16/04/2026: I came yesterday; the coffee was very good, but the rhubarb meringue tart... It had absolutely no taste. In my opinion, it was just some old leftover, barely edible. There was no rhubarb flavor at all; it was like eating sugar on pie crust. This isn't the first time... so I'm going to stop here.

21/12/2025: Good service. However, the toilets need improvement: the toilet door is broken, and you have to walk alongside a urinal (very little space against the wall) to access the men's toilet.

27/11/2025: I almost never leave long reviews, but my experience at Bar Saint-Jacques deserves to be shared because it's riddled with so many problems that I struggle to understand how an establishment can operate this way. We've all had a bad night out at a bar: slow service, inattention, a small mistake… these things happen. But what's striking here is that it wasn't an accident. It's a general atmosphere, a way of doing things, a kind of ingrained habit. From the very first minutes, I felt like I was bothering them simply by asking for something. Not a glance, not a "I'll be right back," not a smile. You end up waiting, standing for ages, while some people behind the bar chat amongst themselves, attend to other matters, or walk right past customers as if you don't exist. The service is sorely lacking in respect and, above all, professionalism. But what's most shocking isn't even that. It's complete disorganization. Nothing seems clear, nothing seems organized. Orders are forgotten, mixed up, half-finished, or completely lost. The customers look at each other with the same astonished expression, as if everyone is silently wondering, "Is this normal?" And unfortunately, the more time passes, the more you realize that yes, it is. And then there's something even more disturbing. Observing what's happening behind the bar, you see a tall, bald man with broad shoulders making gestures and behaving in ways that a customer should never see in a reputable establishment. Strange manipulations, picking up and putting down objects that seem inconsistent, practices that clearly raise questions. I accuse this establishment of engaging in deceptive financial practices (no pun intended). I'm reporting what I saw, and I wasn't the only one who noticed. And these behaviors ALWAYS come from the same person: tall, imposing, instantly recognizable, whose general demeanor puts neither the customers nor the atmosphere at ease. You find yourself observing things you shouldn't see and wondering how management can let this happen. The overall atmosphere is heavy, tense, almost oppressive. You don't feel welcome or comfortable. And when you add to that questionable hygiene details—glasses not always spotless, a sticky bar, visibly neglected areas—you finally understand that the problem isn't a one-off, but stems from a complete lack of overall management. What makes all this even more unfortunate is that this bar could be excellent. It has a good location, a nice terrace, and potential. But the lack of discipline, the attitude of some staff members, the astonishing behavior observed behind the bar, and the total absence of consistency in the service ruin everything. You leave with a feeling of unease and, above all, a question: how is it possible that no one in charge sees what's happening right in front of them? I don't expect perfect service, just a minimum of professionalism, respect for customers, and serious management. I sincerely hope that management will take the time to get this establishment back on track, because right now, it's one of the most disappointing bars I've been to in Metz. And it's really time someone opened their eyes.

15/01/2026: Is the pizzeria permanently closed? I've been seeing this restaurant closed for several weeks now.

10/11/2025: I'm going to order Vincenzo's order, and the turnovers are not only without arugula, but they're also awfully undercooked.

12/04/2026: Terrible! Horrible! Being a regular, I went there with a mixed-race cousin who was visiting to meet up with some relatives who were also regulars and had arrived earlier in another car. We were refused entry. Our evening was ruined. Everyone went back to Nancy. We won't be going back.

09/04/2026: The atmosphere is very pleasant, especially during the student nights on Thursdays. However, the prices need to be reviewed, especially considering that, as mentioned before, we are STUDENTS and therefore broke.

25/02/2026: The staff were welcoming and smiling. However, this was my first and last experience. The food was reheated and tasteless. The scallops were questionable in terms of freshness. My first time in a buffet restaurant where the food was truly awful.

16/02/2026: The place was very beautiful and very quiet, and the waitress was great. However, whether it was the food or the (non-alcoholic) cocktails, it really wasn't up to par. The cocktails were way too sweet, impossible to finish, and the food was tasteless… very dry, whether it was the cheese, calamari, or onion fritters, or the spring rolls, etc. I don't recommend it, especially considering the price of the evening menu… I won't be back.

05/04/2026: I come to the drive-thru very regularly and I wanted to give a special thank you to one employee in particular. It's truly a pleasure to be served by someone so respectful and efficient. She gives a very positive impression of the team and makes me want to come back. Thank you, Nora, for your hard work and your kindness every day!

16/01/2026: Fresh, varied, tasty! Top-notch restaurant! Highly recommended, and the crowds never let up, especially at lunchtime, which is a good sign!

27/11/2025: The starters, main courses, desserts, drinks, and sauces are all very diverse and of high quality. In my humble opinion, the beef samosas are the best in France. The shepherd's pies are exquisite, and so much more. Honestly, I've never been disappointed. Moreover, the value for money is exceptional. You won't find better in Moselle. See you soon! 🤤

29/04/2026: I waited 30 minutes for three ice creams. I paid for a large one and finally received a small one. I didn't order coffee. I ordered ice cream with caramel cream, but the caramel cream was served separately with coffee. Never again.

01/05/2026: Hello, this is the second time I've come with my wife and children. Your employee, whose name I don't know, is very short and barely breathes when we open the door. He doesn't even respond to our greeting, so we left. If he doesn't want to work, get rid of him. He's simply made me never want to come back. I will never return to your restaurant. I was a loyal customer, and I will tell everyone I know not to come. Thank you.

01/05/2026: The service at this restaurant was appalling. We've been several times and never received a greeting, no politeness whatsoever. And today, for the second time since we started coming here, the short, dark-haired employee sighed and rolled his eyes when we walked in. It's unacceptable! If you don't want to work, change careers. You're a disgrace to the restaurant industry.
