08/11/2025: We were looking for a good cassoulet and found the perfect place. It's listed on the menu as "cassoulet à ma façon" and it's spectacular. Served in a cocotte, it has a subtle smokiness when uncovered and delicious meats—especially the duck confit. We paired it with a red wine recommended by the waiter, the ideal match. 🍷 Thank you for such a rich and authentic experience.

07/09/2026: This isn't a restaurant, it's a disgrace. We've eaten worse, even in a school cafeteria. A €26 set menu included fries that were rock hard, incredibly hard. The starter was laughable: four calamari fritters practically fighting on the plate. Not to mention a pork chop as thin and small as a sponge. And all of this without any bread—we didn't get any... and it was served on broken plates, and they told us it didn't matter... The dessert of the day? Well, there wasn't one... and it wasn't replaced... And for our 6-year-old daughter, who was sick that day, it wasn't even possible to get a hamburger, only a hamburger... And even the toilets—the cistern was held together with tape! Honestly, I'm extremely disappointed.

02/09/2026: Avoid this restaurant at all costs! 0 out of 10! I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant for the food. There were two of us when we arrived, and I told the waiter we were smokers so as not to bother the non-smokers. He seated us right in the middle of the pedestrian walkway, in a real draft, but in the end, everyone was smoking under the shelter. We waited 30 minutes before the waiter came to take our order. After another long wait, we received our aperitif: two royal mojitos (with champagne), but we couldn't taste the champagne at all, not even a hint of bubbles! We asked him to move us because we were cold, and they told us that I had already registered the table, so there was some kind of trick to do with their computer system, and they weren't sure they'd be able to do it. We received our main course at the same time, without even having time to finish our aperitif. My daughter ordered tagliatelle with a fillet of pollock; the portion was for a 7-year-old. I ordered mussels with Roquefort cheese, but the mussels were cold and closed. I asked for them to be cooked again, and they came back cold and still half-open. The fries were frozen solid. I had to ask for a large spoon to stir the mussels. We asked for bread, as there wasn't any, and they served us disgusting frozen bread. I had ordered a small pitcher of rosé wine, which I had to ask for several times. In the end, they wouldn't serve it because they were out of glasses, since they had just come out of the dishwasher. They put ice cubes in the pitcher of rosé, which ruined it completely because it was water! After 45 minutes, they finally brought us a carafe of water, which we had requested as soon as we arrived. The waiter was not at all friendly. The next day, I got sick because of the mussels that weren't fresh.

20/08/2026: In one year, the establishment has completely deteriorated. There's no longer a menu; everything is à la carte. The food isn't up to scratch. The desserts aren't ready. The toilets have been out of order for a long time. It's over.

12/09/2026: Top-notch team. Always smiling, a warm welcome, and serious work. Even close to closing time, they'll make you the pizza you want. I highly recommend them. Go for it!

30/09/2026: We enjoyed our dinner on Tuesday evening. It was fresh, well-prepared, and the sea bream was cooked perfectly with its accompanying vegetables. Oysters and dessert were included in the set menu. A pleasant experience for us, as tourists passing through. Perhaps a small tablecloth, even a paper one, would have been appreciated for the table setting, especially with the evening menu. Best wishes.

24/09/2026: The Moroccan salad with its bread was delicious, I loved it! The staff were quick, efficient, and very friendly. A very pleasant evening.

26/08/2026: For the first time, I ordered Swiss meat, which is often overpriced... It was a success, at a very reasonable price... All this, near a lovely location....

18/08/2026: We received the advertisement for the hamburgers. Admittedly, they were different from the photos, but the meat was good, the sauce was nice too, and the homemade fries were plentiful.

11/08/2026: Low prices, but they should raise them for better food quality. Dirty, flooded toilets. Steak with a half-cooked egg on top. Undercooked fries too. Tiny flank steak.

12/07/2026: Watched the Tour de France on television and had a nice beer. When we were there were no snacks.

12/08/2026: As a business trainer, I'd tell you that a customer isn't sacred, but they do have the right to be respected. Whether they're sitting down to eat or drink, they've chosen you. If you don't respect them, they'll be disappointed, feel betrayed, and won't come back. We had time to perfect our tans while watching the people who arrived after us get their orders served quickly. After a 20-minute wait, we went to spread the good word at a competitor who was more willing to serve us!

