07/09/2024: We have tried several restaurants in the Carcassonne region over a weeks period. Until today, we have suffered from getting poor quality, over priced food that is not what we are used to in France. Today changed that. We read a few reviews of a little bar/restaurant in Arzens and decided to give it a try. And it was well worth the visit. Home made food with lots of flavour at a reasonable price. Service was good. The only negative for us was the smoking - supposed to be illegal to smoke inside public areas but not the case here the bar. The strong smell did affect our experience.

03/09/2024: Apart from the waitress who is nice, tasteless pizzas, pieces of uncooked chicken in a Hawaiian place that is not clean. Does not deserve the name restoration.

05/09/2024: Très bon service, cuisine parfaite, cassoulet digne du nom. Menu très bien étudié. Accueil, qualité, sourires. Merci à tous pour ce très bon moment passé en famille à déguster un très bon cassoulet.

14/08/2024: Les restaurateurs travaillent des produits locaux et de saison. Une excellente table, toujours au top été comme hiver. On s'y régale et on s'y sent bien. Les soupes sont délicieuses !

29/09/2024: We loved this restaurant but it has changed, the quality of the products has dropped, the staff do not necessarily understand our questions... a dessert is no longer on the menu and nothing is reported at the start of the meal. The menu looks gloomy (torn and damaged). Too disappointed we won't go back there again, too bad.

28/09/2024: We came to celebrate some good news and treat ourselves to a bottle of champagne to share. Very short choice and after a long wait before someone deigned to take our order. After another 10 minutes, they don't have what we order and offer us a superior vintage at a much more expensive price... of course. We suggest leaving... hot or cold. I advise this establishment to convert into a post office. Everything except bar. We go opposite.

13/08/2024: We ate a dish consisting of a burger of the moment with homemade fries, as well as a homemade organic lemonade. We were amazed by the quantity already on the plate but above all by the homemade taste and the love that had been put into this meal. Without a doubt, we will return if the opportunity arises. The prices are completely reasonable.

07/09/2024: During our stay for 3 weeks in August at the LVL campsite, we only set foot in this restaurant once...115 euros for four for 3 menus at 18 euros with very small portions, 1 small camembert with 2 new potatoes for 10 euros, a 50cl pitcher of wine, a coke and 3 cocktails. We had reserved our dessert when ordering at the request of the waitress only to learn later when it was time for our desserts that what we had ordered was no longer available. Starters served with our cocktails, 1 hour later we had our dishes then the wine even though we had almost finished our dishes. At the time of the addition I ask for the receipt and I am told that the cash register is broken, I am asked to take my email address so that they can send me the invoice by email on Monday, I always wait after 5 weeks. The only positive point is seeing the sea, but you might as well go directly to the beach.

08/09/2024: We first stumbled on this excellent canal-side restaurant in July 2024 and had an excellent dinner with wonderful tellines persilade to start with and followed up with fillet of turbot also very good. There's a strong emphasis on fish and seafood here but not exclusively so something for most tastes. The chef is talented, knows his craft and prepares fresh innovative dishes presented with flair and care. So good was gthe first visit we stopped again now in September for lunch...lovely moules buchot followed up with a blanquette fo homard and sole. The desserts can be both tempting and dangerous! Try the Frozen Gin - with cucumber sorbet.....brilliant. Nice friendly service and a chef who takes pride in his work. This is a keeper!

19/09/2024: Comida normal pero mal servicio. La camarera nos monto un pollo pues pedimos la carta a otro camarero y nos gritó que se lo teníamos que pedir a ella. Además te hacen pagar la cuenta en la barra, coda que si fuera barato, lo entendería pero 42 eu por persona sin vino, no es para hacerte levantarte a hacer cola.

15/09/2024: We can't recommend this restaurant. The 'welcome' was unfriendly, the service cursory, food was OK, overcharging the last straw. End of season, so maybe everyone is tired and done - but we were on holiday and looking for a pleasant evening, not to be made to feel like a gullible nuisance.
