09/08/2026: So, it's a Sunday and most of the town is shut. Luckily, we found this place, which seemed to be buzzing with people of all ages sat on the terrace. Staff were apologetic about the food, "only finger food". It was lovely, a generous cheese and charcuterie platter and selection of tapas.

31/08/2026: We arrived at this restaurant and were unfortunately greeted very poorly by the waitress. She constantly rushed us to choose quickly, even though we barely had time to look at the menu. When we were finally ready to order, she waved us off in a very unpleasant manner, asking us to wait because she wanted to attend to other customers first. We completely understand that a restaurant can be busy, but the way customers are treated is still important. We found her behavior particularly rude and disrespectful. Therefore, we chose to leave without ordering.

25/08/2026: What a disappointment! A few years ago, this was an excellent restaurant. Now the service is mediocre, rude, and noisy. The staff doesn't know the menu, and the food isn't worthy of a restaurant. It's almost a waste to have kept such high-quality silverware for such low-quality food.

01/07/2026: The current state of the hotel was not at all up to the standard of a 5-star hotel or a Relais & Châteaux, for that matter. The restaurant was not up to the standard of a 1 Michelin star, either. When we arrived at the hotel on a Wednesday afternoon, only one person was working, and she was the receptionist. She somehow found someone to help us with our luggage, and she helped us to get the manoir suite #118 in shape for us. No one had read my email requests for the room; it took a long time to get the room the way we wanted it. We arrived during a canicule. The suite had only one air conditioner, and it was in the bedroom, at the far end of the suite. It could not cool the salon, the entry, the closet or the bathroom at the other end of the suite. Housekeeping staff arrived and with their help, the bed was remade the way we like it. In the bathroom, there were only huge bath towels. We were told that there were no hand towels at this hotel. There was no dish for the soap and nowhere to hang the towels conveniently near the sink. There were no hooks near the shower either. The suite had been renovated but not with the comfort of the guest in mind. When we asked the woman at reception if they had forgotten our fruit plate; one was brought. We asked where the bottles of water were, and we were brought some. We were charged 14€ for what is usually a welcome gift of fruit and 20€ for two bottles of water. In our experience at a 5-star hotel, water and fruit are included in the price of a suite. After we unpacked we took a shower. The floor of the shower was really slippery and dangerous. We are glad that we survived in one piece. We had a disappointing meal at the restaurant. We sat looking at the lovely grounds and that was nice; it was actually the only good thing about our meal. The service was not good—it was very, very slow. The music was not appropriate to the bucolic setting and the food was just okay. The amuse bouche arrived and it was a tomato soup and a savory feuillette. The bread did not have a crunchy crust so Dimitri did not like it. We ordered the fois gras cooked in a bain marie which we usually like. This was not tasty enough. The ceviche entrée was also tasteless. For our main, we ordered the pork. It was so dry, it was like paper. The sauce had no character and there was not enough to moisten the pork. Dimitri liked the white asparagus; Audre thought that they were overcooked. The soufflé was good. Our meal cost 77€. Breakfast on the terrace was adequate but not at a 5-star level.

09/05/2026: May2026 (new) The lunch menu seems to have changed. Although the prices are a bit lower, the quality and portion sizes are different from last year, especially the coffee at the end. Overall, last year's experience made me want to return, but this year's was a bit disappointing. We would like to return if the food could be improved. June2025 Great restaurant and service! Every dish is amazing! The fish is also very delicious, and the surprise is in the details!

01/09/2026: We would have liked to order dessert, but letting people smoke on the terrace bothered us; it was a shame.

10/08/2026: The oysters are good but poorly shucked. The rest is for tourists used to eating just to survive.

03/10/2026: Good morning, Madam/Sir, you have a rating of 3.8, which is not a good score, and I know why. Yesterday, my friend and I were there. The owner served us well, however, her employee who took over was incredibly rude! I don't know if she's frustrated with her life, or if she has a disability (if so, I apologize, but that's no excuse), she is completely unprofessional! I am a trained head waitress in the restaurant industry. I have worked in renowned Parisian establishments, and I can tell you that your waitress, the rather large "Dame Blanche," is therefore unprofessional in terms of interpersonal skills, professional conduct, and communication! There are training courses offered by France Travail on verbal and non-verbal communication with customers. Customers are what keep the business afloat, not the other way around, so it is very important to know how to communicate and serve them well!

21/09/2026: A wonderful time on the terrace, the food was delicious and generous, and the service was very friendly. I highly recommend it.

20/06/2026: The entrance to the annex, which houses a few bedrooms, is really lovely and smells wonderful with the blooming honeysuckle. Twin room overlooking a quiet little garden.

24/05/2026: The welcome was extremely unpleasant, and the service was truly awful. The staff were haughty and completely out of touch. The total lack of politeness made for a dreadful experience. This hotel/bar does not deserve its reputation. Avoid it.

11/05/2026: Excellent food, beautifully presented dishes. A pleasant setting.

03/05/2026: Only the terrace was nice, the owners were unfriendly, the tartine (a type of flatbread) wasn't great, and the cleanliness was average. I left more than half my plate and saw many unfinished plates as I left. Bad first experience, I won't be going back. Expensive for what it is; the quality and service need improvement.

03/10/2025: This place is currently closed due to a fire burning down the building on the 26th September. I don't forsee this reopening soon

19/09/2025: Food mediocre, not quite warm. "Mistake" at the checkout: paid 20 euros too much. Didn't get a receipt. Got the money back after asking.

24/08/2026: Passing through Balaruc, we stopped at the brasserie. It was very good, the waitress was very friendly and smiling. And the menu was perfect.

21/08/2026: I've been going there every week for years. It's striking how a vacuum-packed waffle (with Nutella and whipped cream from a can) and a cup of tea has gone from €6.50 four years ago to €8.30 today. I used to be a regular, but I think this will be the last time. They blame it on inflation. It's a shame.
