03/10/2025: We went to the door after seeing the good reviews on Google. Once there, at 7 p.m., we waited more than 30 minutes: still closed. The hours are not indicated on Google or on the door (just "open lunch and dinner" without any details). We also called, without answer. Passing through La Rochelle, we were disappointed not to have been able to try it.

With only about thirty seats, you immediately feel at home in this very friendly and welcoming dining room. ​The quality of the dishes is exceptional: the flavors are present, and you can tell that everything is prepared with fresh vegetables—a real treat that makes all the difference. ​A huge tip of the hat to the owner, who runs the establishment masterfully! He takes orders, serves, and is in charge of the kitchen. Despite this, the service is surprisingly fast and efficient, quite comparable to other restaurants, which is a real feat. ​For dessert, I highly recommend the flambéed beignets (apple, pineapple, or banana): a truly delicious way to end the meal. ​A must-try for lovers of good Asian cuisine. We will definitely return.

However, it was a shame to serve a chocolate fondant with crème anglaise and a rum baba with a knife and fork... and when we asked for a spoon, we were told they were out... even though the restaurant was half empty. What will it be like in peak season? Luckily, a waitress dedicated to clearing tables, who was more attentive, noticed we weren't eating and brought two more.

09/04/2026: I would have liked to give it a better rating, but despite a large number of servers, a half-empty terrace, and a 25-minute wait to enjoy dessert by the beach… no one came to take our order! What a shame…

03/03/2026: I'm giving it a 1 because couscous isn't made with just carrots (just a small piece of turnip and zucchini). Obviously, at 70 cents a kilo for carrots... oh, maximum profit margin... I won't be back.

24/01/2026: Word of mouth led me to this authentic restaurant; the decor is perfect, as are the ambiance and the welcome. The couscous is a real treat, and the meat is top quality. I highly recommend it for those who want to escape for an evening.

01/01/2026: I often go to this tobacconist's which closes quite late in the evening as well as on public holidays, I take my hat off to them and thank you, but the only downside is these tramps who spend their time taxing you as soon as you leave the tobacconist's, often young people who instead of going to work come to tax and take advantage of the generosity of some, it becomes very annoying, because in addition if you refuse to give, they almost make you feel guilty.

08/11/2025: The tobacconist is very welcoming despite a somewhat unsafe atmosphere caused by some disrespectful customers who loiter in the shop to make phone calls. It takes real courage to be a tobacconist today and to show such diplomacy towards all customers.

17/04/2026: Never left hungry and always excellent quality and quantity! I'm taking off one star for the service because ketchup is extra and the portions are too small, whereas it (and mayo/mustard) should be available at all times on the tables, either in packets or bottles. But no complaints about the staff or the speed of service!

01/03/2026: Several visits to this restaurant, which is open year-round. The prices are reasonable, as are the dishes. Fresh ingredients, not haute cuisine, but in line with the prices. One major drawback, even though the staff isn't unpleasant, is that we always get the feeling we're bothering them (to put it politely). It's true that the service doesn't reflect the warm atmosphere and the quality of the food. The same goes for the friendly interactions, which vary depending on who you get.

15/02/2026: We went to this restaurant, the waitress was very kind and attentive, and we ate very well, the couscous was very good and the salmon pasta too, we will come back :) see you soon!

10/03/2026: Very warm welcome, very pleasant staff. This was our second dinner at Le Comptoir restaurant, and we were once again disappointed with the "fries"—mostly greasy, overcooked bits in the basket! It's also a shame that the waitress sprays her table cleaning product, which is very volatile, close to the customers who breathe it in while eating. It's very unpleasant, and a non-volatile product should be used. We were also seated at a dirty table! Visited in March
