22/12/2025: A SHAME — RUN AWAY! We chose Les Tables de Philippe because of its advertised "gastronomic" positioning, linked to Les Chalets de Philippe. The gap between the promise and the reality is unfortunately obvious. We came via the Gourmet Passport, which has already allowed us to discover some excellent gastronomic establishments, including some at reduced rates. The price paid therefore has no bearing on the standards or the legitimacy of our opinion. We were informed at the beginning of the meal that the current Italian chef had only arrived a few days or weeks prior. This information is important because it means that older photos and reviews visible on Google do not necessarily reflect what is offered today. The menu offered during our visit was as follows: – beef carpaccio, – pumpkin risotto with sausage pieces, – vitello tonnato, accompanied by raw vegetables (a simple bowl of salad combining lettuce and a little red cabbage), – aged, but very young, cheeses, – followed by a moist chocolate cake with yogurt sauce. Overall, it's very classic Italian cuisine: recipes lacking any particular creativity, predictable flavors, basic textures, and a presentation without any noticeable effort. It's acceptable, but unremarkable, and far from the claimed gastronomic level. The service was also subpar. One of the waiters spoke neither French nor English, only Italian, making any interaction difficult. His service was very abrupt, with no apparent etiquette. A second waiter was more conventional, pleasant, but offered nothing of value. No presentation of the dishes was offered: the plates were simply placed on the table, and the staff immediately withdrew. During our conversation with the owner, he explained that "this isn't French gastronomy, but haute Italian cuisine," which he claimed was the work of a chef trained at one of Capri's finest schools. He also implied that, as holders of the Gourmet Passport, our comments were of little consequence and that the restaurant would always be full anyway. However, when we visited, the restaurant was far from full, which raises questions about the consistency of his claims. The conversation took place in a tone that was not conducive to discussion and offered no real opportunity for self-reflection, further exacerbating our disappointment. We didn't take any photos—or rather, we didn't even consider it—as the presentation of the dishes was so poor. To get an idea, simply search for the dishes listed above on Google and look at the first corresponding Google Images result. Conclusion: If you're looking for a truly exceptional gastronomic experience, both in terms of food and service, this isn't the place for you. However, if you're looking for classic, decent, but nothing more, dishes, then this is the right place for you.

21/12/2025: We would like to share our experience regarding our dinner at Les Tables de Philippe in Chamonix. We had booked a six-course tasting menu for €95. Upon arrival, we were informed of a change of chef, which we accepted without difficulty. However, a new five-course menu was offered in its place, at the same price. Presented as a gourmet Italian menu, it unfortunately proved very disappointing. While the carpaccio was acceptable, it was rather simple. The next course, a pumpkin and sausage risotto, lacked any real finesse. The vitello tonnato was the most disappointing element: meat drowning in sauce, accompanied by a simple bowl of salad, whereas the menu advertised raw vegetables. As I don't eat raw vegetables, I asked for an alternative and was served mini-quiches that seemed to have been frozen, which is hardly acceptable in a restaurant claiming to be gourmet. The cheeses were bland, and the dessert—a chocolate cake with a yogurt sauce—was something you'd expect from a brasserie. Considering the price of the menu, it was a complete disappointment. Furthermore, the service was anything but gourmet. We should point out that we had the Gourmet Passport, and therefore only one of the two menus was charged. However, our complaint is not at all related to the amount paid, but rather to the quality of the meal, which fell far short of the standards expected of a gourmet menu. Finally, when we tried to express our disappointment to the owner, he was dismissive, arguing that having the Gourmet Passport didn't give us the right to complain. A regrettable and unprofessional reaction that only exacerbated our poor experience.

18/04/2026: I stayed at the Maison d'Hôtes du Prieuré for a training course in Bourges, and I was very happy with my stay. Pascale was very attentive to our needs, and the rooms were very comfortable! The breakfast was excellent.

20/05/2026: Dirty damp sheets, horrific service from most ( not all) of the restaurant’s staff, complete disregard for the customer’s wishes from same staff, kitchen closes at 9:15 and “you can go have dinner somewhere else” attitude, etc. Sad experience for upwards of €2000 per night. Do not stay there !!

22/01/2026: An excellent experience! The food is homemade, full of flavor and authenticity. The welcome is truly warm, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Even while waiting for the renovations to be completed, the atmosphere remains friendly and welcoming. A place not to be missed; I can't wait to return once everything is finished!

24/06/2026: Aside from the service (thank you, Marie), everything else was deplorable: an unpleasant owner to both staff and customers, tasteless frozen meals, and low-quality desserts. I do not recommend it.

11/07/2026: Hello, I highly recommend this restaurant. I have to say, the atmosphere is superb. Especially the waiter, Jérôme. I was there last night, and honestly, we had a great time and a good laugh. A real treat. Seriously, you have to go. Say hi to Jérôme and keep being the way you are. I personally love you.

09/07/2026: A very disappointing experience. The quality of the food was poor and fell far short of expectations. The steak was far too fatty, making it unpleasant to eat. The cordon bleu was poorly prepared and had an odd color, which didn't inspire confidence in its cooking. The fries were soggy, overly wet, and had an unpleasant, unusual taste. For this level of quality, the price is certainly not justified. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant and I won't be returning anytime soon.

08/06/2026: We dined at L'Épicerie with high expectations, especially given the cheese-focused concept, but we left very disappointed. The welcome was pleasant, and we were seated. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience fell short. I chose a €40 goat cheese platter, one of the restaurant's featured specialties. Before ordering, I asked for information about the cheeses on offer. The first server, who had just arrived, couldn't help me, which is understandable. Another server then took over and asked the chef, but she ultimately couldn't provide any further details. So, I enjoyed my platter without any introduction or explanation of the cheeses, which is particularly disappointing for a restaurant that emphasizes this experience. Regarding the cheese board itself, most of the cheeses were very strong, with little variety in flavor. The bread served seemed somewhat haphazard, in limited quantities, and I had to ask for more bread as well as the bottle of San Pellegrino I had ordered, which had been forgotten. My partner ordered marinated poultry. When he asked what the side dish was, the waitress told him it was risotto. He then added a portion of fries. However, when the dish arrived, there was no risotto, without any explanation or apology from the staff. Ultimately, despite a friendly welcome, the lack of product knowledge, the oversights in the dining room, the lack of explanation for a cheese board at this price, and the inconsistencies in the dishes served significantly detracted from our experience. A disappointment considering the prices charged and the advertised concept.

29/01/2026: It's more like a two-star than a three-star hotel. I was given a supposedly luxury room without being told it was a special room for disabled guests. While I have nothing against disabled people, it would have been helpful to be informed beforehand. The rooms are mediocre and often very crowded in the morning showers, with no hot water – in short, a disaster. Not to mention the noise from the upstairs neighbor until midnight, when it sounded like she was moving furniture. The reception was pleasant enough, and the hostess isn't to blame, but overall, not a great experience.