07/08/2026: A really lovely bar right on Place de la République. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a cold beer and some tasty snacks while watching the world go by. The staff are super friendly, attentive, and welcoming, and the prices are very fair. If you’re looking for a great place to relax, soak up the atmosphere, and watch the activity on the square, this is an ideal spot. Highly recommended!

12/09/2026: I ordered a dessert (cheese with honey, as indicated on the menu). They brought me a tapa that looked similar and also had honey (but it cost twice as much). They charged me for the second one.

08/09/2026: Nothing homemade in our meal. It was all canned, factory-made food. Really nothing special.

20/10/2025: Chez Norbert is always a safe bet; the owner is friendly and the food is good. It's hopelessly overcrowded during peak season, and outside the peak season the outdoor seating isn't so nice. But it always deserves four stars!

27/09/2026: Having visited several times, I'm leaving a review that reflects both my customer experience and my professional background, having worked for many years in the restaurant industry as a cook, chef de partie, sous-chef, head chef, and also as a restaurant owner, in professional catering and my early days in Michelin-starred restaurants. Before even eating, I had the unpleasant surprise, on several occasions, of encountering an employee at the bar who never knew how to properly serve me a half-pint. Each time, he would pour my half-pint with at least half the glass full of foam and then wait for it to settle. While waiting, he would fill a new glass with beer and use it to slowly pour the beer into my glass. As a result, the beer had time to go flat and start to lose temperature, which isn't ideal after such hot days this summer. The first time I ate there, I went to the hot food counter. An employee told me it was roast veal, but then another person arrived and announced it was roast pork. When I finally got to my table, the roast was very dry despite the sauce; I often needed a sip or two, at least, to help the meat absorb the sauce. Another time, I ordered duck, which was fine. Once I had a side dish, I ordered duck breast. I had asked for it to be pink, but it was medium-rare, almost well-done. The plate was minimally presented, but I won't complain about that. We're in a cafeteria, not a traditional restaurant, a gourmet establishment, or a Michelin-starred restaurant. Later, I came back and ordered braised ham. I, who personally use very little salt, almost never, was quite surprised. Indeed, the first bite of ham I took was like the Dead Sea. I tasted the ham on its own, thinking perhaps the supplier had gone overboard with the salt, but in the end, nothing. So I took a small piece of bread, dipped it in the sauce, and put it in my mouth—it was awful. I, who usually only drink a small carafe of water, that day I drank two, but even then, for quite a while, I still felt like I had a heavy dose of salt on my tongue, even after having a coffee. Later still, I ordered the Orloff roast. I have to admit, I looked for the cheese, and as for the bacon, it was very crispy, hard, and difficult to chew, and sometimes it felt a bit rough in my throat. But the biggest mistake I made that day was asking for zucchini. They just threw the zucchini onto my plate instead of putting it in a separate dish, and as a result, the zucchini water quickly mixed with the roast's sauce. Again, not good at all. I ended up with a half-watery roast sauce. I admit, I know perfectly well, we're in a cafeteria, not, as I said earlier, a gourmet restaurant or a fancy establishment, or even a Michelin-starred one. I'd describe it more as home-style, family-run food. But when I go out to eat somewhere, I still expect a minimum level of quality, even if I don't expect perfection. Since That day, the last day I ate there, was over; I'm not eating there anymore. Some people were smiling, others less so, and some not at all. It depends on the day, but for me, I think that when you work with customers, you leave your problems at the door. I wish them all the best nonetheless.

My son has never complained about the sandwiches, so no worries there. And I've never had any complaints about the bar service either, as the staff is mostly friendly and polite, although unfortunately, I've noticed that some customers are less than courteous or even rude to the employees. The owner always has a smile on his face when I see him. After a meal on Saturday, August 1st, during which I ordered duck breast with fries, I also had a salad, melon and country ham, a cheese plate, and I tasted my wife's Aligot. Everything was good, although the duck breast was slightly overcooked (I had asked for it medium-rare), but oh well, otherwise it was tender. My duck breast was presented simply, but we're in a cafeteria, not a restaurant, so that's fine. I hope the owner finally finds his permanent team, which unfortunately keeps changing (this is often the case in the restaurant industry, and certainly in cafeterias as well). Two new people seem pretty good, and one other new person is friendly and smiling when I see her. My favorite was there, but not at the bar, and my second favorite wasn't there either.
