours indicated a closing time of 11:00 PM. The manager told me he didn't care, that "that's just how it is," that he did what he wanted, and that he didn't have enough staff. I can understand the difficulties related to staff shortages, but that's no reason to refuse service to customers who arrived before closing time or to speak to them that way. It's unprofessional and disrespectful. In the end, what I'll remember most is the manager's particularly haughty attitude, who seemed to consider a customer arriving before closing time more of a problem than a customer to be satisfied. The good news is that he won't have to worry about me anymore: living only 700 meters from the restaurant and coming here regularly, I'll now make things easier for him by going elsewhere. It's a shame, because losing a loyal customer over a meal refused at 10:47 p.m. when closing time is 11:00 p.m. is practically a commercial feat. I wish the team good luck nonetheless. As for the manager, if he ever starts a training course entitled "How to Lose Customers in Less Than Five Minutes," I'm ready to attest to his expertise.
